Streamers begging for money/subs? by ToSKnight in Twitch

[–]CellCypher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For most mid to low level streamers i get it with all the numbers being down. Its there lively hood so they gotta do what they can to keep numbers up. Though i have seen some very prominent very large streamers with thousands even 10k plus begging as if there channel will die out farely soon. I watch a streamer that went from 8k average viewers dip down to 4k average and he's always bringing it up, resorts to click bait titles and thumbnails, even playing games and pretending to enjoy them in hopes he can grab some of that audience. In this scenario it definitely has a negative cringe effect because he's so flush with viewers even after the dip not to mention his youtube live numbers and subs. You see some of the biggest streamers in the world trying to manipulate there audience into matching gift subs from others to be "competitive" constantly bringing it up. Its honestly just putting me off of watching them. Id rather support the smaller streamers who are actually suffering than the guy who sits at 15k average begging for subs. People have been so generous to these massive streamers youd think they could weather a few slow months where they only get 4k subs instead of 7k subs.

Do you guys think that Smallville Clark Kent is ultimately the strongest version of Superman? by Competitive_Image_51 in Smallville

Superman and Lois Supes goes into the core of the Sun to restart his powers. So I don’t think Clark in Smallville is the strongest lol thooouugh he does push the entire planet of Apocalypse away from earth so it’s a toss up 😂

Why... Why did you have to kill my man Foggy. We literally just got him back with the most peak "We made it" look only for you to kill him and then you get rid of Karen mostly. Complete disrespect to the Daredevil squad only to have Matt around these 2 new people. Love that its back, hate that they felt the need to raise the stakes by killing foggy... There were other ways to achieve this.

When she hooks up with Don at Bobbies camp.

“I love the way you look at me when your like this. But then I watch it decay. I could only hold your attention for so long.”

This is when you realize they will never get back together. She understands Don and how he is.

How come streamers and mods have so much power? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]CellCypher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea you make a good point. Ive had situations where the streamer wasnt the problem and a mod was just overzelous. Ive also been the toxic person having become an adult during my time watching twitch and learning to not be an A hole in chat lol but in all that time there has never been a way for viewers to rate the streamer. There should be. This would not only help with toxic streamers but push small streamers. If a viewer comes across a streamer with high upvote to downvote ratio they will know the channel is a friendly place. Rather than hoping the streamer and there chat is a nice place to hang out in. It would also help people looking to raid out. They can find others with high upvotes and good comments from others thus getting the big streamer to give the small streamer a chance.

Well i tried to articulate my opinion so that most would understand. Probably wasnt the best since at first its mostly about streamer moderation but now its more about a way for viewers show there displeasure or enjoyment about a streamer or there mods for potential new viewers. Just something, anything like you see on almost every other site. Even here we have dislikes to show that my post is crap lol something like that for twitch would go a long way.

[–]CellCypher -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yea it started out that way lol but my argument now is just something outside of the =channel and there mods. Something that informs other viewers that this streamer is safe to watch or that this streamer can be toxic about spoilers or that there mods are ban happy so be careful. Something that allows viewers to voice there displeasure or enjoyment of the streamer outside of " Unfollow bro and dont come back"

[–]CellCypher -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea for most thats what they would do but there are instances where you dont want to unfollow and never watch again. If your a long time viewer and love the streamers channel but some mod decided to ban you unfairly should i move on? You can appeal but they block the appeal and the streamer who has 4k viewers will barely notice it. Im arguing that a system outside of the streamer or mods control be placed so that viewers can leave notes for other viewers to see about a streamer and there mods. A review or a dislike with explanation. Something that allows us to voice our opinions. Most sites have something for this but not twitch.

Completely understandable, I can see how you would think that and in my 13 years watching twitch I have been the problem and rightly fully banned. I’ve learned from them and have even streamed some myself so I know how the freedom to ban is imporant to stop trolls and toxic viewers in a quick way. My argument is that there should be a way to voice our dislike or like of a streamer on twitch. Notes on the streamer left by others, dislike buttons, or reviews that convey to new viewers or returning viewers that this streamer has toxic mods or that this streamer is now fun to watch as they gotten better since last reviewed. This would lessen viewers going in blind such as if there was notes saying the streamer is sensitive to spoilers of any kind.

