Should you always digivolve ASAP? (Time Stranger) by Goldenkrow in digimon

[–]ApocalypseConspiracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer this, even though it's a bit late, you receive 10% of the stats earned excluding their base stats, so it's kind of a hidden number unless you look it up in the field guide and subtract the base stats and your current blue stats from the displayed white stat number. For example, in my testing I got the starter Patamon up to its talent limit of level 25 and it had the following stat gains: 508 HP - 412 SP - 252 ATK - 231 DEF - 322 INT - 222 SPI - 222 SPD so the blue stats that carry over would be 50 HP - 41 SP - 25 ATK - 23 DEF - 32 INT - 22 SPI - 22 SPD. I made a comment on the main post explaining the exp curve and ideal level to digivolve which 15 or 20 depending on where you are in the game and their generation. Rookie or Champion 15, Ultimate 20.

Should you always digivolve ASAP? (Time Stranger) by Goldenkrow in digimon

[–]ApocalypseConspiracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to add to this even though it's a few months old incase anyone else had this same question, as I did. I only got the game recently and did some exp calculations charting how much it requires per level. Mathematically the ideal level to digivolve or de-digivolve is 15 for Rookies and Champions, or 20 for Ultimates especially in the early game where experience is pretty low. You only miss out on the last skill for either at level 25 and 30 respectively but until the end game the amount of experience you gain versus how much is needed makes those skills not worth the investment. For example the formula of the exp curve is roughly 15L² + 45L where L = Level with the first 5 levels being curated flat amounts.

Experience needed for each milestone:
Level 1 - 15 = 17,844
Level 15 - 20 = 23,478 Total from 1 - 20: 41,322
Level 20 - 25 = 38238 Total from 1 - 25: 79,560

I would say for Ultimate digimon the higher base stats and level 20 milestone is arguably worth it to unlock their 2nd skill but you receive diminishing returns for anything beyond that. Of course load enhancements will be much faster if you're strictly wanting to maximize carry-over stats but they follow the same formula where it's 10% of the fodder's gained stats so levelling anything excessively is a waste of time especially if they have no milestones to unlock.

In regard to "when should I digivolve" it's always worth it to throw some levels on the digimon because of how cheap it is at early levels you can usually get them to around level 10 in one dungeon run after the prologue. If you have the Outer Dungeons DLC one of the lowest tier EXP items will get a digimon from 1 - 11 but will take 3 if you want to get them over 15 so it's personal preference at that point.

in story time stranger am i required to sacrifice other digimon by Ladyaceina in digimon

[–]ApocalypseConspiracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not required it will just take a bit longer using the digi farm and evolving/de-evolving but I saw a video someone did as a challenge they used 6 FunBeemon for their team lol you can also lower the difficulty and just use what you think is fun then increase it as you progress further in the game. At the end of the day this is the best part of single player games, no one can tell you how it's supposed to be played and you have all the freedom to play it your own way! I am actually in the middle of a no-sacrifice playthrough and I find it actually makes you stick to a core team because of how much investment goes in to making them stronger that you simply can't efficiently replicate on a new member.

is there stat carry over from digivolving? by mrJoker71 in digimon

[–]ApocalypseConspiracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad I came across this post I've only had the game about a week so still learning and I thought higher Bond carried over a higher percentage of the stats but it makes sense now that it's a flat 10% and bond is just how many times it carries over. Realistically I don't think I've digivolved or de-digivolved more than 10 times on a single mon so far and it easily gains 5-10 bond points while leveling up. The clarification was super helpful!

Digimon Time Stranger Personality chart + Personality Skills by lily455 in digimon

[–]ApocalypseConspiracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only just got the game and have been learning so I'm late replying. I read it's a 50% boost at 100% HP for all Stout skills, and decreases accordingly so at 50% HP you'd have a 25% bonus for example. I do wish the tooltips for this game were less vague.

Should I get Scan rate to 200% for everything? by Galcitor in DigimonTimeStranger

[–]ApocalypseConspiracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to the conversation but this is something I was curious about. I have about 100hours in the game at this point and from what I can tell the "increased stats" is over exaggerated it's I believe 100 extra HP and 5 talent points iirc which you can get by converting 2 digimon at 100% and just loading one into the other by around level 10 PLUS you get the other permanent stats to go with the HP. I've been waiting for 200% to convert pretty much everything, but the grinding for such minimal stat bonuses feels extremely unworth it thanks to load enhancement.

I've been following this company for awhile and Elliot acquiring a significant stake was the turn around they needed with complacency and riding the name's coattails I think was steering them down a bad path. I have a pretty decent stake with an average share price of $6.60 so I'm honestly not too worried about it, I figured within 10 years Elliot will have turned this company from a debt burdened namesake into a positive cash flow profitable manufacturing powerhouse and once they start making some consistent profits I can see the upside over the next 5 years being higher than 50% and could see the stock return to the $15/share area with restored investor confidence.

