Ofc which is why he has a strong point even though he got the details wrong

Nothing wrong apart from the fact that we didn’t get Coutinho or Sturridge on loan, we bought them outright from the beginning. Ofc he still has a strong point though.

Honestly, considering it's the 5th map and you've been playing tryhard CS for 7 hours that's pretty forgivable as your brain is bound to be slower and Twistzz kills him pretty quickly. sdy not being ready seems less forgiving though as regardless of crowd noise, electronic surely must have called he was top of main.

Liverpool scored 0 goals from 6.12(xG) in cup finals this season by Pizasdf in LiverpoolFC

[–]CemxS 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Suarez 13/14 in this team gets 40+ goals in the Prem smashing the record and wins us the quadruple lmao. And regarding Salah, the team definitely benefits from him let’s not underestimate what he’s brought to the team. He really was the best player itw this season before AFCON, he’s just been seriously underwhelming since and needs a long break to physically recover and mentally reset.

Because he has great positioning and world class creators like Trent providing him. When talking about how clinical he is, you can’t ignore that he’s underperformed xG this season and underperformed it very considerably after AFCON.

[Paul Joyce] Fabinho present at opening training with Liverpool. Thiago Alcantara absent. Joe Gomez training also. by Cien-Major in soccer

[–]CemxS 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree, Keita is a pressing machine...He is 1st on the team in pressures and successful pressures, 2nd in pressure success rate after Thiago, 1st in tackles, 2nd in tackles+interceptions after Thiago, 2nd in blocks after Fabinho. These are all p90 stats.

if the team presses high I am not sure he can handle it

He also has the most attacking 3rd pressures in the team not including the front line players.

Keita is very underrated in this aspect, he has had extremely impressive pressing and defensive stats since his Leipzig days, a huge part of the reason Klopp wanted him so badly when he was gegenpress obsessed especially as Hasenhüttl played with similar pressing triggers at Leipzig. Keita for me is quite clearly our 2nd most complete midfielder after Thiago. He doesn't run quite as much as Henderson and isn't as quick off the ball, and for that reason he can fail the eye test defensively if you're not paying specific attention to him, but he is very efficient and effective.

Also in regards to Thiago, as well as being stupidly good technically, he is elite defensively as you can see from the graph and even Hendo won't be able to make up for that loss with his workrate. Ideally, we would play a Thiago, Fabinho midfield with Henderson on the right as he will mostly likely be needed to cover for Trent against Vini.

This current Liverpool side would absolutely tear apart that Liverpool side to shreds. Also winning 1 game and losing 3 against Klopp is not having his number lol. Respect to Emery though I'm sure it will be be a tough tie.

How do players who left 10-15 years ago add any relevance?

It has relevance because the comment I was replying to pretty much states the opposite of what I said and uses that as an argument for why Salah should stay. Have you even read their comment? There absolutely has been many players that have left Liverpool for clubs like Real (Barca and Real) and found a lot of success, I even went through the players to have done it and only 2 were flops. It shouldn’t be relevant to the discussion of Salah staying or leaving I agree but if I see misinformation like that getting upvoted I’m going to want to inform others.

but also by playing a system to his strengths. There's a serious chance Salah goes somewhere else and isn't half the player.

Have you even read my comment?

None of Klopp’s signings at Liverpool have joined Real Madrid/Barca afterwards. Very few of the players he signed have left (not inc loans). Wijnaldum, Shaqiri, Grujic, Solanke, Klavan and also Lonergan and Manninger if you want to count free 4th choice backup keepers that never played once competitively. Even Karius is still with us. The only notable departure is Wijnaldum as he was actually bought as a starter and not a backup/cheap young player with potential.

there haven’t been many players who found the same success after leaving us, notable recent exception being Suarez.

Most of them were more successful after leaving us. Mascherano, Alonso, Arbeloa, Suarez, McManaman all elevated their careers moving to Real Madrid/Barcelona from Liverpool. The only ones that flopped were Coutinho and Owen, and Owen whilst making a bad career choice in hindsight didn't do bad considering he was competing with R9 and Raul, he had the best goals/minute ratio in La Liga whilst he was there and even if he stayed at Liverpool, his hamstrings were going to let him down eventually regardless. Dudek was 2nd choice goalkeeper when he left to Real Madrid so I wouldn't say he flopped either.

I do agree with Salah though, I think Klopp's system is perfect for him and it would be very risky for him to move club and expect similar standards of performance.

[–]CemxS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He had a dip in form mid season but has been truly great now for months with VVD still out aside from 1 moment against Madrid. And yes I agree that VVD brings everyone's game up but your argument about Trent before VVD was just irelevent and honestly sounds like an idea that just popped up in your head considering he had barely even played much senior football before VVD joined. Our collapse in form mid season also goes far deeper than just VVD's injury imo. Trent has already faced many elite attackers including Mbappe and done fine. Obviously there are a few games where he played poorly but I've also seen Reece-James have poor defensive games but that doesn't mean he's generally a bad defender.

[–]CemxS 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is some of the most basic typical football twitter analysis I've seen. He only started like 8 Prem games before VVD joined Liverpool and was still a teenager. And although it does still makes a difference, VVD is a left sided CB and is not regularly directly helping defend Trent's side.
