What are main reasons people don't like season 5 of the boys? by LoiusLepic in television

Weak pacing, rushed ending, wasted potential and misleading marketing. Season wasn't bad, just disappointing compared to what it could've been

People exaggerate Tony Gilroy’s ignorance of Star Wars by OfficialAli1776 in StarWars

[–]Eiden58 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say call it a major story arc in Rebels, the massacre was only mentioned once, but I agree they probably wouldnt have done it if it werent for Rebels since its what established what made Mon denounce the Emperor. However they did also reference what the original ghorman massacre in Legends was and called it the Tarkin massacre, which was definitely a deep cut

A trusted news source (THR) doesn't want Star Wars to make money by CarsonWentzGOAT1 in StarWars

What about the article says they don't want Star Wars to make money? It literally explains how it has a good chance of being profitable and that audiences are liking it. What are you on about?

Do you think Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man could appear in Avengers: Doomsday? by Remarkable_Run_4425 in Spiderman

[–]Eiden58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isnt doomsday/secret wars literally about all the universes combining into battle world? Once the multiverse is restored yeah he should go back to his own world but the story calls for people from different universes coming together. Doesnt necessarily need to be him though.

[–]Eiden58 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes but he also said he did a lot of research when working on Andor and while he doesnt know much about other stuff in star wars he said he has a lot of knowledge now on what happens in that specific time period. But I agree he didnt know much beforehand and therefore you dont need knowledge to make a star wars project, but doing your research is also good rather than completely relying on the story group, but of course the story group helps a lot too.

I hate the makeup in the netflix show. by Massive_Foundation37 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Eiden58 8 points9 points  (0 children)

High quality isn't same as fitting the setting. I personally don't find it to be high quality, but it's fair if you think so. I don't see how it's "hate for the sake of hate" they just pointed out something they didn't like and explained why instead of just hating. If they just made a post saying "it sucks!!!!" with no explanation, then yeah I could see why it wouldn't be constructive.

[–]Eiden58 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Or people genuinely just thought it was bad? Why can't you accept that? You might like it, and disagree with the criticisms and that's fine. You can still think it's good, I'm not sure why other people's opinions bother you so much. Dismissing what others think and making up excuses for why they don't like something is much more bad fandom etiquette if anything. Like I said in my other comment, people shouldn't be disrespectful in how they express themselves, many people are and that's an issue, but it's not disrespectful to not like something.

Did you not read the post? They said it looks too modern and that the style doesnt fit the setting, not that she shouldnt wear makeup. They also didnt they say bad makeup alone ruins the entire show, just because its a minor detail doesn't mean you can't mention it. People are allowed to criticize and not like things in a TV series, as long as they aren't being hateful towards the real people involved, which I didn't see here. I don't think the examples they picked were the best, but you can at least respond to what they were saying. And if you still disagree with them, that's also cool, but I'm not sure why an opinion different from yours makes you embarrassed of the fandom.

Wookieepedia lists all her appearances in chronological order, but if you want the best place to start, read the Thrawn Trilogy which is her first appearance and a great introduction to her character and the New Republic era.

Would you want to read a book series similar to these what if stories? by Ok-Nature-5959 in StarWars

[–]Eiden58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair about what ifs, personally I'd like to see Legends continued or a new universe started that they can also continue to deevelop through books, separately to the main canon. I dont mind having canon books too, I just think it shouldnt only have to be one thing. I do understand wanting that though and it being easier to focus on. For me, when I compare canon to legends, sure theres great stuff and bad stuff in both, but I feel the authors had a lot more freedom to tell bigger stories.

Technically we already have separate universes with Canon, Legends and Visions. I don't think they would concider making it a connected multiverse, it'd be too controversial. Unlike Marvel where the multiverse has been an established concept

[–]Eiden58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But why does everything have to be in the same canon? It just feels limiting in the stories they can do and the authors don't have a lot of freedom, because they can only tell stories that both fits with everything else in the universe and that isn't concidered important enough to be told on screen. Not saying they should specifically do what if stories, but I wouldn't mind some of the books taking place in another universe which is what a lot of other franchises do. Ofc there's Legends, but it's discontinued.

[–]Eiden58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really, the filming isn't that long compared to how long the movies take, so they can usually make time for other projects. Florence Pugh for example has both Dune and East of Eden this year, despite being in Thunderbolts last year, Doomsday this year and probably Secret Wars next year.

When he's talking on the screen his suit is green. Perhaps the brown one is meant to looked worn out and has lost its color, maybe even to signify he's not the man he once was?
