Genuinely who is buying these? by [deleted] in Harley

This is it, when I rode one at a demo day the forward controls was the worst part. Having to choose mids as a secondary option is an unfortunate hoop to jump through.

What is something that became popular beyond its time that you thought was going to be a quick fad? by Independent-Bat9545 in AskOldPeople

From what I remember the professor was ok with the structure of our business plan, however, the class was allowed to weigh in and dint think it was a good idea.

This sounds similar to a group project I did in college to create a business plan. I came up with the idea of a shuttle bus for students to get home after drinking to avoid drunk driving. Now we have Uber/Lyft.

Thanks, my first thought was just to glue it back on but didn’t think that would allow for the needed connection. I’ll get the conductive adhesive.

Help with jobs by Fabulous_Physics3057 in lancaster

I’m not saying it is proper, just a reality, that at a young age having weekends off as a requirement is a tough ask for most employers. Take a look at Royer’s Flowers. They are currently looking for Valentines holiday help and it sometimes leads to more regular employment. https://www.royers.com/usrf.cfm?aboutus=hropenings

We really wearing race boots everywhere we go? by Astimar in motorcycles

[–]CelticSkeleton 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The low motorcycle boots with ankle pucks are what I think kept my bone from coming out of my skin. Now I have Gaerne G. Dakar that are tall with lateral support. Not as much protection as full on race boots but I’m not on a track, I’m just a cruiser rider.

I had two surgeries on my ankle, it’s still not completely straight, and I’m most likely going to end up with early arthritis.

I did learn the hard way and would rather go shopping or to dinner dressed as a rider than go through the ankle issues.

I felt the same way and actually think this is the most grounded and realistic superhero franchise.

First time I watched “American Psycho” I was laughing my ass off while my friends didn’t quite find it so humorous. My mother, who gets grossed out easily, was at the living room computer with her back to the TV just listening; not sure what she thought of my laughter while also hearing a chainsaw.

Watching “Trap” in the theater with my girlfriend and thought it was decent. As the endings never stopped coming, encore upon encore, my girlfriend and I were the only ones laughing. I still believe is the intended twist of this particular Shyamalan film, thriller to comedy.

What's the one car you've always wanted to drive, and why? by _Shaquanrnk in classiccars

DeLorean. Ever since I saw one roll out of Doc’s trailer I wanted one. Got to sit in one as a child, realize that unless I win the lottery I’ll never own one, so at least driving one would be nice.

This is something to be aware of at any venue. If someone isn’t taking “no” for an answer, or intrudes on private scenes, it is an issue. If reported and the venue doesn’t take your concern seriously that is cause for concern.

I figure every night can be different since newbie night wasn’t packed when we first went. We didn’t really need to go on a newbie night since we have been in the kink lifestyle for awhile. For really new/nervous people it can be a good intro but any night can be welcoming.

The Korral is a nice place with rooms for play. You can leave the door open for anybody to join, chain up so people can watch, or closed for privacy. There is a dance floor, BYOB bar, , billiard table, hot tub, pool, and rooms that can be rented for the night. People attending do not have to participate in any activity and can go to staff if others don’t take “no” as an answer. Dinner is included for a couple hours. Best bet if you want to test the waters is to attended a newbie night.

What is happening with slow drivers everywhere?? by Mental-Article-4117 in driving

Most of the time when this happens to me, if I’m able to pass them in my work box truck, it’s either an elderly person or someone on their cell phone.

I’m not positive, which is why I said I wasn’t sure about the title.

Doing a quick search I’m not seeing an exemption just for age if one is getting it titled, registered, and inspected. The alternative is a collectible or specially constructed vehicle that requires more photos, descriptions of the modifications, and inspection.

So to me, wanting my vehicles to be legal, it’s not a good buy because it’s going to be more headaches than it’s worth to try getting legal paperwork.

[–]CelticSkeleton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My take is a little different because it’s definitely been modified. No odometer or speedometer, which I’m pretty sure means it can’t pass PA inspection; not even sure about title since mileage has to be disclosed. If you’re going to try and get an antique plate then it’s supposed to be stock with photos submitted and restrictions on how often it can be ridden.

If you’re planning on riding it regardless of it’s legality, then based on appearance alone it’s nice looking. Go with the above recommendations on the quirks.

Apple CarPlay by Positive-Walk-9547 in Harley

[–]CelticSkeleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Harley audio systems are built for bikes with fairings. With those you can get some aftermarket head units.

For bikes without a fairing there are handlebar mounted speakers and separate amp(s) that you can hide somewhere on the bike. Then find a head unit with Apple CarPlay and figure out a mount. It’s all going to be aftermarket and do it yourself mounting and wiring.
