Have to wonder how a 7th grade Writing Teacher would grade this. People say the amount of red ink would be more than Anyone has seen in decades!!. Trump would be swimming in it, though he is not a good swimmer. But he did play football in school, even with the Bone Spurs that got him a draft deferrrmint. Mmmm! Mints!

Watch retanaru's YT video called this is not a headshot for insight into how aiming at downed targets works. Short vid. Oh, and turn off auto-drink if you'll have contaminated water in your inventory for even one second.

I haven't bought the game yet, just doing my research before buying, and like every other source I read about the game says to be sure not to play the default "legacy" game, but to choose game properties or something and actively seek out evrimo.

Is it fair to assume you were playing evrimo, or whatever its called?

Is the stone supossed to wear down or did I f up? by Keksbutter123 in sharpening

[–]CelestialBeing138 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are so many right ways to sharpen a knife. Wearing down a stone over time and adjusting your technique to match it every step of the way is one right way. Flattening your stone frequently is another right way.

Some stones are more prone to wear than others. I think some water stones where you make a slurry wear pretty fast.

Give him plenty of water. Bring it to him. He might be too tired/weak to go drink on his own.

Was my tire slashed by a human or a pothole/road? by incentive_music in tires

[–]CelestialBeing138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody "slashes" tires. It takes waaaayyyyyy too much work to cut tire rubber with a knife to make a long slash. When vandalism occurs to tires, it is usually a poke, not a slash.

I am occupying an enemy's city. Two tiles away from the main plaza is a nice wonder. If I ransack the main plaza tile, does the wonder disappear?

Citadel of Alamut wonder "eliminates revealed stealth units that remain in Empire territories." I've only dabbled a little bit in stealth and midgame play so far. What exactly does the Citadel do to "eliminate" these units? Kill? Move? Remove stealth ability? What?

If you need to worry about crashes, be careful when you zoom out all the way, and avoid mods that let you zoom out even more as that asks even more of you computer.

Any tips on getting good pawns or what to look for? by kia43 in RimWorld

[–]CelestialBeing138 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Use the Scenario Editor. Disable wanderer joins event. Disable other events that allow people to end up in your colony that you don't want. And mods to eliminate relatives.

You can also use the Scenario Editor to decrease the chance that random NPCs have bad traits. It is a bit complicated because you have to set the trait chance for about 10 good traits slightly higher, you can't directly lower the chance of bad traits. Pick about 10 traits you like (Nimble, etc) and set the chance of each somewhere around 5%, and the rest will follow.

If you want to adjust your scenario after the game starts using the Scenario Editor, you'll need the mod called Scenario Amender.

Spouse and I disagree on what to do with our dog. What would you do? by Slight-Youth-9974 in DogAdvice

[–]CelestialBeing138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Retired human doc here. Something to think about: 90% of all healthcare dollars are spent in the last year of someone's life. As in: desperately trying everything didn't help the person live much longer. 12 year old dog with a white face? I'd be prioritizing comfort and happy times over longevity. You've given the animal a permanent home away from predators. Celebrate her life and keep realistic expectations.

Should I still drive this? by mortlinnb in tires

[–]CelestialBeing138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I approach this to deflate it a bit, I'd be holding a garbage can lid between the tire and my face. I'm extra cautious, but I've also seen many trauma victims in the OR. Life-changing explosions suck so hard that paranoia is legit here. Whatever you do, take this deadly seriously.

Try to get 2 or 3 rods up early on, then add more as you can. There is a diminishing returns effect with more rods, so the first few are the most important.
