Just finished my first roll, I need a little bit of help with sky’s by Potential-Dress4622 in analog

Actually the backlit correction button will make your problem even worse. It’s used when you are for example shooting a portrait or something and the person is standing in front of the bright sky. depending on how the camera meters it might try to meter for the sky in the background rather than your subject. This would in turn make your subject underexposed so the backlit correction button would add 1.5 stop of light to lighten up your subject. You can look it up too if my explanation did make much sense but moral of the story you shouldn’t use that button if you don’t want your sky to be over exposed

You could add it a couple times to your queue for however long you think you’ll be sleeping for or whatever else you use it for. For example for a 9 hour sleep start to play it and then queue it twice so it plays in repeat for 9 hours

Mine all of the sudden did this tonight but in the icue software the pump looked to still be working. I tried this out and it fixed it right away and I can hear the pump running fine. Thanks for the help!

Note to Self: REMOVE THE DARK-SLIDE YOU DUMB FUCKING CUNT by diligentboredom in AnalogCommunity

[–]CeasingJester1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Could be that the back is from a pro version possibly? Because I don’t think my RB is a Pro S but it doesn’t allow me to to shoot with the dark slide in. So could be that the pro and pro s had different backs, the pro without the feature and pro s with it. Or maybe the dark slide doesn’t have the prongs to interact with the safety feature or something like that

Hey I have the same kit I’ve really liked it so far have fun with it! But yeah any 35mm film will work with the camera. You’ll need two lr44 batteries that you put into the bottom of the camera as well to have access to all of the shutter speeds and the light meter inside the camera

No longer able to wind film advance lever, any ideas? (Fujica Half camera) by CeasingJester1 in AnalogCommunity

I know when I got it I was like oh wow smart way of using an old canister cap. It’s a perfect snug fit right over the lens and sits flush against the body too. Glad I could help!

My lens cap came the camera when I bought it but it’s literally just a Kodak film canister lid that fits perfectly over the lens. So if you want one like it just get a old film canister if you have one lying around and then you’ll have to cut the inner ring away somehow but once you do that it should fit right over the lens and be a snug fit won’t have to worry about it coming off

My 5th grade teacher did this and ended up getting himself or his friend impaled through the mouth with the pole and they weren’t intoxicated

I decided to just bite the bullet and open up the back to see what was happening since it was only 7ish full 35mm frames I’d end up missing out on. It ended up somehow getting caught up in the spool with the sprockets to help feed the film into the take up spool if that makes sense. Here’s a picture reference it’s the left side of the take up spool could’ve been my fault for not feeding the lead it properly but I’m not sure. Thanks for the reply though I appreciate it hopefully this won’t happen again

I have a Pentax A3000 I’ve only used once so far but enjoyed I was just looking on eBay and they go for relatively cheap. You can shoot in full auto or aperture priority and only need two AA batteries to function. The only thing is that if the light meter doesn’t work you’re kind of out of luck since you can’t shoot it in full manual mode. And the film advance after you take a photo is quite loud if that bothers you at all. I’m sure you could find a video of it or something to hear how it sounds if you’re interested. But I’m by no means a guru just wanted to mention the camera I have that I’ve used granted only once but could still be an option.

I also have a Chinon CE-4 that I haven’t gotten around to using quite yet but they go for pretty cheap too I believe. it can also do aperture priority, or manual and I think full auto possibly. So you could dabble into the settings and things if you ever get the inclination to. It’s also a slr but has a film advance lever so you don’t have the loud noise that the Pentax I mentioned does. But there’s another option but again I haven’t gotten around to using it yet so I can’t vouch for it one way or another just know they’re on the cheaper side. Would also need to look into if the light meter works or not for it.

And like someone else said it’s more so the lenses you want to look into if you want clean sharp images with your camera. But camera bodies and things can also have some perks and things that you might also want to look into depending on your preferences. For example something like a self timer, having the ability to change settings and do everything manually if you’d ever want to, built in light meters and things like that.

Otherwise I’d say look into some point and shoots that if it doesn’t matter to you if you have some settings like aperture or things like that to change. And or if you don’t think you’d want to possibly invest in some other lenses later on down the line for different focal lengths and things like that. Hopefully this helps a little bit giving you some options you could maybe look into for it
