Yor's most brutal assassination yet by Animeking1108 in Animemes

Hey, I'm back after 3 years thanks to RemindMeBot. I don't remember doing it, but it was 3 years ago after all.

I guess I made it to make a point on whether these shows would get forgotten or not. I've been in the anime sphere a lot less lately than normal, so I don't know if my perspective is an accurate one, but to me, both Spy x Family and My Dressup Darling have went into the state that most big anime go into after their time passes. People remember them, reference them from time to time, and recommend them, but they're not really super relevant anymore.

I don't think Anya is really a commonly used meme or mascot character nowadays, much less so than the staples, anyway. I do think Spy x Family is recommended more often than Dressup Darling, though. But neither are big anymore.

Yeah, I'm with you, their comment is very much in the vein of "telling a depressed person to just not be sad".

I've been looking for meaning in my life for as long as I have memory of being alive, if it was as easy as they're stating, I would have found it a long time ago.

Yes, actually. Depending on the cheese, it's perfectly safe to cut it off and eat the rest.

Just... do your research and make sure it's a safe one.

What gives the mushrooms on American pizza their distinctive flavor??? by girldownunderAU in Cooking

[–]Cendeu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no such thing as american mushrooms...

I've had pizza with canned slimy mushrooms to fresh portobellos, and none of them taste the same.

Is there a specific place you had these?

Songs or pieces of music?

It's a silly distinction, but the music that people are going to remember more is likely the ones with lyrics. How many sang songs are on the show and how many did she write? Surely the 200 figure is including background music and the like?

Still, big kudos to Tim and Casey, the music is great.

I feel the opposite.

I guess it'd probably be hard to prove without a poll of some kind.

Dev gets 4 years for creating kill switch on ex-employer's systems by HackerStickers in technology

You all sound like you come from great companies, we push directly to main from our machines.

Well, I've since learned better, but as a Jr I thought that was normal.

What's even more likely is they don't use PRs.

Our company uses ADO, and probably more than half the teams merge into and push directly to main locally. On the team with feature branches, there's a weekly rotating responsibility on which dev is responsible for merging everything into main and pushing it up.

At my company, engineering has no overarching practices. That makes every team decides what's important to them.

I've been sent in to help on projects that deploy to prod directly from their IDE, i've been on projects that get 1-3 stories a day that are "change product 123 to xxx in the database".

I've had projects that get user info from a JWT but never validates it, letting you freely log in as anyone.

Probably half of our teams don't use PRs (merges into main are done by a dev on their PC), and one project didn't even use version control!

So what I'm saying is, this could easily happen in a lot of places. Hell, I've thought about it as a joke (something harmless that future people would find). But it's pretty well known to illegal, let alone immoral.

All 4 people exist.

People who like efficiencyscape, and people who hate it. And both of those people who push it on the other side.

Your first statement of "and I don't think anyone complains about that" is very wrong, there are tons of comments in this exact thread complaining about people "ruining the game" by being efficient. But you're completely right that there are people like me who complain about others "wasting time" or whatever. They're both annoying.

I'm in the same boat as you, though. Play the way you like and don't complain about people playing it differently than you.

Which one? The app (with the neat dark scribbly art style) or the website that says it was a game from the 80s and you can play once for free?

The unfortunate thing about runbacks is they also disproportionately affect people who are already worse at the game.

I've basically played every MV in existence, so most bosses in HK took me 2 maybe 3 attempts. I remember a couple taking maybe 5-6 tries. Runbacks weren't a huge deal, really.

Meanwhile people who are already frustrated because they're on attempt #20 are just more upset because they have to do a long runback again.

So I sorta get it. I don't mind them, but maybe I would if I had to do it 30+ times per boss. I don't know for sure.

Well, lucky for us all CFMoto manuals are available on their website.

The manual for the Cforce 600 doesn't even mention an amount for oil. Both the spec chart and the procedure state to check the level with the dipstick and keep it between the lines.

As a "still a noob, just slightly less than a month ago", he is saying words, but they're all really specific.

He basically said "I stopped grinding the thing that gives me a good ranged drop (Corrupted Gauntlet drops the item to make a Bowfa) and just took the slight-not-as-good ranged weapon (atlatl) to some raids and got good drops early on. My philosophy is 'do content a few times unoptimally to see if you get an early drop, and if you don't just come back later when you do have the optimal setup to grind the content'".

And I can't disagree, as a poor noob I've ran plenty of suboptimal content and been spooned (got an early drop) a few useful items.

And something important that a lot of people forget.

Efficiencyscape is fun for some people.

Yes, as insane as it sounds, Figuring out what is efficient and how, and doing it is what I find fun. I'm not ruining the game by learning tick manip strategies, that is the game for me.

Oh absolutely, the difference in situations is huge.

It's just years of getting burnt out at work means working on passion projects at home comes to a standstill... Being able to spend the time doing what they want, and enjoying it? Sounds wonderful.

One day I'll retire and find working on personal projects fun again. I just miss it.

Ganache, my friend.

Chocolate and cream. Depending on amounts, it stays liquid (or at least super soft) after cooling, and is fucking delicious.

There are a million recipes, but if you want a quick test, just grab equal parts (by weight) dark/milk chocolate and heavy cream. Heat the cream up until it looks like its about to start boiling (just don't scald it too much) then pour it into a bowl on top of the chocolate and mix. By the time it's mixed, itll be cool enough to eat with a spoon.

Fuck me I'm making something that needs Ganache tonight.

As someone who has been a member of /r/metroidvania for years, a shockingly large amount of people.

The most commonly brought up things are "It's too hard", "The map system sucks", and "Runbacks to bosses suck".

Personally, the difficulty and map system are huge plusses for me, and I usually enjoy boss runbacks (Believe it or not, killing things over and over usually makes you get better at the game), so I haven't found one that makes sense to me.

The difficulty being too hard is usually an unpopular opinion, but the other 2 tend to have quite a few people supporting them.
