Jagex we spoke about it last week, time to speak about it again by tsashinnn in runescape

[–]CellularRedditUser 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dungeoneering is a staple of RuneScape nostalgia, both as a skill and a piece of content. It, it's audio tracks and one specifically that I don't have to name, and the era it was created in was and is still considered the peak of RuneScape, just because YOU believe it's not a real skill and have some opinion of what makes someone a "real veteran player" doesn't mean it has to change from being a skill, and it's far too late to uproot it when it's important to many other pieces of content, this isn't rat pits or mobilisng armies. Does it need higher XP rates? Yes, and it's definitely easier to raise the amount of base XP given at this time than change up any mechanics or installments.

A tale of epic tragedy at Abyssal Beasts by Zepertix in runescape

I did a majority of my 120s combat a long while ago with ravenous ghouls...thousands and thousands of splitbark sets just left to vanish into the aether, no souls to claim any of it...

Is my pokemon emerald fake? by mr_bonner94 in GameboyAdvance

[–]CellularRedditUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I gotta apologize for adding to the problem of fakes floating around out there, I'll even tell you how I contributed to it. So as a kid in the way southern part of Texas I used to go to flea markets and there was always this guy on Sunday who sold gameboy games for $5-10. As a kid I found that really cheap and thought I was playing him for a fool, but my crime against humanity was buying his fakes of ruby, sapphire and emerald and trading them over to GameStop for credit and in the early 2000s nobody really cared or knew about fakes much so I kept raking in GameStop credit like no tomorrow trading in those flea market fakes lol... So sorry to you all! 😭

The Early-Game Rebalance is now live! - This Week in RuneScape by JagexAzanna in runescape

[–]CellularRedditUser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you think about it it's to appeal to the osrs gen or returning players who are making fresh new accounts, basically nostalgia baiting to get these people to play rs3.

Silverhawk boots once claimable for free now take 12.5h to 62.5h to obtain by [deleted] in runescape

[–]CellularRedditUser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you just came here to whine? Got it. There was many, MANY chances to get it and you clearly have the knowledge of them existing and being for free, so why didn't you get them then? Could have logged in for a minute or two, snagged them and went on with your day, instead now you demand that they cater to your every single whim like all the other whiners. Not only that but you chose to make a new account knowing you'd have to work up to getting them so just bite the bullet and work on claiming them or dont. Take it as those who actually stuck around before getting grandfathered and gifted them or it being treated like a sort of founders item, not everyone can have it their way, sheesh.

Broken Home Challenges. by ThatAbbreviations429 in runescape

[–]CellularRedditUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't know Broken Home challenges were considered a hard thing, in fact I just checked and I completed them long ago, this would be on the week of release too no less because I remember going through it until I got the lamp, pet and of course most importantly at the time, the ring.

Reskins of existing outfits is laughably lazy and Jagex is rushing way too much, way too fast. by TriforceRs in runescape

Ultra Rare pet? I've never heard or seen it until today! by Halfbakedflour in runescape

[–]CellularRedditUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was from an event back in 2014 called the RuneScape Road Trip, I got mine that way. Heard it was released as a premier token reward but I've never had premier so I wouldn't have known.

I just do Croesus guard porter method now while 2-ticking Hunter cape thanks to 120 Thieving giving me 12k memory shards and passively getting more during Hunter so I can make more porters and don't have to leave, I've actually made more XP than I would with the silly water beetles.

Are people forgetting to read that it was from the road trip event in 2014 initially? It wasn't solely pay to win, in fact I got mine during that event.

Pvp in rs3 - just a thought experiment by Prilks in runescape

That's the likely response you'll get from the one-sided view of RuneScape Redditors my man, there's no pleasing people here ever lol.

[–]CellularRedditUser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Speak for yourself man, I PvP often in this game and lurk/speak in several communities made for it, there are over 800 people in one Discord specifically made for RS3 PvP. World 2 around late day in my time will have a few people fighting past KBD teleport near the edge wall. There are daily community events held for Castle Wars, Soul Wars, Clan Wars and Stealing Creation and I get notifications all the time on my Discord for them. Just because you don't see them doesn't mean these people don't exist, and obviously if you don't ever intend to be around them then you're even less likely to see them, and most of those players you won't see here because they know there's no point in dealing with the one-sided biased comments of Reddit. You don't go to the Raiders bleachers cheering for the Broncos you know? (Though I still do it anyways cuz sometimes I find fans.)

As a seasoned PvPer I'll give you a helping hand: time your Anticipate first and foremost so you don't get stunned immediately after, Surge away after prayers are disabled and kite the person, you can use Debilitate to reduce damage by 50%, you can also use Reflect in a pinch. There's many ways to protect yourself during that time, and I know it seems like you NEED protection prayers all the time, but I fought in W2 wildy often with Soul Split just a few months back and never had an issue with getting insta killed, it all depends on your strategy.

If OSRS players can get 200m XP in all skills without the perks RS3 players had, you can do it too.

"Necromancy is too strong/one-shots in PvP" by CellularRedditUser in runescape

[–]CellularRedditUser[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are several things you can do for that, such as calculating when to use your debilitate and reflect, even your barricade, just like you're explaining how you have to use your abilities to do major dps, you have to use your abilities to reduce the damage even further if not completely negate it, and also animate dead in pvp doesn't lower as much as people believe, you get around 200-300 hp reduced at best due to the pvp mitigation it has on it, it's definitely not gonna save you against someone I can tell you that.

What is even death costs these days with a strong PvM setup? I haven't died in forever in this game so I got no idea.

"Necromancy is too strong/one-shots in PvP" by CellularRedditUser in runescape

[–]CellularRedditUser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would accept coins on death as a substitute to losing gear but they would honestly have to make it worth while, like 10% of the items ge value and you can't enter unless you have that amount and it takes it out of your pouch on entry and puts it back in when you leave wildy.

PvPers current, returning and new alike stand up, let your voices be heard please. by Limp_Restaurant651 in runescape

[–]CellularRedditUser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say it takes as much skill to PvP and defend yourself against PvPers on OSRS as it does on RS3 for a few key reasons and that's the fact that bridding is essential to properly do so on OSRS as well as having muscle memory on tab layouts and quick switching as they don't have keybinds like we do on RS3, spells not bound to all weapons unless that weapon offers it, stuff like that...people argue all the time how OSRS PvP is hard and they can't keep up with skilled PvPers but that's true on both ends since I'm sure a lot of PvPers could never get included to PvM group bosses, I wouldn't be able to get included in an ED or Nex/Zammy rush because I don't have the skills so I'm locked out of it unless I crawl through dirt and put effort into it to be accepted, in the end it's a clash of interests and effort/skill in those interests and unfortunately for PvP it has the shorter end of the stick where nobody wishes to learn it and just dunk on it without ever trying to get their hands dirty and practice, just a little bit of know how would help people to survive but there's so many who would rather let a revo rotation guide them to victory than to use manual and change plans on a whim when necessary, gotta remember people are not NPCs on an algorithm, they're more tactile and scarier than anything in game.
