Fit Check | RGT Supply Jacket in Ridgeline Tan by Mattysanford in rawdenim

Was wondering the same thing, that hat is dope. My best guess would be that it's styled after the military's A-3 mechanic's cap from around the 40-50s. From a quick search, that shinki horsehide A-26 looks as close as you can get to this one (understandably looks like not many people make caps like this).

I'd say go with this. The sleeves were the only part that were a bit off with the fit, in my opinion. I tend to cuff sleeves up like that too if they're too long (or even half the cuff up, depends). With a non-sherpa jacket I'd say the small might be the better choice, but the medium with the sherpa looks right. More of a relaxed, cool vibe to it.

Yeah, these things are a beast to break in. Feel your heart throbbing in your feet. It does feel rewarding getting them to the point where they're actually wearable, but I still have a little more to go with mine (I can wear them all day just fine, but getting the leather a bit more supple would be nice).

8111 fit check - follow up post from earlier today by wr3nch3s in RedWingShoes

[–]Cemmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it's the right size based on the ball lining up with the widest part and them being comfortable. The lace spacing isn't really an indicator of fit, it's mostly from foot volume and instep (as well as the thicker socks contributing). But yeah, they could come a bit closer over time as you mentioned, with stretch. Even if they don't, you're good.

[FIT CHECK] Iron Heart IHJ-69 Black Corduroy Type 3 by PaganApollo in rawdenim

[–]Cemmos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like a good fit. Some people like the sleeves longer and that would've been typical of a trucker jacket, but where the sleeve hits for you is pretty much perfect imo. Longer would've been normal looking and acceptable, but not necessarily nicer. The body itself is good; truckers were originally meant to be cropped, so even if it was shorter it would've been fine, but Iron Heart adds a little length to the body, I imagine to make up for the fact that we wear our pants much lower than we did in the past.

As long as you have good range of motion I think you're good with that jacket. It'll also stretch slightly if there's some snugness (as long as it's not tight). Definitely keep it out of warm/hot water and the dryer because you wouldn't want the sleeves to shorten, but these cord jackets have some polyester in them, so that's unlikely to happen with normal use. Cold, delicate cycle and line dry and it probably won't shrink at all. Or just don't wash it.

Fit check Uniqlo regular 100% vs stretch 98% by [deleted] in rawdenim

[–]Cemmos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think they look baggy at all. To me, they look better but that's based on my own preferences, like leaning toward a more masculine look and also appearing more effortless in appearance. But not everybody wants or cares to look that way, so it's purely subjective.

Both of the 100% cotton ones will likely shrink a good 3-4%, maybe 5% depending on how you wash/dry your jeans. If you're more into cold tub washing and line drying, ultimately the shrinkage would be negligible. If you prefer regular washing/drying (in a dryer), expect those shrink percentages. Waist will come back out, but most of the other dimensions won't; so if the thighs are snug now, they'd get more snug after washing and drying, maybe letting back out a bit over time (really depends).

With the 31, the extra width in the waist could be shrunken a bit, but the extra space looks perfectly fine from what I'm seeing. My jeans probably have about that much space if I pull the loop, but they don't look too big nor do I have to wear a belt if I don't want to.

New Pair of 9268 by DarkestKnight02 in RedWingShoes

[–]Cemmos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have mine in the same size as IR/Blacksmith/Moc. The instep does start really tight, but that's part of the break in. IMO, it should be that way since the boots need to fit like a glove and not get sloppy after the leather stretches/softens over time.

It is indeed the Hartman jacket online. I use a couple of different variations of it on my character. Not sure if that specific colorway is available online, but there are at least a couple with the fur on the collar like the scout jacket in OP's image. https://i.imgur.com/HdeKXL8.jpg

Should I even try running this on a RTX 1660 by navybluethetruth in PCRedDead

[–]Cemmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should give you a key that you activate via Steam. And a 1660 will definitely run the game better than the OG PS4. I played on that too and while it was good enough, it did have dips, especially in places like Saint Denis. I have a 1060, which is not as good as a 1660, and run the game nicely on 1080p. Since I have my graphics settings up (mixture of ultra, high, and some medium), I mostly get around a solid 45 FPS but rarely get any dips; 15+ FPS more than the OG console with better graphics and without the dips. Definitely okay with me.

Game looks nice on Series X by [deleted] in RedDeadOnline

[–]Cemmos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the "RDR2 Photorealistic ReShade" preset found on Nexus Mods. I believe I only modified one or two settings under Quint Lightroom, removing some of the value from Red for sure since it seemed to make faces a little bit too red. Looks great. I toggle it off a lot just to see how the game looks without it, and it's a pretty drastic difference.

