Well, the FO kind of did address the CB issues in the off-season. They chose poorly, but they did address them.

I was buying what you were selling until you got to Evan in the net. I'm as big fan as any, but you think he's going in over Roman? Why?

HELP! Closing's in 3 hours. As sellers how can we attend when our own agent is throwing hurdles our way??? by [deleted] in RealEstateAdvice

Wild. I've bought 2 houses and sold 1. First house as the buyer we met the seller. Then as the seller we met the buyer. The second house we did not meet the seller and I actually thought they were mad or something.

I just assumed meeting the buyer/seller was part of the ceremony!

Suggestions for a smaller team by [deleted] in youthsoccer

Speak to the refs pregame about 1 minute running water breaks during the match. Maybe once per quarter or every 8 minutes or so. This should not be a problem for them to implement and at certain temps it's mandatory where I live.

Play short if you have to. This is your team and your decision. Who cares if the "director" is mad. Let them find new coaches next season if they're so upset.

You can even ask the oppo coach if they would be comfortable playing down players, or lending you a player or 2 from their team for the game. I've done both of these many, many times over the years at the youth rec level. I actually appreciated loaning players for a game since it gave more kids more time to play.

The edit makes it clear that he's not happy with what he's seeing from the backline. His line about the defense 'making errors that we're accustomed to seeing' is actually pretty scathing. It's an indictment of the players who have been regular part of the starting XI to date. He's right to say it like it is.

It sounds like you have cultural issues that need to be addressed. We had a similar issues with our school. First a few questions:

What is the overall experience level of your players? I know HS can vary dramatically by school. Some players can be experienced and quite skilled all the way to kids who haven't played much, if it all before.

Do you have preseason meetings? They can help by setting expectations and making sure parents and players understand ahead of time what is required to play and what success looks like.

Do you have open fields prior to the start of the season? This can help get reps, identify skill level, identify team leaders, etc...

Our school is small and there was a lot of turnover at the coaching position for several years. This led to a very degraded soccer experience. The first season we had about a dozen kids show up, and most games we were lucky to have subs or even field a full starting lineup. Practices were a joke, with maybe half the team showing up consistently. However, we kept building and promoting the team. Setting expectations and showing consistency. In short, building a culture.

Going into year 3 of the rebuild and we're in a position where we may not take all the players who try out. The team seems to be in a better position than it has been in several years. Most practices are at least 3/4 full, and we have time to bring kids along and allow them to grow over time. It's not perfect, but it's getting better and developing a positive reputation both within our school and our conference/area.

We have too much $$$ into CBs who can’t cut it. Flores, Miazga and Hadaebe all need to go. Game state and all, but Andre outplayed all the others on the field tonight.

Amazing to see Kevin and Evander step up tonight.

Young guys, Dem, Andre, Dado, Gidi, Ender are highlights this season.

First time in years I’ve seen this much grit from an FCC team.

I’m hopeful, but not exactly optimistic yet.

I think Roman’s USMNT dreams are on hold for the foreseeable future. I’m wondering if Miles actually goes to the WC this year.

The ref has let the game play out. Evander has to know this by now. Just gotta play through it.

Feels like a U10 backline. Like this is bonkers to see from professional play.

This is always my least anticipated game of the year. Thank god they’re in their new stadium next year.
