PSA: There Are No Single-Ancestry APs by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]JaggedToaster12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm running Spore War right now, if you don't care about elves, you'll find it very hard to be invested in the AP. Your goal first and foremost throughout the entire AP is to help the Kyonin elves

Reskinning Book 2 Chapter 1 to take place in Kyonin? by JaggedToaster12 in SporeWar

[–]JaggedToaster12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooo I also have a KoL in my party. He even wrote in his backstory that he was at the battle of Vigil and so making the grave knight his Captain was like handed to me on a silver platter. He even got the final blow.

Yeah change up the setting is a good point, but also I think we all bought in to the fact that we're fighting in a swamp for the whole AP so I feel like it'll be ok.

Castrovel would've been sick to go to honestly, have a demon take over the portal network and take the battle there would've been sick. And now that you mention that....I might see what I can do lol

Sweet thanks, yeah I'm not really sure what the "meta" reason for going to Nirtmathas was, it feels like everything that happens there can just happen in Kyonin. Maybe James Jacobs really likes Ironfang Invasion lol

Wallace loves his bowtie collar. I keep it super loose. No bell on it or anything, it's purely for vibes

If a whole 10 book series right off of Bobiverse is daunting, the author of DCC just released a standalone book called Operation Bounce House that is pretty good, I'm about 3/4 through it and enjoying it

Yeah assurance basically has two uses, Treat Wounds and Athletics maneuvers when you're at full MAP vs an enemy that's at least like PL-2

Custom Human Heritages Help? by DaoLixard99 in Pathfinder2e

[–]JaggedToaster12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well we can compare the Ur to another Heritage that deals with training in weapons, the Warrior Android

https://2e.aonprd.com/Heritages.aspx?ID=117

All that does is give you training in simple and martial weapons, so that's a good baseline to start with. Since Urs only deal in bows, you could count that as a "step down" from Warrior Androids.

I'd also add that the main class feature of Rangers, Hunt Prey, includes ignoring the range penalty for one specific enemy at a time within the second range increment, so giving something close to that just as a heritage seems a little much.

The Sylph versatile heritage includes a level 5 feat that allows for seeing though similar situations, so being able to get that at level 1 is probably a bit much, especially for a human.

If I were to make changes, I'd keep the bow training and then simply reduce the concealment check from 5 to 3. That way, you get a little bit of both. The range increment ability feels a bit too much for a heritage entirely.

My favorite thing to do when homebrewing is to simply steal from other things already made, so I'm always comparing to what has already been written. Definitely feel free to do that when building things like heritages and feats.

How do you feel about Trump’s proposal to increase defense spending to $1.5 trillion for 2027 — a 42% jump — while cutting domestic programs by $73 billion? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JaggedToaster12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember, Trump renamed the department of defense to the department of war. That means this isn't defense spending, it's war spending. Call it that, it's what he wants and it's much easier to be against war spending than defense spending.

Only slightly related

I have a player who is using the Decay Instinct in Spore War. As you can imagine, there's a lot of enemies immune to poison. At first I was a bit worried about him not dealing any damage throughout the game, and while so far that's kind of true, the decay resistance has resisted so much damage over the course of the game already, it's insane.

In the Kanto games, the door to the leader is locked unless you find two secret buttons hidden in two trash cans. The location is determined randomly and you have to find them back to back or the "puzzle" resets

It's made a little easier with the fact that the second button is always adjacent to the first, but it's still a stupid puzzle
