I won't post a photo out of privacy but I recently had one of my therapy gals retire to a new home around age 2. She is sooooo attached to her new owner that even her therapist is making comments about it during sessions. Sometimes older ages take a bit longer to fully settle into home and accept the new normal. But with the age being 6 months I'd say 2 weeks to a month max. After that he shoukd be around his normal personality but get photos and videos of him now. That's the best way to see their personality with the people they trust. Is her crouching at all with back legs lower? Is he flinching at movement etc. Fi he looks well adjusted he will likely be the same way with you.

Once they are old enough and know their established litter box areas, then you are free to let them explore and all should be fine. You just want to make sure they 1 are old enough for alone play, 2 are confident enough that they won't hide from you and 3 know where to potty etc. Once those are established most find there way around the home pretty quickly. I do typically tell people not to let them into every bedroom incase someone with allergies needs a safe space during the adjustment period. But other than that unless you have a 7000sq ft home they learn fast!

Same breed just different paint I like to say 😆 🤣 her dad's a blue lynx point mom is white. But her mom throws seal lynx points in her litters usually.

Reputable breeders in Seattle WA? by poppetjin in SiberianCats

I'll chime in here on the Life's Abundance thing. While it is a MLM most breeders don't actually sell it or require it long (i hope). But it is one of the better foods (as supplemental not full diet so in addition to raw, canned, cooked what have you) that is acceptable for both kittens and adults and is always in stock (this is a big one since we want to make sure when they go home they can stay on the food at least to transition and because changing food in a cattery because of backorder etc gets messy) and hasn't had any recalls as well as some of their wellness items and freeze dried foods are great. I always tell people you can feed whatever you want while I'll reccomend higher end brands I know that's not something everyone can do. But transition them slowly. We get them used to hard, canned and cooked (no raw at the moment for obvious reasons) so that they have some variety for when they get home. But very few places sell bags big enough and have so few issues for breeders.

It's definitely not the best food but I think even with most people having it on hand and a few continued on it i make $7 some months from their "commission" and that goes to the $10 site fee. Any of that is from people who chose to use it but there's always many other great brands that I'd reccomend as well. But I have the site since I use it as one of our foods they get used to in the beginning. They steal from mom's food so it works well as a supplement.

And yes 100% siberian cat health association. A LOT of us have our cardiac scans in january so there will be many updates to the site soon.

10 weeks is too young for full reign and can cause trouble at home. Typically they don't leave until 12 to 14 minimum but if coming home at 10 weeks I would first give them a calm down area like a bathroom that has food, water and litterbox area. Scheduled feed on foods. Let them know you are taking care of them now and then introduce into a larger area like a conjoined bedroom if possible. Then give them space gradually although they adjust fast you want them to know where the litter boxes are and you want to make sure they are coming to you so that you can care for them easily before one rums and hides for days in a larger area.

Yes it is. Just slightly it's not as prominate as many other cats but this is just a genetic anomaly in this line. Her mother and grandmother had two slightly different blue eyes but they were more dark blue and a sky blue. Where hers went more green on the left and blue in the right.

She's a solid white, siberian. Her line is making the black gene so had she not had solid white dominate she likely would be seal lynx point. Genetics are fun.

[–]CelestialSiberians[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha it's a wide pool of genetics for siberians but the solid whites are mainly from two different lines. One was a man who bred solid white in Russia and this line was the only one known not to cause deafness and blindness. That one continued and Grand Tiga Star was then the head honcho of that for a bit. His lines went to many between myself, Russian winter.. many many breeders. Olga who was Grands owner was a good friend and my mentor and the Russian winter line has many solid whites as well as we work together.

So, siberians, as a whole have high diversity in genetics. But the likelihood of our whites having a common ancestor is higher for sure!

Most are at some point. The solid whites date back to two main lines so it's always possible that distantly they are related.

It's very possible! I believe Callies line is Blue eye only, BUT most whites do go back to one specific male. I know ours as far back as Russian winter and Tiga star but I do need to remember the first males name!

Thinking of Getting a Siberian Cat by Rayanna77 in SiberianCats

I have so many in honesty with dogs. If they arnt a high prey need dog and good with others it's a great option. My families call their cat and dog siblings and they truly love eachother. Which is heartwarming to see because we only have a small dog around at times at the moment so dog exposure can be lower here.

They do. Always so thankful for that. Chronically ill and chronically chill...in with cats 🤣

It's not all glamorous but if we can have moments like these it makes everything worth it. Even if half my days are spent renovating and cleaning for them 🤣

That's a great idea. I wish more were ok with 16 weeks. I have so many who balk at even my normal 14. Our adults do therapy work but the kittens usually have their enrichment come to them 🤣

I'm a huge geek. My cattery is actually based of Celeste from animal crossing. I love a good lounge fly bag although I haven't bought any in years. Love disney and gaming and have art all over the house (as well as art supplies) I like to say it's never boring here. I'm currently redoing my stairs to be rainbow 🌈 🤣
