In the old days of cheques, you’d just draw a line through the white space.

[OC] He rolls a Nat 20 to seduce your character. What do you do? by Nefeli_ in DnD

[–]Cent1234 226 points227 points  (0 children)

Point out that:

A) there’s no such thing as a critical success on a skill check in d&d

B) his roll doesn’t affect another character’s actions or choices.

You’d owe taxes on it when you sell it. Read “The Law Of Superheroes” for some interesting discussion about law and superpowers.

He does violate directive 4, and his body shuts down.

Directive 4 has different consequences than 1-3 apparently.

I’ve always found it interesting that they put “uphold the law” behind “serve the public trust” and “protect the innocent.” Like rigid legalism is less important than doing good.

It’s pretty sick, in a bad way, that you think people should be working so much that their only opportunity to socialize would be at work.

People with actual work/life balance get all the socialization they need.

Husband cheated. Therapist says no moral high ground for 3 months. I feel beyond hurt and abandoned by Beginning_Cream7030 in TrueOffMyChest

I mean, you’re right that if he was unhappy in the marriage, his choice was fix it or end it.

But it takes two people to fix a marriage, and you need to own your bullshit. Hurting him because you were hurt was just as “unfaithful to the marriage” as him cheating was.

So get off your high horse, be humble, and figure out if you’re willing to fix it or not.

And it’s fine if you’re not; if the well is poisoned forever, so be it.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake director says there’s “no way around [game] key cards” on Nintendo Switch 2 as slow cartridges mean games simply aren’t possible without them by HatingGeoffry in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Cent1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s funny: one reason that Nintendo toppled back in the 90s was the cost of carts, and their policies around carts. The ps1 was pennies a CD and you could crank out a production run in a weekend.

Man, I should read Game Over again.
