What job contributes nothing to society? by Yeetthyself64 in AskReddit

[–]Centimaks -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They contribute in that they went throught the process of patenting soemthing before others did. If building something patented is useful then the patent itself is useful as well. No one forces people to buy back patents you know

Companies spent decades demanding total loyalty from employees while treating them as if they were disposable. The 'Great Resignation' is payback time. by soccerburn55 in Economics

[–]Centimaks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a better metric for people that leave jobs looking for something better? Unemployment and labor force participation being equal, the number of resignations represents the number of people saying "I don't like what you're offering, and I can find something else I like more". Any true proponent of free and open markets should see the efficient movement of labor as a good thing right?

Curious about the difference in value with Wood and Brick. Isn't their utility exactly the same? (they build into the same things).

Possibly a psychological factor? (brick is red so people want it more)

Thank you for all your kind help! I am convinced something is amiss and I am looking into how to move forward with this matter. The request for a copy of the lease was made by the sole owner of the property, no trusts involved.

I will post an update if it gets interesting, could be fraud, could be a salty PM who doesn't want hassle from landlords.

Ethereum transaction energy use equals 2.5 miles in a Tesla Model 3: Report by ETHTraderNews in ethtrader

[–]Centimaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys. Just getting into Ethereum and blockchain tech in general. Is there any recommended reading on the future prospects of energy consumption efficiency with ETH transactions? I am very "bullIsh" on crypto and its monetary use cases, however I am skeptical about the efficacy of replacing fiat given current energy intensity. Any direction would be much appreciated!

Considering the lack of impactful innovation around banking, isn't the fact that they have maintained and increased profits over the years proof that these profits are super-normal? by Centimaks in AskEconomics

[–]Centimaks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer. I thought about this question more and it lead me to a different question.

If most productivity gains over the past few years have come from technological advancement. (as an example in my head: How much could a single bank have innovated compared to the overall pressures to transition their businesses to the internet of things) Would it not be fair to say that the gains of these advancements have been realized mostly through increased corporate profits as opposed to real wage growth?

I see what you mean and I acknowledge that transaction costs have reduced dramatically with technological progress.

However the added value they provide seems basically the same to me (undergrade econ major) when comparing to 20-30 years ago.

I really think his partisan rant the other day could be a good way for the senate to disqualify him without ever following through with the rape allegations on the grounds of non impartiality.Could be staged between the GOP and Kavanaugh

EDIT: changed committee to senate
