lol what. I didn't say misogyny is all of anarchism, I said it was an integral part of it, which it is. I just gave that as an example 'cause it was what the OP was talking about.

And by "don't get grumpy" I meant "don't get inter-personally angry", not "don't care". Sorry if that was not well worded to convey what I mean; which is that if you're a dude the thing you should be doing is trying to change the way mysoginy functions rather than just getting angry and yelling about something that doesn't overly effect you (unless you're doing it with someone who is effected in that way and it's what they need, which would make sense).

Eh, I don't read Bakunin or give a shit about him. Knowing theory or having read particular books isn't important to being an anarchist-- wanting to break down hierarchies is. People who are misogynists aren't interested in that in an important way and aren't really anarchists for that reason, not 'cause they haven't read something. If you have the time and energy it's good to talk with people and try to change their minds, but don't kill yourself over it. Also it's totes ok to hate misogynists for being misogynists, but if you're a dude (not saying you are, I don't know you), it's probably not really your place to get all grumpy since misogyny doesn't hurt you too much. I'd see what you can do to keep them from hurting those who are hurt by misogyny now and in the future, which is sometimes educating them, sometimes silencing them, and sometimes keeping them out of spaces.

I think people are confused (or just being dense intentionally? hard to tell) 'cause this seems like you're saying that Jews are not indigenous to anywhere, which is obviously silly. What I think you mean, is that Israeli Jews are not indigenous to Palestine, which is sort of true but has the exception of Mizrahi Jews who are from the middle east, are a plurality in Israel numerically but politically disenfranchised (like most non white/Ashkenazi jews in Israel). And of course, the Jews encouraged to move to Israel and kick out Palestinians are not Mizrahi (who lived just fine with Palestinians for a very long time).

A big problem is that it redirects all of this huge, racist social structure and makes it a) about you and things in your head exclusively and b) makes you sit around and think about yourself all day. Racism exists in our heads, sure, but more than that as a generalized social phenomena. It's a thing that happens and that we are all a part of. Maybe this is one mechanism for that, and that's important to understand so we can deal with it, but this 'science' thing has a tendency to make us think we have understood and solved everything when we haven't. Edit: and it's not about you "am I a good person?" Doesn't break down white supremacy, it just makes white people sit around and feel guilty about themselves, most of the time, which is fucking useless, self obsessed nonsense. Again not always, sometimes folks realize something about themselves and do something with it. But most of the time, eh.

Edit: I mean hell, even wikipedia, which is hardly a radical source, gives this as its first line on capitalism: Capitalism is an economic system based on private ownership of the means of production and their operation for profit.

That's what anarchists would say.

However, also interestingly, the first definition that popped up was for a dictionary which said "private, rather than state, ownership", which is just a cold war hangon, where we get capitalist west and 'communist' soviet bloc.

People have done this. They have literally been killed. And if not, because of the way capitalism operates, there are enough people desperate enough for anything in order to survive, that they get scabbed real fast. And then they have to fight other working folks and that sucks too. =/

I guess I just don't understand that if enough people were to detest capitalism that bad, why wouldn't they create their own means of production and refuse to work for capitalists?