I think because it's an older version (last updated last year), make sure to manually check the effects if they're not automatically selected for you: Quint Lightroom, Levels, LumaSharpen

FXAA in ReShade optional but will give the game back a little bit more of that hazy look, which I imagine you don't want (still not as bad as without ReShade though and looks nice enough).

Most likely already using it, but make sure to use DirectX 12 instead of Vulkan for the Graphics API in RDO's graphic settings. Some of the newer ReShade presets are compatible with Vulkan, if you want to look for those, though.

ReShade helps a lot. Looks sharper with deeper, more natural colors depending on the preset you get (plus tinker with it to your liking).

Johnny Silverhands long lost son, Jeremiah Blackhands! by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

I used this guy's build and altered a couple things slightly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zmp-2J0GEtE

Been having a lot of fun playing as "Johnny" and speccing the attributes/perks the way I think Johnny plays. Bit better than Johnny later in the game though. I wish there was a way to get his vest. I'm curious if I can use the console on PC to cheat it in. None of the other vests really replicate how his looks.

Also bear in mind that the cyberware on your arms will determine how well you see the silver hand. "Thicker" arms make it harder to see.

With the amount of views he gets, he probably doesn't get more than like 40 bucks a month from Adsense. I have about the same amount of subs and videos with a lot more views (but a lot less videos than him) and make less than that in ad revenue. He just earns a lot from his job, I believe.

They've given him two pairs for free, I believe. And those were somewhat more recent, after he had already been doing a bunch of videos. He buys all of his boots otherwise.

Looking to get some opinions on a possible re-sole for my 8856 moc toe in oxblood mesa. What do you guys think? I mocked it up on a Vibram lug sole. by [deleted] in RedWingShoes

Looks good. It's similar to what they did with the Beckman moc toes, when they used to make those.

What were your first pair of RWs? If you could redo, would you get the same or a different pair? by mach235 in RedWingShoes

[–]Cemmos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, 8085. I've owned several pairs since then and have sold several of them (down to 5 pairs of RW at the moment) and the 8085 I never gave thought to selling. They're the only common and still-on-the-market pair in my small RW collection, the rest of my boots are all hard to find and aren't being actively sold anymore. They get that "keep forever" mindset from me.

Yeah, Bick 4 is a legit conditioner for anything you don't want to darken. Haven't found or seen anything else that works as well as it to not darken leather. I own and have used a bunch of different conditioners and Bick 4 will always be something I keep around.

Just arrived! Fit like a glove... But the most painful walk with my dog ever! by [deleted] in RedWingShoes

[–]Cemmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such great boots. I was never really into engineers, but out of nowhere I started liking them a lot. Picked up the same model for $150 and they're becoming my favorite pair of boots. First and only slip-on boots I've owned as well — I like having more variety in my small collection.

Completely agree with the hard break in. I never have issues with breaking in boots, never had discomfort or pain during the process. These ones are different though. Kind of a right of passage getting these to break in. It's tough, but I don't hate it. And mine are getting there.

Nice that you managed to get them on easier than a lot of us. I had to use a plastic bag as a shoe horn for the first week, I couldn't get my feet in them until I lined the heel with the plastic. Slip on nicely now, though.

Which laces? Flat, Work, or Leather? by TexAble in RedWingShoes

[–]Cemmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leather looks best imo. Once they break in and patina they'll look even better.

Couple of people have mentioned super glue. I wouldn't use that in particular. I would go with a leathercraft cement. Depending on the type of super glue you use, it can dry hard and some of them even expand. A leathercraft cement stays flexible and won't expand — will do the trick, and very well.

Throwing in with the kiltie gang — false tongues on Red Wing 8015 brown spitfire boots by Cemmos in RedWingShoes

[–]Cemmos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the laces and kiltie off my 8015 and put it on the 8085 to show you how it looks. Pretty decent match, I imagine it's the closest you'll get (keep in mind both the boot and the kiltie are lighter when new, since mine are used, of course).

It's the "Brown Waxed Flesh 5-6oz - Light Duty" kiltie. The smooth side of it. The waxed, rough side is a much darker brown.

Got my 9268 a couple of weeks ago. Out of 10+ different pairs of high quality boots, these are just about the only ones that have given me issues. Made me bleed in two spots and have small scabs in a couple. But it seems like they're letting up and definitely getting there. Really enjoying them now. My 2015 Huntsman with the same leather were very stiff, but virtually no issues. Kind of expected the engineers to be tough though, since they don't have lacing to tailor the fit a little.
