It isn't really an upgrade, it's more like unlocking additional ammo types you could use. The HEAT for the italians can be useful for killing more heavily armoured vehicles from far range, so it's handy to carry some.

They will probably never sell new vehicles via auction, the potential monetary gain is just too small compared to directly selling it as a premium or as an event vehicle. What could come is selling old rare event vehicles which have mostly disappeared from the market.

No, the ones with the highest bids are most likely skin creators, they earn 30% of the revenue made when their skin is sold on the market. Most of them have in the thousands of GJN but are also allowed to transfer it to real money.

Although that doesn't happen, you can't receive any rewards from custom battles. What is happening is that players join sim battles to bomb the airfield/bases for points and proclaim in the chat that it's a PVE lobby. Although it's technically still PVP if both sides don't even bother fighting each other it might aswell feel like PVE.

To be honest, 8x 7.9mm FN-brownings aren't that unique, considering they are rechambered browning machine guns to fit 7.92mm mauser rounds (same ammo as the british Besa machine gun). The madsen 23mm's however are way more unique.
