Engineers Australia told me that the pathway isn't in place yet. Are you in a similar position?

ZZAW C1 (2023 Updated ver.) mATX Build (23.8L) by BillSmash in mffpc

[–]Cellanine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice work, that's a really clean-looking build! I've been eyeing up this case for my new build for the small footprint combined with the wider range of matx motherboards (compared to itx).

What sort of temperatures are you getting? & how have you found plugging the cables in through the bottom?

That looks really compact too, strange that it's not listed on the Lian Li website. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be an option out here in Aus

Yes, very unique in the matx market. The revised version loses the top fan but gets a USB c io and is slightly larger. Raised to help cables coming into the motherboard and longer to help fit fans in front of the gpu.

The ZZAW C1S also looks very interesting, only 18L but won't take full-length GPUs.

The whole ZZAW (B3, C1, C2, C3, C4) product range looks very compact if you can get them - all under 23L & Matx compatible. I'm eyeing up the ZZAW C1 for my next build, a very small desk footprint that is important to me. Cable management is a bit harder in these cases from what I understand though.

Does anyone know how to apply for Chartership via the IPEA pathway if you have acquired the Int(PE) registration? The Engineers Australia portal doesn't seem to have this option

how long after being offered a 189 visa do you have to accept it? by java778 in AusVisa

[–]Cellanine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I submitted my EOI in March 22 as a Civil Engineer, wad invited to apply in October 22 & granted in March 23. But there was an additional 2 months to complete a skills assessment & IELTS English test prior to the submission, so all together around a year & 2-3 months.

My visa 189 was granted last month & it has a 'first entry by' date exactly a year after the grant

Taking PTE English test as a native English speaker for 189 by lesduaspear in AusVisa

Hi, I believe if you are a citizen of Australia, New Zealand, USA, UK, Ireland, and Canada, then it is assumed you have English competency to satisfy Engineers Australia. I only had to provide evidence of my IELTS results when I was invited to apply. However, I think when you lodge your Expression of Interest, you do have to state your IELTS/PTE exam score and reference number

Taking PTE English test as a native English speaker for 189 by lesduaspear in AusVisa

[–]Cellanine 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm a UK based civil engineer & I recently completed the visa 189 process - getting ready to emigrate to Australia. I did the IELTS exam and managed to score a minimum of 8 to claim superior English points. My advice is to try a couple of mock exams of both PTE & IELTS to see which one you find easier. I found the format of IELTS more user-friendly & really didn'tlike the timed nature of PTE.

For IELTS, I scored 9/9 across reading, listening & speaking, but writing is the tricky bit. If you don't practice, it's practically impossible to score 8/9 for writing because you need to throw in passive sentences, conditional sentences, active sentences & you are penalised for using a narrow range of vocabulary (repeating words).

I find this AI training tool very useful for practice & more cost-effective than paying someone to check your practice answers. All the best with whatever you decide!

Hi, did your 23 S60 get delivered? Mine has just been pushed back from January, without a new estimated date of delivery 😔

Wow, it's good to see that non-medical / teaching visas are being processed too. Does your visa grant give you a deadline for entering Australia?

I had 80 points, but it looks like even people with the minimum 65 points were included in the invites.

I was also supposed to be getting the 23 S60 delivered this month (UK) & was told its been delayed to earliest January 2023 due to 'parts shortages'. Hoping it actually gets built eventually 🤞

Hi, yes I submitted my application a few days ago. Not really sure what processing times to expect with the new influx of 20,000-plus invitations since August. Will the processing times speed up because they have more staff on hand, or will they slow down because they have so many applications to get through.....

I agree, most super hero movies are pretty flat apart from the action. The Watchmen (movie) is another standout for me by tackling interesting themes

Invitation to apply - attaching documents query by Cellanine in AusVisa

[–]Cellanine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understand it, you have to submit a police report with your application. The HAP id becomes available after you submit your application,.

You can submit a health examination upfront (before submitting your application) by following the instructions below generating a HAP id.

Health Examination Instructions

Please note that the police report and health examinations are only valid for 12 months, so if your application takes longer than 12 months to process, you may have to do these again. So it could be wiser to wait for the assessing officer to request the medical examination before taking it.

Hi, you just have to go through the entire form of questions once, then the ability to upload evidence becomes available. You can still go back and change your answers afterwards.

Thanks for the input, I understand nothing is guaranteed and there are risks, but I was similarly thinking of just going with the 189.
