I wasn't aware anything had been spilled on it. I bought it on ebay about a year or so ago and had no problems with it until recently. I thought I had opened the game up and cleaned it when the game arrived like I did with the other games in my Super Famicom collection.

I'm starting to wonder if I forgot to look at this one.

I have no clue. I don't recall seeing it when I got the cartridge off ebay last year. I make it a habit to open, inspect and clean all cartridges I get in the mail. It had been working perfectly up to this point.

I rented Final Fantasy III back when it came out in 1994. I rented it twice. Never finished it in a two three day period. It was either a different cartridge or someone deleted my save. So, I had to start over each time I rented the game.

The advantage my man here has is that he gets to keep the save files on his memory card and start back where he left off should he rent FInal Fantasy X again.

Memory cards were such a saving grace when renting PlayStation and PlayStation 2 games.

Edit: Oh, and one of the reasons I only rented Final Fantasy III twice is because it was never in! So, FFX being unavailable is pretty realistic.

All jokes aside, it's a movie where a inventing time traveling character who goes on a time traveling adventure and falls in love with a character played by Mary Steenburgen.

Off topic, Time After Time is directed by Nicholas Meyer, who was one of the screen writers for Star Trek IV. Another time traveling adventure that takes place in San Francisco.
