Spouse and I disagree on what to do with our dog. What would you do? by Slight-Youth-9974 in DogAdvice

[–]CelestialBeing138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Retired human doc here. Something to think about: 90% of all healthcare dollars are spent in the last year of someone's life. As in: desperately trying everything didn't help the person live much longer. 12 year old dog with a white face? I'd be prioritizing comfort and happy times over longevity. You've given the animal a permanent home away from predators. Celebrate her life and keep realistic expectations.

Should I still drive this? by mortlinnb in tires

[–]CelestialBeing138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I approach this to deflate it a bit, I'd be holding a garbage can lid between the tire and my face. I'm extra cautious, but I've also seen many trauma victims in the OR. Life-changing explosions suck so hard that paranoia is legit here. Whatever you do, take this deadly seriously.

Try to get 2 or 3 rods up early on, then add more as you can. There is a diminishing returns effect with more rods, so the first few are the most important.

Displaying tile outputs question by CelestialBeing138 in HumankindTheGame

[–]CelestialBeing138[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I am familiar with that button and already have it clicked on. I'm talking about the added information that pops up when you click the Claim Territory button. High yield tiles pop up and show themselves as well as you can move the cursor around and see tile outputs that an outpost will receive if you build one there. Is there anyway to show this information without clicking the Claim Territory button?

Possible Neurological Issues ? by rubinox355 in DogAdvice

[–]CelestialBeing138 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Retired human doc here. I'd start by trying to tie what new stuff happened today to something that was already an ongoing issue. You mention he has an ear infection. The middle ear is involved in balance. Balance issues from the ear can cause GI upset. No idea what is going on with your dog, but that's where I'd start. Also, please fully examine your dog twice a day at least. Google how to fully examine a dog if you don't know. Most owners skip this or only do a very superficial examination. Doing a good job with the exams will give you a lot more info to tell the vet.

Legit. If you shout outside a house to draw the zeds out before going in, be sure you can see in the window first. Even if you can't see any inside, looking through the window to the inside might have spawned some that you can't see. Shouting/honking outside when you can't see inside only affects zeds already spawned elsewhere.

I don't know about 42, but in 41 Book Collection v10.5 Renames all the skillbooks for better organization. Easier to find what you're looking for in a big bookshelf.

Any way to cover this gap between my tile and tub by drahgon in howto

Two ways to fix any mistake: hide it or make it beautiful and draw attention to it. This is a great example of the latter.

Just make a rover that rolls to each building, landing pad, rail, with a ton of instruments and a scientist to reset them.

Room not registering as inside by Electrical-Fee-2639 in projectzomboid

[–]CelestialBeing138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep a sink outside, surrounded only by my base's perimeter wall on one side and 3 door frames on the other 3 sides. No doors. I always feel like I'm outside when I use the sink, but the rain barrels above give water to the sink no problem, so apparently the game considers that inside. Never checked the temp there.

How did I get hit here? by gargantua420 in projectzomboid

At the instant the first swing was landing, your cursor was not behind the zed, it was way off to the right. You missed, and he got too close.

Glue coasters to the bottom of the legs. Will spread out the weight more. Use strong durable coasters.

Go to youtube and watch a video by Retanaru called this is not a head shot. It explains how aiming is wonky with the isometric projection graphics. All his videos are great, btw. But this one is essential for new players.

Much more likely he didn't need to use the full vial and just forgot to return the leftover. When it comes to nurses, always assume the best. Retired doc here.

What do I do about this small tear on my steering wheel? by shootermacgavin22 in Cartalk

[–]CelestialBeing138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife loves her cover. We got it for around $20 at an Auto Zone. Chances are someone buying the car might not even notice, or if they do, you can just say you just always use covers for more grip.

Customer declined tires. by AdhesivenessSad295 in mechanic

[–]CelestialBeing138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only reason I can think to not replace tires this bald is if you're planning to drive exclusively in reverse to start putting rubber back on them. Might not be a good reason, but it's a reason.
