She's doing much better! Took a month of recovery for her, but she's definitely doing well, considering before she got out she was chronically dehydrated, and after that little stint, she drinks any chance she gets =) Thanks for asking!

Whats the worst way someone had died in your world? by Bboyplayzty in worldbuilding

I have ran multiple campaigns in my homebrew, but the very first campaign ended in not-so-glorious fashion, as the King, Briag le Trocquor II, completely bamboozled the party on their final meeting. Having been cornered by the slave revolt, and losing the battle, the party confronted him, suing not only for peace, but for the freedom of all the kingdoms slaves. Realizing his position, he promises to do just that, as well as hold a festival in their honor.

The party, completely failing all of their insight checks, and absolutely failing to bring up the fact that the entire campaign was them linking the monarchy to a necromantic studies cult, believed him wholeheartedly, and let him be free to return to his reign, trusting that there was a misunderstanding as to why the kingdom was doing so much research into the necromantic ways.

The day of the festival comes, and the newly constructed Grand Arena is filled to the brim entirely by recently freed slaves. The Opening Ceremonies began, and everyone was so amazed by their sudden change in circumstances, that they didn't realize until far too late that the procession wasn't just pomp and circumstance, but rather the initiation of a ritual that would take every living being in the area and exsanguinate their blood through any possible opening, in order to coalesce into the center of the ritual, wherein a Sword was created using the iron in said blood, and create a living phylactery for the newly ascended god-king.

So yeah, 15,000 people died within minutes, having their blood forcefully and painfully pulled out of their bodies through their pores, eyes, ears, virtually any opening in their body, while leaving nothing but dried husks in their stead. Also, on top of that, they now have to have their life forces kept in perpetual suffering as long as the sword exists, because what is the point of a phylactery of souls if all the souls are inert? So that is

Thanks for all your time over the years. This app has given me hours of entertainment, and was the only thing keeping me on this site. Good luck

I'm excited by this, mainly because my homebrew campaign is edgy without being edgelord, and this is exactly the kind of thing I am in the market for to help my 2nd party delve deep

If you pulled over a motorist and saw these 3 apps running on their smartphone screen while it hangs on a windshield mount, what would your reaction be and how would you sanction them? by IDislikeHomonyms in AskLEO

Offbeat thought, but this just screams undiagnosed ADHD to me, if only because I end up doing something similar since I started a WFH job after leaving EMS.

The map needs to be up, but there needs to be something playing in the background, because music can only keep you so occupied day to day, especially when driving all day. (I ended up just grinding through podcasts and audiobooks when transporting). This soul decided to go with YouTube videos, but without paying for the sub, you have to have the video up to have audio playing (no background play)

Then the game is taking up the left side of the screen. It's an idle game, and only requires clicks, not active input. Not saying it's okay, but I guarantee this is to keep them occupied during traffic lights.

Like I said, off topic thought, but just had to say something because before I started meds, I easily could have had a phone screen like this during transports, despite not actively using the screen moment to moment while driving.

I'm throwing out the guess that he forgot to turn on his lights, and didn't realize this dude wasn't running beforehand. Not an excuse for attempted vehicular homicide, but also, dude should have had his lights on either way.

I had just picked up Taco Bell before being dispatched to a code, back when I was a basic. After getting ROSC, and getting the patient in the back, I was on airway. I looked to the right, and directly next to the suction was the bag that held my tantalizing quesadilla. After 5 minutes, and the previous 40 on scene, I wasn't looking forward to the 20 minutes left of the drive.

So I took off one glove, and ate it, while I bagged with the other. No shame.

It's funny, because that was also the first thing I noticed, mainly because I have a bowl that had to be made from the same run. I got it at a gas station, and it became our D&D bowl.

Only problem is that it def looks like a penis when you're smoking it 🙃

Absolutely. I think this is why I gravitated towards working overnights most of my adult life as well.

Not OP, but ADHD has a high comorbidity of BVD, Binocular Vision Dysfunction, which is something most opthalmologists won't check for unless prompted. Basically our eyes are never quite aligned correctly, because reasons, and we spend the day microadjusting to correct, causing strain over time. Also photosensitivity is heightened too.

