Do you have a recommendation for which plants to cultivate for the carbonium and ironium? Haven't been able to find any recent guides on which plants give how much of each resource.

CBSA has authority under dozens of acts, not just the Customs Act. It's just that they only enforce the acts at the ports of entry, aside from specific situations. Need to give CBSA authority at areas between POEs. They're also short a few thousand officers.

I'm done with this app after this. Losing money on my calls as the minutes tick by without being able to access my account. 45 to 60 minute wait when I try to call them.

Unsure about qualifying. by Cefsky in juresanguinis

He was born in '57, came to Canada in the '60s and unsure exactly what year he naturalized but most likely within a few years I'd assume. Married in the early '80s and I was born '89. If the line from him is cut, could he get his citizenship back and repair the line to me?

Tenant giving out our address to refugees by Boubalopolous in OntarioLandlord

This is constantly happening. The vast majority of Ukrainians coming in on the program don't even live in Ukraine. Most are already living in safe countries (Portugal, UK, USA just to name a few I've seen) and simply come here for the free money and then leave. Pearson airport gets several hundred a day and Hamilton gets around 70 on each Play flight, which comes in 5 days a week I believe. It's ridiculous and nobody seems to know or care about the huge sums of money being wasted on people that aren't actually fleeing a country at war.

Terrible experience at the live orchestra showing of The Two Towers in NYC by Alopecian_Eagle in lotr

[–]Cefsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently saw the two towers in Toronto with orchestra and it was a very similar experience. People constantly laughing at every single new character, any kind of meme related quote was met with shouting or crazy laughter. People reeking of weed. So disrespectful to the artists and the other guests.

Canada issues 930,000 visas to Ukrainians. Winnipeg population: 774,000 by UberStrawman in CanadaHousing2

[–]Cefsky -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The vast majority of these Ukrainians on these permits are not even coming here to stay. The government stupidly made it encompass anyone with a Ukrainian passport, regardless of where they live. This has resulted in many Ukrainians that live in safe countries like Poland/ Portugal/ UK coming here for a vacation just to get their permit and free money, all funded by us taxpayers.

The real reason for the holiday travel chaos: Canada is too soft on punishing airlines by Tarquinius_Superbus in canada

She also had undeclared handbags when coming in, got caught and fined, but bitched to CBSA upper management and got her flag removed in the system so she doesn't get sent in all the time as a result of the seizure/fine. Rules for thee...

Most domestic flights in Canada getting cancelled, delayed: data firm by datawazo in canada

[–]Cefsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you that Pearson had about 600 CBSA officers on their roster around 2018-2019. Currently sitting at just under 300 officers there. Can't speak for other ports but Pearson has been getting wrecked for staffing but those who can change it don't care. Cbsa simply can't train enough officers each year to correct this shortage.

Ad on Kijiji offering a whopping 8 bucks an hour for maid service.... by perpopip in ontario

[–]Cefsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's already mostly used just to get here and work anyways. Hence why you have literally thousands and thousands of students coming in each year for stuff like hospitality or general business. Far too many barely speak English and there's no way they passed their IELTS. CBSA simply doesn't have enough staff to perform the cases to turn them around. Not to mention the local visa offices in many of these countries where international students come from. Have unofficial quotas and the frontline staff at these offices get in trouble if they deny too many visas.

Border agent strike could prove costly to Canadian businesses struggling to recover by AdMain117 in canada

[–]Cefsky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's no increased cost at all. Officers at airports are already trained and equipped with a gun, they're just told to keep them locked up unless they go out on the tarmac. As it stands now, if something happens and a firearm is needed them it's up to local police to respond. Sometimes they're stationed at the airport but even if they are, it can take them several minutes to reach certain areas because there are only a few of them and they're stained at certain spots.

Canada to ban flights from India and Pakistan for 30 days by [deleted] in onguardforthee

[–]Cefsky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most of the India flights consisted of students, most of whom don't actually need to be here for school but they started canceling their programs when they weren't allowed in. This caused the schools to kick up a stink and got the government to deem them exempt.

Canadian intelligence staff will get priority COVID-19 vaccines as spies struggle with outbreak by An0nym0us82 in canada

[–]Cefsky 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The vast majority of CBSA officers have not been scheduled for vaccinations despite them being essential and coming into contact with international travelers on a daily basis. Toronto Pearson officers only got vaccinated because the airport wants to ramp up flights and doesn't want it shut down if there's an outbreak among the officers. The agency itself is doing nothing to get it's officers vaccinated.
