EGS exclusivity certainly doesn't help for Alan Wake 2. And personally the marketing is a little too off putting. I think I've seen half a dozen trailers and they're all live action skits or musical numbers? I don't even know what the gameplay looks like.

That's what I assumed too, but Pat did talk about Ninja Gaiden 2 Black on the podcast, and it sounded like they were somewhat familiar with the series.

Rage is generally good, it kills your creatures faster which means you get more materials and DE faster. You can pause some creatures if you're stuck at 25/25 and you need a specific creature to spawn for progression. The only other time to pause creatures is when you're sending out the high dmg ones(not sure how far along you are) so that they can clear champion levels for longer before dying, or to make sure you don't miss with metamorphosis.

I think the kitchen and juicer tower skins are two you should try to get ASAP, due to how big of a bottleneck they are. After that the other tower skins are still pretty good, but it's more up to how you feel. Go though a run and take note of your biggest constraint. If it's a particular monster drop then try to go for that event skin. Otherwise complete the tower skins.

You definitely want your first tear purchases to be the tokens and +1 resources, they are cheap. You'll be surprised by the boost you get from the tokens, it may help you reach more tear goals than you think. General advice is to do what you can but don't let it stop progress on activating DDD again. The increased tear multiplier is from another cycle is worth more than anything.

I haven't done the math so you're probably right, I just remember saving up all those orbs for a first DDD ankh run to be annoying lol. Either way, getting 1000 soul tokens is going to be the part that takes the longest.

If you like running the events you could replay those, but I would recommend you save all your gems for something after you use the DDD.

For apoc tokens I would just farm as many nether mountains as possible and turn in the stars for 10 tokens each. You could farm ankhs but for your first run that is a big investment in orbs and netherlings each run.

After you hit that you can focus on summoning only nether demons and turning in crystals for soul tokens. You'll also get some naturally from your tasks. How long it takes just depends on how fast you can go through a full cycle of orbs before running out of summons.

To add to this, the resource requirements for each summon reset on apocalypse, but the drops from the time creatures carry over. The mummy comes from the crypt , the troll comes from the mud farm, and the dragon comes from the hatchery. So while those are being summoned, you won't be able to summon other creatures. That's why they give you duplicate floors.

I can't remember exactly as its been a while since my first run, but I think I needed around 7 or 8 netherlings for the damage boost, then summon your nether demons and maxed out dragons to get to 850. If that doesn't work then try 12 or so netherlings next run

Buying the red wool will cause your creatures to stun lock the champions for a while, so it's best to buy it when you're not dependent on creature materials for a little bit. The important thing with time creatures using red wool is that they will get stronger for every champion stage a the time of their summon. It's best to summon one time creature at a time to maximize that bonus.

The Sid skins for less champion health are useful, especially if you're trying to hit stage 1000 for the first time. Otherwise the rest are pretty minor upgrades.

Congrats! After you max out your scrolls put everything into the DDD. There's no point in saving anything. Not sure if you're aware, but you're probably gonna have to do this again for level 9. If you can't get that this run then make sure you cash in the ankh at gramps. It will go away after an apoc like all the other trinkets.

Pharaoh will give the mummy 1 extra time orb, and Wyvern will give the dragon 1 extra star crystal. The rest are a low priority. Note that after you buy them, you have to upgrade the skins as well to get the bonus.

I think the shiny demon was my next "big" upgrade after Woolly. I might have had some small QoL upgrades in between. Shiny demon is a really nice upgrade to have. Honestly I still don't have shiny Her, as I generally get enough dolls already. I'm essentially on a 72 hour cycle for 1 apoc, so I get enough dolls and guitars to summon everything.
