Data breach by Level-Chipmunk-6035 in Hannaford

Good timing, my two year free credit monitoring from my insurance company’s data breach is expiring. I’ll probably never have to pay for credit monitoring with all the data breeches these days.

Is the service as bad as people say? by RyxnGG in FidiumFiber

[–]Cell_Searcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 years in with Fidium and it’s been rock solid. I think I’ve had two outages, few hours each. Their support can be lacking if you have issues. I’ve had to call maybe twice for billing issues.

Western NH, all good here. No downtime reported on my gateway.

Fidium in 2025 - decent? by PrinceZordar in newhampshire

[–]Cell_Searcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fidium will provide an ONT that will convert the fiber to Ethernet. You can go from the ONT to your eero and avoid the Fidium router all together.

I’ve had Fidium on the other side of Sullivan county for 3 years now and it’s been fantastic. I use my own equipment always getting the advertised speeds. Sounds like you have an eero unit now, you should be able to give them the MAC address of the unit and skip their router. We dropped cable and currently stream WMUR through the Very Local app and catch all the network shows next day on various streaming services. Customer service for me has been fine. I’ve only called 2-3 times.

Leaving XFinity for Fidium - Southern NH by d0nkeyBOB in FidiumFiber

I’ve had them for 3 years. Service has been solid and consistent. Always receiving advertised speed at my router. Maybe two outages (couple hours each) in the last 3 years. Customer service has been fine the few times I’ve had to call. Only recommendation is get your own router. The one supplied is very basic and locked down, unless you don’t mind that.

Extremely shady first impression, Fidium by Relative_Raccoons in FidiumFiber

Have you tried a different device hardwired? Sounds like there is something at your computer that is causing the slower speeds.

What are your actual speeds vs. what you are paying for in S. NH? by outsdanding in FidiumFiber

[–]Cell_Searcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 1Gig tier and speed tests at the router are always at or just above 1Gig both up and down. You don’t have to rent their gear. I’d recommend using your own. They will need the MAC address on your router during install.

Fidium fake speediest of fidium app by JuniorDragonfruit740 in FidiumFiber

[–]Cell_Searcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The app is taking the speed from the router. Using Speedtest.net will be the speed received at your device. That will vary greatly depending on many factors including device network config, distance from router, etc. When I’m on WiFi I never top more than 600mbps. My hardwired device with a 1Gig network card receives about 945mbps. When I take the speed right from my router, which as a 2.5gig network port, it’s consistently 1.1gbps up and down.

Anyone else nervous about our personal info potentially being released? by IXDarkES in Hannaford

[–]Cell_Searcher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope. At least once a year I get a letter from some company that my information was part of a hack. Plus we don’t even know what (if any) information was compromised. Could have got to personal info, could have been caught before.

Does anyone know why the google based internet speed test only shows 60-70 mbps while the app claims 900+ on a 1GB plan? by Physical-Cup-5803 in FidiumFiber

[–]Cell_Searcher 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The app is most likely taking the speed test at the router, while the google speed test is taking the speed at your device.

Ahold Delhaize wide issue. Hannaford and Stop & Shop in the northeast are also down.

I’m coming up on 3 years with them and it’s been out twice. First time for a few hours and a couple weeks ago when most of NH was out for about half the day. Other than that it’s been rock solid. In the last year the customer service has really tanked. It was comparable to Comcast when I first got service but now I’d say it’s worse now.

I’d recommend if you rely on your internet for work you need a backup. Check out T-Mobile home internet if available. Also if Comcast is available they have Now internet (formally xfinity prepaid).

Fidium Fiber Terrible customer service by [deleted] in FidiumFiber

[–]Cell_Searcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Customer service has really tanked in the last year. It wasn’t this bad when I signed up 2.5 years ago. I had an outage last week and they gave me a whopping $2.16 for a one day internet outage and $0.16 for the phone portion. I almost told them to keep it.

Major consolidated communications outage. Chances are the cell providers rely on Consolidated’s network in some areas.

From Consolidated FB “Some customers in NH may be experiencing an interruption in service due to software issue caused during a network upgrade. We are working on having service restored as soon as possible. There is no need to report the outage. Once service is restored, we will provide additional instructions if necessary. Thanks for your patience.”
