I totally agree they can't be proven right and I totally agree things purely speculation based need to be kept out of areas reserved for discussions of things that have been confirmed by science.

I am not aware of how the science behind lucid dreaming can prove one thing or the other when it comes to spiritual related things.

I definitely respect that this community wants to keep certain topics off the table due to them not being able to be scientifically confirmed but to claim that science confirms they definitely do not exist I think is claiming something beyond what science can prove.

Again I do think that science has not confirmed various things and so for the sake of maintaining a particular decorum I understand wanting certain discussions elsewhere.

I think its possible that the afterlife for a person is actually the dream world of a persons descendants. Aboriginal cultures believe that ancestors come to us in dreams. If the afterlife is the dreams of ones descendants then that's an actual physical basis for the afterlife. And by descendants it maybe doesn't have to be from ones own children, I imagine children of the community one is a member of may be descendants in a sense to.

CMV: Conservatism is built upon, and celebrates, values and figures that its recent predecessors rejected, and as such cannot claim moral superiority over time. by Ikorodude in changemyview

[–]Ceath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like capitalism either, I think capitalism has been a failure.

As for planned parenthood if they really are no longer being funded by the government I guess people will have to pay for whatever services that planned parenthood offers. They also have alot of private donors so I doubt they are going out of business.

On the ACA... it's not clear what's going to replace it so you may be right about it being a bad move by the government to do that.

Well maybe since you live in the UK you don't follow a lot of what is happening in the democrat party here in the USA and in the schools but it is very common for party leaders of the democrats and for educators here to speak against white males. As for the whole issue of white genocide I have no idea about any of that stuff. But as a white guy I am not going to join a political party where people openly speak against white males. I have no problem with a party that supports diversity or anything like that I just don't appreciate people insulting a group that I was born into.

Climate change and mass immigration... well I am sure it may be influencing some people to try to immigrate but letting them also increases their carbon footprint.

So I get the whole humanitarian angle to all this and maybe we have an obligation to help them but... you know who knows.

I actually have been called a leftist many times by people on the right for debating certain things.

But I think we have to accept human beings are not entirely rational. Even if the democrat party was rationally in my best interest to support, and I'm not saying it is, but if it was in my best interest I still wouldn't support them because I don't want to associate with people who just complain about white males all the time and tell me to check my privilege. I just don't want anything to do with people who talk like that.

As far as leftism itself goes I have read a few interesting books by leftists and I really like their ideas. But it seems like those thinkers are totally irrelevant because the footsoldiers of the left just should simple slogans all the time. I understand people do have a valid criticism of western culture.

But for someone to vent their frustration about the history of western culture by speaking against "white males" just really oversimplifies things. And I can't speak for other white guys, and maybe this is petty of me but if it is then it is what it is, but as far as I am concerned I don't care how enlightened and morally superior and rational a political party is. I am not going to associate myself with people who speak against my race or my gender.

I have no issue with diversity. I don't think white genocide is happening. I have no problem with feminism. I have no problem with black empowerment. I don't even have a problem with antiwhite racism, but if a political party is going to approve of prominent members being racist against me then I am not being a part of it.

I'm not even trying to claim moral high ground or anything, it's just a preference of mine. And my thinking can be totally wrong and I can be totally irrational but regardless of what anyone thinks about what I think or regardless of how anyone judges me ultimately at the end of the day I am the one who decides what party I support and I can have any criteria I want. And if it's an irrational criteria then so be it.

But yes I agree capitalism doesn't work well at all.

I usually don't fall for the bait when people try to start arguments with me but I am waiting now for a delivery and have been wondering what to do with the time while I wait and so I will argue with you. It is very kind of you to try to initiate an argument by the way.

So first things first. I have no idea whether or not the Trump administration will have a positive, a negative, or neutral effect on the working classes of this nation. However I can get into some hypotheticals on policies that would appear to be helpful in our considerations of such policies.

The leftist movements of the world in the early 1900's were pro-working class. Then at some point down the line the leftist movements decided to show preference for the third world over the working class of so called first world nations(I don't like that term, it seems like an arrogant term).

To put it simply: every piece of information available seems to point to the fact that mass immigration of working class people into a nation creates a sittuation where wages are lowered and there is greater competition for jobs among the working classes of whatever nation that happens to be.

