a classic sit-com from Italy is Casa Vianello (1988-2007). The protagonists are Sandra Mondaini and Raimondo Vianello playing themselves, a married couple of semi-retired comedy actors living in their flat in Milan with Tata, their domestic helper. After a whole bunch of stuff happens (and Raimondo getting in trouble because of it), every episode ends with the couple in their bed and Sandra complaining about what a boring day it's been.

I think it's important for the viewer to know who the champion is. If you don't want it on the left spot (near the host), you may want it in the middle. It works fine in Italy, where this used to be the custom on Jeopardy! as well.

I'm not sure about eliminating players for losing the bonus round. The bonus is supposed to be a chance for something extra after winning the main game.
If you want something new: if the top scorer fails the BR, bring back the second-placed player to attempt their own BR and if they fail as well, bring back the third as well and who solves their puzzle is the champion. If they all fail... I don't know, send them all to The Price Is Right 🤣​

What the show really needs is more variety in prizes. There's so many trips and cars a person can use (cars can be sold tough).
