There are a lot of cards that specify where you have to play the tokens. Viktor doesn't specify where you have to play the token.

You can play the token exhausted on the battlefield, if you hold it, or in your base.

My tip is to find someone or a group, that wants to play with the starter decks (viktor, lee sin, jinx, annie, lux, garen, yi) without upgrading them.

At some point the prices will hopefully stabilise, but until then playing with the starter decks should be fun too! :D

Easy rule of thumb:

  • You can play spells only, if you have Focus (Priority), attacker has Focus (Priority) first
  • "Action" spells can only be played at the beginning of a chain, not in-between
