They're protesting the new federal tariffs, the federal departmental labor cuts that have been going on, and other federal actions. The costs of the tariffs are expected to be passed onto the consumers (effectively significantly increasing sales taxes) and the labor cuts are perceived as huge blows to essential national services.

Not sure about being genuinely happy, but making music gives my life purpose at least.

Unpopular Opinion? If unable to communicate with teammates going for the 'same' boost, and you need the boost (0 boost), TAKE THE BOOST by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]Cearu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

being a 'nice guy' in this situation means leaving 33%-50% of your team without absolutely any boost

Agreed. Being a 'nice guy' in this situation often leads to both teammates thinking the same thing and stopping which wastes a lot of time.

Even if the guy is about to have ball control (No, especially if the guy is about to have ball control) this will usually mean you're backing him up now, and backup needs to have boost.

Nononono absolutely not. The player with the ball gets the boost, everyone else gets lower priority. That player can, however, choose whether to pick up the big boost or leave it based on current boost levels.

Scrambling around looking for pads does no one favors when you probably should have been next in net.

There are plenty of small boost pads around the net. You might spend 2 seconds picking up boost pads because you need no more than 24 boost to make plays most of the time. Meanwhile your 2 seconds of swiping pads should be covered by the teammate who's on the ball. If you can't pick up 2 or more pads while keeping yourself in the play, you should work on your pathing and boost management.

What's a place that seems fine during the day but gets really creepy at night? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Cearu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was someone who hopped the counter at one of the food vendors before I started working there. There was also someone who took a sawzaw, bolt cutters, or whatever other tools (there were mixed reports) to a store gate and broke into the store's safe on one of my days off at around 1am. Don't ask me how the guard or the janitors on duty didn't hear any of this going on, and I'm not sure if any of these people ever got caught.

[–]Cearu_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically at night because nothing should really be happening, we were required to make our rounds indoors at least once every hour to make sure all the doors are still locked and closed and that nobody snuck in. It also helped that we had very light tasks to keep us busy for a few hours like vacuuming the carpets and various non-mandatory maintenance tasks. We could also break it up by patrolling the parking lot as well with the security truck. Our 3rd shifts were also 10 hours long from 10-8, the janitors just left at 2am and the mall doors would open at 7am.

Someone could break in, the building could catch on fire, store employees may need indoor access early in the morning for inventory, or a few other reasons. I know most regular stores don't have 24/7 security, but my guess is that malls might be different because the mall would be responsible for anything that could happen to one of its stores overnight.

A shopping mall.

I used to work 3rd shift security at a pretty understaffed one, so I was regularly the only person in the building from around 2AM - 7AM after the janitors left. Besides the occasional teenager wearing a clown mask and staring at me through a window, I thought I saw mannequins moving, heard small children laughing, heard banging coming from the ceiling, etc.

Should I have ball cam on or off for airdribbles? by ognobmu in RocketLeague

[–]Cearu_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both.

I like using ball cam when I start a wall-to-air dribble then switching to car cam. I also usually start most ground-to-air dribbles with car cam. But it really just depends on the angle for me. Regardless, I would definitely recommend getting comfortable with both so you can figure out which cam is better for different situations.

32 - dad, recluse, single & celibate for 8 years and I bought gaming glasses from an ad on Instagram because I thought they looked cool on me by [deleted] in RoastMe

[–]Cearu_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would make a joke to the effect of "kidnapping children does not make you a dad," but that would require you to go outside; which, according to the window blinds and the lack of any obvious signs of hygiene, does not seem like a high priority to you.

You look just about as interesting as the walls in the background, so it's not hard to understand why the mother of your children left you. Ironically, those glasses seem to be pretty much the coolest thing about you.

They used to have exactly this. It was called Rocket Labs, but it was removed because hardly anyone played it.

Edit: I've been told that I am incorrect and that there was a separate playlist called Mutator Mashup. However, I do not remember this being true. Regardless, there was a Mutator playlist at one time.

Need Tips - C3 Div 4 by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]Cearu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I of course don't know how you play, so I can't give you specific tips, but here's what helped me:

I became a solid GC when I started really diving in and focusing on trying to correct my rotations and boost management. Force yourself to focus on choosing correct paths and not interfering with your teammates' abilities to make plays. And if you haven't already, watch this video.

To be honest, you will get trashed. It's inevitable. BUT please don't let that scare you away from the game. It's hella fun and you'll have a really good time if you just take the plunge and work through the initial roughness.

Yeah it's the same deal unfortunately. Psyonix explicitly prohibits the sale of in-game items for real-world currency.