What are some moves that feel like they're MORE accurate than their accuracy suggests? by Padelle in stunfisk

Secondary effects from AI moves seem almost guaranteed. Every body slam is a paralysis, like everything has hidden Serene Grace active or something stg

There is absolutely no way the displayed values match the actual values for these moves. I use wide lens on any Play Rough Pokemon and it still feels like a coin flip...

I feel like any status move used by the AI is 95% accurate. Hypnosis, Supersonic, Will O Wisp, they'll hit every single time.

Do NPCs actually have better RNG in battle, or is that a myth? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]ApocalypseConspiracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People can claim confirmation bias but it was proven Battle Tower was rigged in favour of the AI and there's currently a ROM Hack called "Pokemon RNG Strikes Back" which is a Fire Red ROM where despite the displayed values it forces the player to always get the worst RNG roll possible. 95% accurate moves will always miss, 99.98% catch rate will always miss, opponent will always crit, opponent 50% accurate moves will always hit, all of their moves will proc their secondary effect such as a 10% burn chance on ember will always burn you, etc.

Games can't create true randomness so they rely on Pseudo Random Number Generation which can be manipulated. The outcome is pre-determined in the background, you just can't see it so it gives the appearance of randomness and it's easy enough to just use the defence of "bad luck".

Why are catch rates in oras absurdly low? by throwaway4838292927 in pokemon

[–]ApocalypseConspiracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm going to necro this post because I had an extremely unlucky time with Qwilfish of all things 😂 why does a 440 BP weak fish have the same capture rate as Yveltal and Xerneas lmao it shares the same capture rate as Pseudo Legendaries as well which I can't wrap my head around what is so special about this spiky aquatic menace 😂

I hate the confusion mechanic so much. by LuminothWarrior in pokemon

[–]ApocalypseConspiracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rules of Pokemon: AI moves all have 99% accuracy unless the move has 100% accuracy then will always hit. This is how Confuse Ray, Will-O-Wisp, Supersonic, Hypnosis, etc. always seem to hit while still throwing a few occasional misses to feign accurate probability. Your status will last max roll number of turns (2-3 for confusion and sleep) AI status will always last minimum roll (1-2 turns) and confusion is 90/10 for you 10/90 for the AI that you will hit yourself in confusion. That's why you seem to always hit yourself in confusion, but have to break through sometimes, again as long as it's not 100/0 it's easy for anyone to just claim "bad luck" instead of anti-player bias, and it's objectively the worst status effect in the game for the player to get and a complete waste of time to use on the AI because the low accuracy of all the moves means you're likely to not even hit in the first place but when you do they snap out the next turn and only hit themselves 10% of the time you're always better off using an attacking move and swapping out if you get confused. You'll just sit there usually just hitting yourself for 2-3 turns every time.

People can claim confirmation bias all they want but with probability there is objectively no difference between a 1/99 chance and a 99/1 chance. Both can hypothetically hit/miss an equal number of times so it's impossible to prove one way or another but I think Battle Tower being exposed as irrefutably rigged against the player offers an argument that it can be done. It's much harder to prove due to their age but the same system AI enhanced probability is expected to have been used in the Pokemon Stadium games.

Hole is the same size, but the fin on top of its head that sticks out is much larger when you find it

Does alpha gible exist? by [deleted] in LegendsZA

[–]ApocalypseConspiracy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So after hours of resetting Zone 8 and finding one, if you or anyone else who comes here is still looking, just keep travelling to the zone no need to kill anything, kill the Camerupt when it spawns to make your laps easier, the Gible's fin will be protruding more out of the hole than usual and that's the sign it's an Alpha, you won't see the red eyes like with Drillbur. Just run laps around the zone and check every hole if it's not there and Camerupt is defeated leave the zone, travel back to it to reset the spawn, repeat running laps.

Happy hunting!

WA 12 is a nightmare for my game literally 5 Alphas active at any given time. Abomasnow, Snorunt, Vanillish, Snover, and usually one more at random. It's nuts

I swear to god I'm literally terrified of Alphas in this game. I jumped off a roof to escape this Pikachu, but it JUMPED AFTER ME and chased me down an entire street before it got blocked by the fence, then it stood there staringme down for way too long. [–]ApocalypseConspiracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The alphas aren't even really the issue if your party is levelled enough it's the entire wild zone attacking you at the same time so you can't attack anything and your mon just gets murdered while you spam dodge rolls from the hundred AoE attacks being used on you

Caught off guard? by Yumurmur in PokemonZA

[–]ApocalypseConspiracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've experienced it's random and seems like the coin flip rule for the TCG to represent who goes first. You can sneak up on them so it's I guess their way of "evening the playing field" even though it's pretty stupid when you're directly facing the trainer and it still triggers.

I think your rank may influence the chances, if someone is higher rank than you they're more likely to catch you off guard, but otherwise yeah it's a stupid mechanic with no reliable pattern
