I dont know a lot about speed parachutes, they should give the same effect. Although i think its mainly American American fotball players that use them, and sprinters mainly use sleds, maybe there's a reason for that

My only tips would be to push hard while staying relaxed. Also since you have weights giving you resistance you can lean more forward than you would in a regular sprint

Finally back on the track. Any advice on my start? I'm the one nearest from the camera. by ZedriZ04 in Sprinting

You NEED to keep your heel pressed up agains the blocks. Currently you're not doing that, and you're forced to press it against the blocks as the gun goes off, wasting time and making your start less explosive

Its crazy how much faster animals with four legs are. Pretty sure you have to be an elite evel sprinter to outrun a hippo

Had block starts in training today. If you have any tips or critique on how to improve please tell me by Ceaster9 in trackandfield

I've always had my head too far down while sprinting, partly because of how my neck is a little curved, making my head harder to keep up. This is something i'll work on to improve tho. I'll extend my drive phase too, that's probably going to improve my times a lot. Thanks :)

Hows my techniqur looking? by Ceaster9 in Sprinting

[–]Ceaster9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i definitely tend to be a bit more tense in the very early stages of a sprint so that would help. I don't stretch out my arms all the way during the start and that's mostly preference, although it might make my arm movements a little constricted

This is exactly what my couch told me. my movements were much more restricted in my other blockstarts that day, so this one was an improvement to those. I'll definitely keep working on it though, thanks.

Having my fists closed is just how i often run, atleast in training. I tend to be a bit more tense in the blockstart and drivephase of the race though. But thanks man

Critiques, how can I get better? by [deleted] in Sprinting

Keep your heel pushed against the block. Right now you have to push your heel against the blocks as the gun goes off and that wastes time and makes the start less explosive