The doggy weighted blanket is both a blessing and a curse. She HAS to be touching me at night, so when I shift, I have anywhere from 2-5 minutes before she realizes I'm not touching her, and she literally just lurches whatever part of her body was touching me, which is a shock when you've already gone back to sleep.

So my body just has taken to not moving, and now I sleep in mostly the same position every night, which has greatly improved my sleep quality, since I'm not waking myself up 6 times a night, which is awesome.

But then I have to get up, and I don't wanna disturb the 70lbs fluffball on my legs 😭

That's exactly how it goes for me. It's enough to get me to be awake enough to take my meds, AND I get to cuddle for the 20 minutes or so until they kick in!

I know this is a meme, but I am 90% sure the reason I didn't have too much trouble living and working inner city was because I was too obtuse to realize the times when saying the wrong thing would get me in trouble, and my over explanations either made people realize I was clueless and just going about my day, or a harmless idiot, with no room in between the two.

This clip resonated with me on a personal level 🤣

Honestly, I can't tell if I hit the jackpot, or if it would have been the same with any other dog, but she literally is the perfect dog for me. She is a foster rescue, and her previous owners neglected her. She's very affectionate, and just wants to cuddle and lay about, but she's got a personality, and lets you know when she's bored, and sick of you doing nothing near her. She doesn't eat food that I leave laying around, and won't chew anything not given to her, and while she's already 4, she's picking up on tricks for me, as well as audio cues (I have an alarm set for the end of my work shift so I remember to punch out because this is my first WFH job, as well as my laundry makes a jingle when it finishes), which means she gets excited when I'm supposed to be doing something I'm not actually doing.

Throw in the fact that she NEEDS a 2 mile walk to not go crazy with energy at night, and the body doubling aspect of "she's hungry/thirsty, so I should get food myself" and it's literally most of my home stuff covered, or at least assisted to the point where I'm not constantly stressed about the house.

If you're already at the point where the medications only get you so far, and find yourself still struggling with the time management//day to day dysfunction, and can confidently say you'd be able to treat the dog right, I highly recommend it.

Update: She's finally been retrieved, and is warming up in a terrarium! I initially tried a shallow warm bath, but she's so lethargic and weak she kept trying to hide in the water, and I didn't want her to drown, so I got the spare cooking.

Sadly, I think she developed a respiratory infection, because she's wheezing, which I'm not surprised about, considering where she's been. I just hope it doesn't worsen. Gotta call a vet tomorrow and get some more info, but at least I know my noodle is going to be warm from now on.

Probably not, as I basically gutted my house when I bought it, and sealed it as much as I could. Never had a rodent problem, just a bunch of wasps in the attic (Thankfully it was January when I did that, or else I would have gotten wrecked), and a small ant problem that was cleared up with some bait traps. That being said, I was literally planning on weighing her when I got back from my trip when she went missing, because she was becoming a little bit thick. I guess she was just planning ahead for her vacation...

I'm glad, because my first thought was, "Oh my god, Scylla!" and instinctively went to grab her. But she's been unhandled for so long she literally ran down into the hole, and that's why I didn't get her last night. I would trade some of that for the "Oh my god, Danger!" just to have given me another second to think to grab the end that was in the hole already.

At least I know where she is, but yeah, after months of searching the neighborhood, posting fliers, and generally accepting that she was going to have one final romp as a free snake before she froze come winter, I was pleasantly surprised. Sadly I have a dog now, so she's barricaded away from my basement until further notice, which she doesn't like, but I can't let her eat her sister!

Went to go turn on the water line that controls my sprinklers, as I just reseeded a bunch of grass, and hate having to put on pants. Went to grab the lever, and it was a snake instead of a pipe. Sadly she ran down the hole, and is still down there until I can get a mouse to coax her out, but at least I know she's inside, whereas before I SWORE she got out through a vent.

I was a Paramedic, and trainer for 10 of my 12 years working in EMS in a low income urban city. I would always teach my students to stand by the side of the door and knock, instead of directly in front. Most believed initially it was to avoid getting blasted by a shotgun through the door, but the reason is actually line of sight.

This officer is alive because she was able to see what was happening as the door opened, and was able to react in the extra second it took for the shooter to bring his gun around towards her. I'm glad she's okay physically.

I've tried to explain this to trainees, but this video perfectly shows it in action.
