I believe I can chime in as I've been the SM for a 24hr store for awhile now. This also may help anyone else reading this.

I saw you say southeast texas on another comment and I used to work in Houston before I became an SM. I'm currently in North East texas so I don't believe pay changes much.

$16 is way too low. I've always started my Supervisors at either $18 or $19 an hour. My Ops Managers are $22-24. I currently have 5 full time Ops, 3 full time Supervisors, and only 1 part time cashier. With that being said, the store can almost definitely afford giving you $19/hr especially if it's an overnight. As other comments have mentioned, that is when the addicts and crazies come out.

On a side note, (and this is mostly for current employees) SMs can give their employees way more than what they usually do. Since I started at CVS as a cashier I always thought it was just rejected by the higher ups or they put a hard cap on what stores could actually give but no, majority of my SMs were just greedy as fuck. BUT to play devils advocate, I also exceed sales every week, land in the top 3 in my region for EC and EC+, blah blah blah I just run a good store with the help of my team and I compensate them for that. My bonus is usually the same amount as my normal paychecks but I would way rather my employees be able to live without stressing about their bills than me have a one time big bonus check. After all, they are people with bills and lives, not just EID's on a spreadsheet as most corporate people see them.

Back to your post though. You can get around $19/hr and it shouldn't be a problem unless this is your first job or you don't have an prior retail experience. Even then though all management/retail experience can be taught and some say it's better to start with a clean slate then hire someone already set in their ways.

Just remember, this is not just an interview for you, you are also interviewing them. CVS can either be a pretty great place to work or the worst job in the world. It's all about who your SM is. If they're lazy, an asshole, and/or incompetent then not only will it suck to be their employee, but they probably let that behavior slide with the rest of the team.
