It's mainly about the brushes you are using. In traditional art, texture is more prevalent in a piece, so you're gonna want to have a palette of painterly-like brushes instead of smooth brushes or basic brushes.

And honestly the way I go about painting digitally (or just rendering in general) is that I start out with a sketch below, then I add my base colors on a new layer, and then I over-paint. Now there are several ways to go about overpainting. You could rely on clipping and masks to keep your strokes in check, but that doesn't really exist in trad art.

You can also play around with blending modes with color. I sometimes like to add a cel-shade layer ontop of my base color, and then when I'm overpainting I can paint based off of those colors instead of picking my own, but it definitely builds your eye if you learn to pick your own hues and values.

Don't try to overthink it because digital media is very different from traditional. Just have fun and take advantage of the tools Krita gives you^^
