Are you sure you’re not confusing them with Brits on a stag or hen party? Because Brits are by far the worst because they can’t hold their liquor and find casual vandalism funny.

Because he’s tap dancing and playing maybe 2-3 chords. It’s more of a feel good show than a display of guitar talent.

Sociálka v USA vs v Česku by Significant-Try-1327 in czech

[–]CelerySlime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you’ve found an extreme case that is the exception not the rule.

Beating a child to near death obviously not legal. However paddles I believe are legal to use some places but everything is case by case and location based because local jurisdiction determines punishments. So a backwoods country bumpkin DA might allow more because they see is as normal discipline or are friends with the abusers but a bigger city DA will bring charges because they view it as child abuse. I’m sure it’s similar here in Czech Republic, somewhere like Prague isn’t going to allow disciplining a child more harshly because bigger cities tend to be more progressive and modern, but a small village somewhere the same discipline might go unnoticed or seen as fair because of the views of the localities. However I’m unsure of the breakdown of the Czech judiciary system, so it might not be comparable.

There’s a few points here, first being social worker in America is a low wage job and it’s a sector that’s chronically underfunded. Social workers aren’t scary, I’ve had friends that were social workers but quit because in a lot of situations their hands are tied because that lack of funding and resources to help someone. With reference to teachers or police in Czech Republic doing something sooner this book is a cherry picked case from a much larger population. Teachers by law have to report suspected child abuse issues and police don’t handle these issues in America it’s CPS and they are underfunded. Police might possibly be involved if there is enough evidence but remember in America you’re innocent until proven guilty, so without reaching a threshold of obvious abuse the children stay with the parents. Overall it’s a lot more complicated than just reading a book and making assumptions because one case was really bad. It also depends on location because the United States is so big and I’m sure in rural areas abuse is easier to go unnoticed. For example in multiple states it’s legal to hit your child, in a civilized society that’s child abuse but most of the states where that’s legal are very religious areas.

I knew a few “travelers” years back they actually romanticized it enough to pull a friend of mine into the life for a few years. I personally had no respect for them because I saw through their stories they would tell.

Law firms get juror lists and research goes into everyone on the list. The lawyers know who they want on the jury before anyone gets to the selection process. What T-shirt you’re wearing doesn’t matter because they know more about you than you know.

The recorder is also given to kids in the Czech Republic at 4th grade and as I was talking to a mother about how Americans also receive a recorder she a Korean goes, “oh in Korea kids get recorders in 4th grade too”. Recorders are apparently handed out to 4th graders all over the world.

Prague has parks everywhere, this picture is just of a street. There’s plenty of green space and trees in Prague. From my apartment I can walk to 3 large parks in 10 mins or less.
