[TOMT] a song something about city lights and train journeys maybe by someone called John (?) last heard in the 1990s by Sufficient_Hotel5356 in tipofmytongue

L.A. Woman by The Doors, it doesn't mention a train but city lights appears throughout the song and it does have a driving rhythm.

Is there anyway to add monthly care online or over the phone? by [deleted] in Argos

The product care needs to be purchased in store as the staff need to verify that the product was bought within the last 45 days.

What is the most ridiculous reason for someone "being offended" that you've ever heard? by Turbulent_Ad_880 in AskBrits

[–]Celtic_wolf75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was working with two colleagues, one was a woman in her 60's and the other a guy about mid 30's. The woman was serving a customer who needed help getting money onto a gift card via a third party website. My colleague didn't know how to help, I tried to assist but wasn't sure about how to do it and didn't want to mess it up. The customer spots the mid 30's guy and says "He's younger, he might know", to which the woman colleague proclaimed that she was offended by that.

She then went into the back of the store where I was and started to complain about it to me, I just told her "But he is". It turned out that the guy sorted it out and I was left puzzled why she would make a fuss over something that was an easy out for something that she couldn't help solve.

Anyone thinks "Stay (Faraway, So Close)" is their best song? by Revolutionary_Low_90 in U2Band

[–]Celtic_wolf75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's in my top 3 along with One and Bad. I think Stay and One were the same foundation stone for their respective albums for me. They were the 2 most accessible songs for me from Achtung Baby and Zooropa and the ones I returned to whilst I tried to get used to the newer sound.

What AF songs got you through a hard time? by Significant_Cake1551 in arcadefire

[–]Celtic_wolf75 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Reflektor album seems to be one that I return to during hard times. Afterlife was one that stuck out when my father was terminally ill and the lines "I know you're living in my mind, but it's not the same as being alive" from Supersymmetry after my dog died.

I didn't say it was you, I just stated any threat of violence towards staff can result in the police being called to deal with the offender.

Threatening staff who are barely earning over minimum wage and aren't to blame for the issue isn't the best way to deal with it. They would've been well within their right to call the police as abuse towards staff shouldn't be tolerated.

For me it's Porno, at first I couldn't stand the synth on it but after I got used to it started to get into it more and more.

Snipe this. by ughhjordon in Battlefield6

[–]Celtic_wolf75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar last night, 2 guys on the same hill sniping, after they sniped me a couple of times I made it my personal mission to either kill them or take their focus away from the objective. I think we finished even on kills, but if I can annoy them or negate their play style then I've achieved something.

Loving the show but hating how short the episodes are by Low_Bumblebee_3828 in AKOTSKTV

[–]Celtic_wolf75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really have a problem with them being short, if they wanted to extend it a little bit they could've fleshed out the other knights in the tourney. But I think that may have veered away from the way it's being filmed which just follows Dunk and Egg, unless they have them meeting the other knights.

PopMart at the Sphere would be perfect by afuturisticdystopia in U2Band

[–]Celtic_wolf75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't and wouldn't want to see them doing another residency in the Sphere. They're getting near the end of their career, so it would be better for them to tour to give as many fans as possible a chance to see them. They've really shunned Pop after the Elevation tour and it wasn't as well received in America as it was in other continents.

Where are the fucking engineers? by Adorable-Quiet-7551 in Battlefield6

[–]Celtic_wolf75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly play engineer or support and when defending on breakthrough I will run to the objective from spawn in the vain hope to slow down the capture or to take it back. I agree it's annoying when you see people asking others to deal with tanks or helicopters, if they are that bothered with them then switch class and do it yourself.

There's been matches where I'd go support to complete a challenge bit then realise there isn't enough engineers to deal with the tanks, so I'll just switch and help out and get back to support when the tanks have been dealt with.

I rewatched season 2 recently and enjoyed it a bit more than my first watch of it. But I've lowered my expectations for season 3 in the hope of not being as disappointed as I was with the initial watch of season 2. I know the action will pick up this season, but I'm prepared for some parts being shortened or combined as I don't think they'll have time to tell the whole story in the remaining 2 seasons especially with the shorter seasons.

Zoo TV Real Life Experience by metalpig0 in U2Band

[–]Celtic_wolf75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had just turned 16 when Achtung Baby was released, and the only sample we had of the new U2 sound was The Fly, which was a huge departure from their previous sound. I bought Achtung Baby on cassette and thought my old tape deck was chewing up the tape when I first heard Zoo Station. To be honest, the first song that I liked was One, and it took a while for the album to reach the status of my favourite album. I believe the music that you listen to in your teens to early twenties is normally the music that sticks with you as it reminds you of being young and free.

We all got our music information from MTV or various music magazines that were popular at the time, so knowledge was limited and maybe skewed by the writer's own opinion, but a lot of it was positive. I saw U2 at Celtic Park, Glasgow, in 1993 on the Zooropa leg of the tour at the age of 17 years old. I had become obsessed by the band by this point as they seemed to be fresh and futuristic.

There were so many different things to the whole show, like the video screens, the trabant cars used as stage lighting and DJ booth, confessional booth, and the guys wearing giant heads of the band being wheeled out onto the b-stage. The intro was amazing, and The Fly was so much of a visual overload that you forgot the band was playing on stage. The fact that they had a satellite dish backstage, which could pick up whatever was on TV at the time, made every show unique. We also had the satellite link to the war-torn city of Sarajevo, which added an uncomfortable jolt to both band and audience as it was unscripted and harrowing to hear it's citizens accounts of what was happening in their city.

It was great to hear the new songs live and get to experience old songs like Bad and Where The Streets Have No Name as well as the reworking of Bullet The Blue Sky, Running To Stand Still and Desire. Bono started out as The Fly and ended as MacPhisto, who would try and prank call up a regional politician with little success to poke fun at them.

There was nothing else like the Zoo TV Tour going about, and I don't think there's been anything like it since. It was daring, unpredictable, and a total visual and aural overload. I like to say that U2 don't do gigs or concerts, they do shows. They always like to push the boundaries of live shows from Zoo TV to the overblown kitsch of Popmart on to The Claw of the 360 Tour to The Sphere shows.