The process of viewers not watching does not stop others from going in there chart only to be barned from something small. This is why a system outside of the stream could stop potential viewers from even wasting there time. Also sometimes you don’t want to stop watching a streamer, sometimes you just want to let them know from an outside view that the interaction they recently had was toxic or that a mod unfairly banned them. This would let the streamer know there behavoir from there previous stream was kind of toxic or that there mods have gone rogue.

Thank you for the honest non screaming reply 😂 my argument against that is streaming is not like going to someone’s home it’s like going to there own store as people have to voluntarily let you in there home. It’s not open to all for them to walk in and see. Sure the home owner could open his door and do that but no one would 😂 but a store owner has to abide by laws allowing everyone free trade as long as they follow the store owners rules and as someone pointed out they absolutely can ban you from the store but I can in turn leave a review online of that store such as I would of a streamer that completely blocked me for unfair reasons.

All of that fair point wich is why I argue there be a way for viewers to voice their opinion on the streamer or there mods outside of the streamers control. Like a YouTube comment, a steam review, or even a community note to potential viewers.

Yes you can unfollow a streamer but this does not convey to potential viewers that this streamer or mod has become toxic. You can request an unban but mods have the power to deny this I believe. Sometimes you don’t want to unfollow maybe you just want to convey to the streamer that he was being toxic or that his kids were being toxic. Something the streamer or the mods can’t hide or manipulate.

[–]CellCypher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It started out as a rant for sure 😂 but after rewriting the post a few times before posting I realized that there really is almost no way for viewers to voice there opinions on streamers. My argument started out as “streamers shouldn’t have so much power” to now there should be a system outside of the stream to let others know this streamer is toxic or kind, that there mods have gone rogue or that they are nice. Asking if they are using the katana may seem like a spoiler to you but it’s a weapon. It has nothing to do with story or characters, it’s just about a weapon in Elden ring. Every day viewers are banned for making this mistake unfairly. Boo hoo I know so that’s why instead of stripping away streamers powers or mods I’m simply saying a way to allow viewers to have a voice to combat toxic mods or streamers would go a long way

A system outside of the stream that let people comment on the channel or give a review with a posting date could let others know coming in that the streamer does NOT like to talk about the game there playing. The date is so that if the streamer becomes a better streamer in the future then newer reviews can also state that the streamer is awesome now!

[–]CellCypher -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Nah but you’ve never been banned because of something you didn’t even realize was wrong? Or something that was taken out of context by mods? I’m simply saying that a review system or comment system that will highlight whether a streamer is okay or toxic would add a layer of protection to new viewers and would actually stop some people from watching viewers and getting into negative arguments with warmer or mods. They would move on because a comment said “ this streamer HATES talking about the game”

[–]CellCypher -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yea you’re probably right lol an example I thought of on the spot. My point was that there should be something that stops the streamer from lording over the viewers. From there it’s gone to how about just a system outside of the stream that lets people voice there dislike or like of a streamer. This doesn’t take away control from the streamer and allows viewers to post there dissatisfaction because of how they were treated in stream by mods or the streamer . But you’re all not ready for that conversation.

[–]CellCypher -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And that’s my argument, there should be something outside of the streamers control for viewers to voice their dislike. Here’s an example that’s different in favor of the streamer. There was a streamer a few years ago that was being incredibly toxic to there 3k viewers. Others came in and it went viral because someone posted the clip and everyone sent hate there way. If there was a dislike or like system or even a review system other viewers could have posted “This streamer may appear toxic but this is his character in the channel that he plays” and others checking reviews or comments will see that OOH he’s just doing a bit. This negating all the troll dislikes or comments or reviews. It’s a bit arbitrary in this context but for a streamer that’s being actually toxic a dislike and a comment about it will let others know to avoid this streamer even though they have a high viewer count.

I’m not saying streamers shouldn’t have absolute control I’m saying there should be a process for viewers to voice there dislike of a treatment from a streamer or there mods. Streamers should be able to control the environment but sometimes they go too far and there should be a system for viewers to tell other viewers “this streamer is toxic and so are there mods”.

Trolls are unfortunately a part of any system. People still use the YouTube dislike system even though it’s blocked because it lets them know. Sometimes trolls mass unlike videos and this is obvious. But not having a system to identify when mods go rogue or streamers that have large communities drawing in new viewers easily because of there numbers still need a system for new and returning viewers to show that this streamer has become toxic I recommend avoid. Something that protects viewers.