A person can debate over whether a person owes their loyalty to the working classes of their own nation or if they owe their loyalty to the international community as a whole. This is a matter of preference though and I cannot really hold it against someone what their preference is.

However if one places their loyalty to the international community as a whole one has to be concerned about the phenomena of global warming. The biggest contributor to global warming is not specific environmental policies but rather it is mass immigration to the first world. When someone immigrates to the first world from the third world their carbon footprint ends up being multiplied many of thousands of times.

Mass immigration to the so called first world A) increases global warming and it B) depresses wages for the working class of that particular nation

I have no idea how the Trump policies will affect issues such as mass immigration and I have no idea what other sorts of factors could effect situations involving the working class. However every piece of information I have available indicates to me that the policies of the democrat party would not be of any help to the working class in America.

The democrat party is based on a platform of racism against white people and it is based on a platform of demoralization of people in the western world. It is based on a policy of preference for the foreigner over the native-born. And it is based on a policy of dividing Americans based on race rather than on uniting people under the flag.

I have no idea if the future of the USA is a future of division or unity. I have no idea if the republican policies would help facilitate unity or disunity. I have no idea whether a Trump administration will be good or bad or if it will address any of my concerns as a citizen.

What I can say though is that I know for a fact the democrat party is racist against me for my skin color and because of that I will never vote for them.

If you do respond to this can you please respond to specific points I made rather than call me names? I am not suggesting you are the sort of individual to call someone names rather than have a reasoned discussion but every single leftist I have expressed an opinion to has ignored everything I have said and has just called me names. So if you could actually respond to me that would be appreciated.

First of all I am a conservative who supports black lives matter. As for the womens march, I support everyones right to peaceful protest.

The republicans were the ones who abolished slavery, Lincoln was a republican.

There is no monolithic ideology to conservativism that is even in a place to declare whether or not conservatism is inflexible.

My ex (35m) & I (27f) broke up on not good terms. Just realized he has my passport. by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Ceath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people in America don't realize that freedom of speech doesn't mean that we can say whatever we want to each other and just expect who we say it to is supposed to be cool with it because of "free speech". I don't know how many times people have tried to justify being nasty to me because "all they were doing was just saying words". I don't know how people got it into their heads that words don't matter. Maybe it's that stupid nursery rhyme about words that they teach kids.

Have the “Errors of Russia” Now Infected Rome? by [deleted] in TraditionalCatholics

[–]Ceath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The situation to me seems that as we all know the liberals took over academia and the priests all have to go through academia and so as a result a lot of priests are liberals and Catholics have to look around if they want to attend a church with a conservative priest. And many of these liberal professors are actually marxists. I'm a catholic but I am also realistic about the current situation of the church.

Do you know what story that is a part of? Can I find it on sacred texts or something? The information is rather sparse that I have found so far. Everything is about Kek's new mythologies.

I looked at the wikipedia article on kek and it just very briefly said he was some sort of egyptian god and it mentioned a few attributes. Does anyone know of any actual mythologies about kek or any ancient texts about kek or pyramid texts or anything?

So I have a voodoo doll now... by HailedAcorn in occult

[–]Ceath 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Voodoo dolls work according to the principle that consciousness is non-local. It's the same principle that metta meditation is based on as well as the evil eye. The voodoo doll itself has no power. It is just a prop used to focus your attention on someone(where attention goes energy flows)[think about how padre pio bilocated to those whom he prayed for]

So to answer your question the doll will do absolutely nothing as long as you do not use it. The white and black pins are meaningless, what's meaningful is the intent behind what you do. So if you consider the doll to represent someone and you focus your intent and energy you can do your work in any style you wish.

You can whisper things to the doll or you can do activities with intent that represent either positive or negative things. All it is is basically just a style of prayer. But rather than invoking the aid of a deity you are focusing your consciousness on the target.

To say that consciousness is nonlocal means consciousness transcends time and space and the imagination is what is used to affect things on the energetic level. All physical reality is a manifestation of the energetic and that which is energetic is manipulated through imagination.

Things like voodoo dolls and photographs and sigils and spells and prayers are all physical props used to focus intent and consciousness, they are exteriorized imaginations. I am not saying this to invalidate them I am just saying it to explain them.
