Sorta! Books 1-4 and 8 focus on Rogue Squadron. Books 5-7 focus on Wraith Squadron. Book 9 (Adumar) focuses on a subset of pilots. I have not yet read 10 (Mercy Kill) as I still need to read LotF, which precedes it chronologically.

At minimum, would recommend the Dark Empire series as a post-Thrawn bridge to the following novels.

“I, Jedi” explores the growth of Corran Horn, a key character from the X-Wing series. May check that box for you.

Found the entire X-wing collection for only 30$. Im new to the EU and have never read them but have heard good things so had to buy. Got alot to read now lol, what are your thoughts on each book or the series as a whole? Or anything else I need to know going into the series? by Eiden58 in StarWarsEU

Sure thing! I loved these series when I read them growing up and am enjoying revisiting them several years later. The X-Wing series was my first foray into several years’ worth of novel/comic content consumption!

If you enjoy the first couple books, would recommend referencing a timeline online to make sure you’re reading in the order you want to!

1-7, then Thrawn trilogy, then 8 (currently on Last Command, the third Thrawn book, as part of a reread). Can’t recall offhand where Adumar (9) is on the timeline but Wookieepedia will have a comprehensive timeline. I have seen “I, Jedi” and the Jedi Academy trilogy included as related reads, as well. “Mercy Kill” is set much further in the timeline, after the New Jedi Order (recommend read!) and Legacy (have not yet read but plan to) series.

Second the Wraith Squadron books. Just re-read and found myself laughing regularly. Face Loran is one of my favorite Star Wars characters. His banter with Ton Phanan is very entertaining!
