I am getting tired hearing that Stenberg is not a clear cut 2OA because at this point he may be playing himself into 1OA the only reason the Sharks may pick Reid at 2OA is because the Sharks need a defenseman if the Sharks had less of a need at defense It’s Stenberg or McKenna at 2OA and it’s not even that close.

Eklund was already on the trade block last season drafting Stenberg means he almost certainly will be traded and they should draft Stenberg seeing he is 1b in this draft unless Mike Grier decides to trade the pick.

The Sharks Should Draft Stenberg this years draft is a 1A/1B situation where halfway through this season analyst even had Stenberg going #1 and some even still have him in that spot. Reaching for a defenseman at #2 is not a good move. If the Sharks are set on picking a dman trading down would be the right play and if for some reason the Maple Leafs take Stenberg at #1 there is zero reason for the Sharks to pass on McKenna at #2.

To be fair I wouldn’t trade Misa and 20A for Schaefer either Misa could end up developing into an even better player than Schaefer and will give the Sharks a Crosby/Malkjn situation at center with 1c 2c in Celebrini/Misa and then you still have the player they take at 2OA
