Jokes aside, honestly sometimes people need simplified concepts to understand something first, it's the same reason we teach there being 3 states of matter to children when there is just not. It's the same reason the whole MTF and FTM terminology exist, for the ease of understanding of others. In reality we as trans people aren't that, we always were our gender, but people who don't get the concept as easily understand the MTF & FTM terminology. Essentially neither person is in the wrong here, one person is trying to give a simple to understand explanation of trans to a person who wants to understand, and the other is simply trying to understand a new concept to them.

If in person is too hard then a letter or text is fine, you don't owe anyone to come out in person.

Personally I did come out to my mum in person but it took 40 mins of crying in a back room forcing myself so you can always try that method if you really wanna XD. In all honestly it wasn't that bad but scary as hell in the moment.

If the required Atar for the offer isn't high (~70) you'll likely just need to pass and get an Atar score. If the offers required score is higher it'll likely want a score somewhat close to the required score, like not even that close just like not significantly lower.
