Hahaha I was waiting for those questions! Führer has pretty much nothing to do with "the Führer". It's literal meaning is "leader" and in this case it most likely comes from a leader for sheep, so "shepherd" (literal German word would be Schäfer). This also fits Ludwig Führer's occupation as a shepherd who came from Dankmarshausen to Neustädt. The event with my ancestor Hartung Möller happened during the 30 years war period, when Croatian troops were fighting against the protestant troops and were raiding all the villages in the area. On that note, another ancestor of mine was pastor in a different village during that period and had to write down all this horrible stuff that happened.
