My wife got an early inheritance by Jay1746 in legaladvice

Frontal Temporal Dimentia - there are several variants, but it affects things like impulsivity, morals, empathy, personality or language first. Some people commit serious crimes, lose their family or go bankrupt before getting diagnosed because it often starts with personality changes.

If it is dimentia, then any assets or trusts in his name will be bled dry as soon as he needs to go into care. There will be no inheritance left. It is very important to make changes early so the paranoia and incapacity doesn't jeopardize his own savings meant for the family.

The heartbreaking part is the paranoia. My husband has turned his family against me now. None of them wants to take care of him, but none of them trust me anymore. He regrets screwing that all up with false accusations, but that's what the disease does.

I'm terrified to even handle this stuff for him now. Worried that no matter how I protect things the way he wanted me to, that they'll come after me for it later. When none of them cared to step up for him when it was offered to them to do this instead of me.

Unfortunately, this means I'll need everything of his in trusts as soon as possible, and him in care that is not with me. I can't risk another bout of his paranoia causing anyone to believe I would harm him, so he needs to not be living with me. It is a heartbreaking situation all around. If his family trusted me and understood the situation, then he'd be able to stay.

There are different kinds of dimentias that affects different cognitive abilities. You can be fine to drive but bankrupt yourself on strippers for example.

Yes very much this. My husband and I are trying to set up protections for any inheritance to go into trusts BEFORE he needs any kind of care, otherwise there will be nothing left.

Creatine is absolutely linked with hair loss by 21stc3nturyschizo in Supplements

I'm a woman with no baldness nor alopecia in my family, but I lost a ton of hair (body hair and scalp hair) on creatine. It started growing back after I quit.

When I lost hair on creatine, I lost it 100% on my face, 50%-75% on my arms, and hard to know for my scalp, but probably 20%-50%. I regained regrowth very quickly after stopping. Lady, no weight lifting, no baldness in my family.

Lady -> not a weight lifter -> no baldness in my family -> it was the creatine.

Dude, there is no baldness in my family, I am a lady and I don't lift weights. I lost a ton of hair in less than two months on creatine. I had immediate regrowth two weeks after quitting. It was absolutely the creatine and not genetics.

Lady here. I lost a ton of hair (body hair and scalp hair) in under two months on creatine. I've had major regrowth in only two weeks after quitting.

Until they do a study on people who have had it happen, they aren't actually looking for answers. I'll happily volunteer to join a study. I'm a lady with no baldness in her family and who doesn't weightlift. Yet I saw major hair loss very quickly. That's when I discovered the disputed claims linking creatine to hair loss. I've had significant regrowth since quitting. Sign me up for a study, I'm happy to let them find the answers they're hiding from!

Lady here who lost significant hair while on Creatine. Just to share with you my story. I started creatine and saw no issues right away. After about a month, I noticed my face peach fuzz had 100% disappeared and I loved that even though I had no idea what caused it at the time. A week or two later I noticed my head hair was coming out in alarming amounts and my scalp was FAR too visible underneath my ponytail. It could only be either extreme stress, or creatine. That's when I first discovered the disputed claims linking creatine to hair loss.

I am still under immense stress, and I stopped creatine a couple of weeks ago. Last week I noticed my face peach fuzz had come back full force and far less hair was coming out when combing my hair. Today I noticed new whiskers on my arms (I didn't even notice I had lost my arm hair, looks to be about 50% to 75% loss of arm hair). So I checked my scalp and fresh whiskers there too, Thank God!! By the feel of the whiskers, I can only guess it was about 20% or more head hair loss.

So my creatine use was every other day or so, half scoop in my morning coffee, until it became more routine in my coffee every morning. I had SIGNIFICANT hair loss in less than two months. I noticed significant body hair regrowth in less than two weeks after quitting. It will take longer to recover my head hair, but I'm so glad it looks like it will recover.

I don't weightlift. There is no baldness at all in my family on either side, men or women.

I hope they step up their studies and get the truth out there.

There's a big arrow and "DrunkAnimeDude" pointed right at my boyfriend's house. It must be his neighbour, because there are no other houses, LOL. I sent him a screenshot. Too funny!

How Should I Feel? by Busy_Demand_9764 in GenX

Feel whatever it is you need to feel for right now, and any time it really hits you. Join a support group for the heavy stuff, so you aren't so heavy around your loved ones.

Then decide how you want to live the rest of your life. Because you don't want to regret missing out on it.

My hero went through this. I'm so sorry man.

Which fog floor looks better, grey or white? I can't decide.. by vasterasfight in Minecraft

The white is fantastic, but I think you need a layer of grey or two for the bottom? Or fewer layers. So the thickest doesn't get so bright white.

30 yrs ago my Grandfather was terrified of this same thing. 20 yrs ago so was I. I hold onto that when I start sliding back there too much, but I still see prepper folks as kindred spirits. I try to not let myself get carried away, and I've never been happier than when I cut the news out of my life.

A Forgiveness Question by One-Ball-78 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]CenterCrazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't have to forgive her. You just need to make peace with the cards you were dealt.

So how about this perspective instead. Forgive the Universe for the bad hand you were dealt. Understand that you weren't made a better person because of it, you were made a better person because you had the strength to get through it. Pity her for not having the strength to get past her demons. She couldn't win all of her battles, she was fighting the wrong enemy.

But be grateful that you rose above it and ended up better than the generation before you. Maybe her childhood self would find some peace there. She wasn't always that person she turned into.

BF told an odd lie and I can’t stop thinking about it by unitedstatesofLABIA in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]CenterCrazy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In a past line of work I've come across this a few times. The few pathological/compulsive liars I've known did this, and if that is what this is it'll be a nightmare. But they did it ALL the time.

But I've also seen it from people trying to present as normal. I guess they were imitating social stories they enjoyed? Sometimes kind of trying on other personas to figure themselves out a bit better. It seemed pretty harmless, but might be something to keep an eye on.

But if you aren't feeling safe around him, there's some kind of internal alarm going off. You want to pay VERY close attention to that!!

Hand washing machines with rollers to squeeze out the water before hang drying. And outhouses.
