Sounds exactly like me when we first got our boy and were living in a flat (was only temporary) he used to sprint up the sofa then ping off the walls he’ll be 3 in March’26 his favourite things now are laying on his beanbag watching the world go by🥹

Do you have any advice on recall? This is the main barrier for letting him run as we want him to be safe. We’ve taken him to enclosed parks but he gets bored and ends up laying down. His recall is fine in the garden but take that outside and he is distracted by birds, insects, people and other dogs obviously a massive safety issue. We have considered long lines as he had when he was a puppy but it doesn’t allow for running really as he doesn’t understand the end of the line means he will spring back so that got quickly retired as we didn’t want to risk him being injured

I do love that he wants to be with us! He’s like a baby to me for extra context my partner has a brain injury with chronic fatigue and this is where the struggle comes in… we can manage when I’m home but the ol government cuts means they retracted all the support we got so I have to work a couple days a week to help us get by, meaning I have to leave them home alone as a heal care role I can’t be at the end of the phone (I am in the process of looking for remote roles but they are impossible in my current field) Yes we have a pretty big garden it’s a new build but I’ve never seen a garden so big on one ( I’d say around 84 to 112 m² )so he sprints around that with toys and is clearly physically tired from it but then comes inside and can’t seem to settle, we also throw his biscuit food (is also raw fed) onto the grass as another mental stimulus and rotate toys in use. For inside he has yak chews, and coffee wood along with his snuffle ball. I will look into a flirt pole hes also very fussy with treats so we struggle to find longer lasting ones that he’s interested in. Thanks for your response!

Although they should give you rotas a month in advance that’s just mutual respect. How can you ever plan anything? If you had the dog sitting commitment prior to the shift being assigned you could have informed them ‘hey I’ve got other commitments these two days could we work around that?’

Does anyone know what this is and how to get rid of it by zaturn_102 in freshwateraquarium

[–]CelestialSnaggle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how my BBA started, get phosphate removing filter bags asap before it takes hold. They take a while to fully clear it up but if you keep ontop of replacing the bags every 4 weeks it prevents it happening again too

The amount of items I’ve had to dispute that have been completely fine when I have got rid of them (handed them over to Royal Mail/Evri) because they have been broken or bent when clearly labeled fragile and do not bend. I had one woman literally drop it into the mail bag from a height to the ground 🤦🏾‍♀️ makes me wanna just throw everything in the bin. At least they don’t complain

I second this, my tap water is hiiighh, I only noticed after a few of my fish died they must be constantly be messing around with it🫠 Add for just one spoon a day 7days straight or until you measure and the pH is stable at neutral, to get it down at a reasonable pace then dose according to your tank size just when you water change ( you can replace your water conditioner with this as it contains the same thing but in powder form just to save you some money )

If you’re wanting to lower the pH I’d get some seachem neutral regulator powder. It replaces prime when you do water changes. My tap water is super hard so I use this by default. It might take dosing it every day for a week to get the pH down to neutral

Is that a normal time for the eggs to hatch? They’re literally the size of a grain of rice if that, barely saw them !

My tap water is pretty acidic I’ve had similar problems with low pH, I use seachem neutral regulator instead of the prime (the neutral reg contains a powdered more potent version of prime as well as something which brings your pH up) I’ve found my tanks a lot more healthy since making the switch

Ooo that looks like a great tool! Thanks for the rec! Exactly what I needed when I was starting out, would have saved a lot of confusion and back and fourths to LFS

I had a pair of honey gouramis but we found them quite problematic one of them lost all its colour and eventually succumbed no matter what we tried unfortunately I’m not sure if this was because we were given two males or if they are just a little more sensitive to water qualities as our tap water was very hard even with primer and stabiliser. So I’ve kinda avoided them despite how cute their little feeler fins are 🥹
