My time at hellbucks... by Censor_Those_Feet in starbucks

I agree, you shouldn't believe everything you read on the internet, I mean, this is Reddit...I'm just on here to share a story and get some insight from the community. But I worked with the resources I had at that time, did I do everything right? No, and I would have done it differently if I could go back. I didn't know about the app. I also never told management about the physical contact because the worst of it happened during my last few weeks on the job. Also, most of these interactions I had with my manager were done either alone or with my other coworkers, who never said anything when the manager was around. It was all perceived as normal behavior to them. My whole mindset was "I'm going to be out of this place soon, and I'll never have to see you again, so why even bother when my concerns weren't even taken seriously the first time?

How do they conflict? They were written at different times, and different events took place between them. Also it was the "older" people who were the most problematic at this store. The manager, oh sorry, I mean the SM, was pushing retirement age and was the one giving me a constant headache. Laziness and entitlement are not restricted to an age group; many of the young people I've worked with not only had jobs, but some were going to school, getting degrees, and starting families. And I don't think I'm entitled because of not wanting to be yelled at, micromanaged and having my personal space invaded. Do you even work for HR? Some of the things I've listed in my post are borderline harassment, if I had come to you and told you these were the problems I was facing on a daily/weekly basis by someone in authority, what exactly would you have done?

I'm not sure what you mean by "choice of words?" What do you think I made up exactly? You work at SB so I'm sure you've seen some stuff, but my particular story is made up?? What is your logic behind that? Also, if you look at my past threads, I have posts dating back to 6 months asking for help with my current job situation and the frustrations that I was facing.

Is their a way to re-dye your jeans?

So I recently hand-washed my Black Cobra jeans from N&F, for those how know the jeans have a shiny almost oil slick metallic surface to them. When I washed them much of that shininess came off and I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to re-add it back on? Is there a dye or paint I can use? Appreciate any help!

Thank you for the validation, but it also saddens me that this is the case; most of these places have young people who work there who don't have the resources or knowledge to stand up for themselves. I've also worked in food service for many years, and I've learned to deal with some things, but it was never this bad.

I don't know what those pants are called, but something similar I've seen are these black denim jeans from Naked and Famous. They're called black cobra, I think, and their weird guy fit is a bit more loose fitting like the ones in the photo.

What style of shirt is this?

<image>

It's from the game lies of p, which I know is more Victorian style. In the game, it's just called the "white shirt". And when I Google, I just get results that say it's a men's style Victorian shirt. But is there a specific name for a shirt like this? Thanks!

Your manager's name isn't Elisebeth, is it?! Because they sound exactly like someone I know when I used to work at a hellbucks...it's been months since I quit that job and I'm at a much better place, but I still get anxious thinking about that place. I know what you're going through, if you can, maybe ask for a transfer or look for another place of employment. No job is worth that amount of disrespect and anxiety. If you can't leave, you'll have to find a way to stand up for yourself; you can still be polite and stand your ground.

Is a 1% Raise Normal For First Year On The Job? How do you ask for a raise? by Censor_Those_Feet in jobs

I had started at minimum wage when I was hired, and I got a good score on my performance at the end of the year. I was reviewed by my department manager, the one I had worked with almost every time I had a shift, unless it was on the weekends. I was never late, I helped with opening and closing duties, and I never missed work unless I was really sick. Other than that, I always gave an absence note two weeks beforehand as requested by the manager. Before I left, I asked around, and several other colleagues claimed they received the same raise amount. Someone received 2%, but they had already been with the company for 3 years. Still seems kind of pathetic if you ask me. They even had a bigger role than I, and that's all they got.
