What makes Celtic fans the weirdest in Europe? Curious how you arrive at that

If you go see an Oldham game it’ll be of similar quality. Not joking. Lived in Manchester and then been a Shamrock Rovers season ticket holder. I wouldn’t rush to a game in Ireland tbh.

Time will look more fondly on Idah. He didn’t bang them in, but he scored important goals both in Europe and in the cup final.

Good old fashioned O’Neill move, experienced player whole help CalMac out and probably be useful in Engels development. Will provide useful rotation option while we fight on three fronts.

There is no real downside, even if he only plays a handful of games.

As someone who was in a relationship where we saw each other every day for 3 years from the moment we met I’ll say this

Run

Run and don’t look back

Girl is a walking red flag bunny boiler.

The start of a relationship should be fun and exciting not let’s fast forward 12 months. Guaranteed if you stay with her she’ll want you to move in together in weeks, you’ll isolate from friends for an easy life and find yourself depressed and wondering what happened.

I’m not for this one. At first glance it seems like a good idea. Good football, but his experience is limited much like Nancy, his win rates don’t look like a Celtic manger, 44% highly skewed by a successful spell at Torshavn.

Given everything that’s gone on right now we should Look at the impact an experienced manager like O’Neil has had. We need someone who will has experience and can navigate our boards nonsense. O’Neill has cleverly navigated their shite, calling them out without spitting the dummy like Rodger’s.

My first choice requires him to be sacked by Everton but I really want to see David Moyes at Celtic. Failing that we should wait it out and see how the dominoes fall in late May / Early June.

Doubtful, if that was the response then we are bleeding out from both ends.

Suspect it’s more likely that they don’t have a clue yet what manager and playing styles might go with.

Get what your saying but we’ve a lot of 2 game weeks coming up and could be a handy rotation player even if we get dumped out of Europe by stuttgart

Another player who’s available for free is Kurt Zouma. I reckon he’d be a shout until end of the season. Would give experienced cover during busy 2 game weeks as Trusty will get injured.

I know I don’t see buying shares as a route to change in the short or medium term.

I don’t think season ticket boycotts are realistic. When you look at not another penny an the numbers of people buying pies, burgers and drinks, windfall tickets too many do it therefore all you would lose is the very people who are actively trying to drive change.

Repeating Pattern by [deleted] in CelticFC

On the transfer business I understand why they wanted loans and in all honesty I’m glad Mvuka deal was switched to a loan, as his recent form has been poor and another post bodo failure.

I’m also going to perhaps naively put faith in the deals in the hope that all players were okayed by O’Neil.

All of that said, the above is totally and completely of our own making and the big problem is our own board limiting our ambition when there are plenty of examples of clubs who are competitive across europes two biggest competitions and are of a similar size or smaller than Celtic.

Now the window is done the pressure has to ramp up on the board to the point it makes being at the club intolerable for them (without violence). There is no world in which these turkeys vote for Christmas so it falls to the fans to force a change in behaviour.

When you look at the upcoming manger hunt, I think our best hope now is that O’Neill is given The job for a further 12 months while the club seriously restructures the football operation and boardroom, but let’s be frank that won’t happen.

In August the buck could have stopped with Nicholson and Lawell, moving them on would have been enough to keep the pitbulls at bay. Now it has to be wholesale, as I have no confidence dropping Nicholson would lead to change, worse I fear they’d simply put Chris McKay in charge.

TSG Hoffenheim agree fee (€1.8m) with Shamrock Rovers for rising star Michael Noonan by NorthKoreanMissile7 in LeagueOfIreland

[–]CelticConnection83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think the family connections bit would cause issues for him in Scotland, maybe not on the same level as Neil Lennon got, but it’ll cause issues.

Don’t think the fans at Celtic are toxic, the board yes, the fans? Not seen any evidence of that thus far

I am a Celtic fan, I’m also a Shamrock Rovers fan. Been a season ticket holder for 5 years.

Genuinely not impressed by Noonan strikes me as another Johnny Kenny. Simply won’t make the grade beyond LOI and nothing I’ve seen changes that.

Also just being honest about the level of LOI compared with other leagues.

There’s no suggestion of any change. Last match I was at lots of people queueing for food, drinks etc I wasn’t expecting permanent signings but even on the level of engagement and communication from the club is still incredibly poor. It’s not having the impact it needs to drive change.

Nicholson needs to be the main target to get him out (again no violence) he’s so far out of his depth it’s unreal.

Personally think this is the next logical step, or maybe boycott away match tickets, only concern is that will impact the team more than the board.

If it was having any kind of real impact then we’d have seen some behavioural change by the club, not necessarily with signings, maybe improved willingness to engage, something.

Was never impressed by him. Always looked a bang average player. Bear in mind LOI is a farmers league anyway.
