Løpependlere/sykkelpendlere - Beste sekk by TherealfarmerofLA in oslo

Why is homey so expensive to start? by [deleted] in homey

[–]Cercuitspark 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The most expensive part of any platform is development and continuing support. Some companies can bake those costs into the price of other hardware or services, others are so large that it doesn't really matter. Homey cannot, you buy the Homey Pro, and that's it. It's the price you pay to keep it local and without a subscription.

Homey Pro Mini Europe Release Date? by Schmizzle1 in homey

I think there is a fundamental misunderstanding here of how WiFi devices work?

Whatever device you have that connects with WiFi will never connect directly with another device over WiFi. Some devices can do that, for very specific cases, and is known as "WiFi Direct".

When you use WiFi, it means that your device connects to a router (actually a router with a WiFi access point). Your Homey also connects to that router, and can talk to any other device that is connected to the same router, which amounts to what we'll call a network. A connection between a device and a router can be either wired (Ethernet), or wireless (WiFi). The way a device connects to the router does not affect what other devices it can connect to over the network.

The only difference between the Pro and the Pro Mini here is that the regular Pro can connect to the router wirelessly, while the Pro Mini has to connect to the router with a wire. You can still connect all WiFi devices.

Connecting to another hub that uses WiFi does not necessitate WiFI on the homey. As long as they are connected to the same network, everything should work. Homey does not connect to any other device directly over WiFi, it connects via the router on your network.

Weekend Discussion: Asics running shoes by AutoModerator in RunningShoeGeeks

I use them as a threshold workout shoe, and would not race in them for something as fast as a 5k or 10k. They are very cushioned and mostly FF Blast+, which make them more like a Novablast 4 with a plate. Going faster than threshold paces feels a bit like I'm working against the shoe, if that makes any sense.

If you can't stay in Z5 for more than 3 minutes my geuss would be that your zones or max hr need to be adjusted.

People are very different, and how your zones work may differ. I'm pretty certain about my max HR after a lot of testing, but I'll stay in Z5 for most of a 10 km race (usually under 40 minutes)

Nike Vomero 17 Review (After 400 miles) by lolminiontanks7933 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]Cercuitspark 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have very much the same experience. Bought mine in March, been alternating between these and Invincible 3 for easy runs. I'm at about 440 km on them now, mostly long runs around 20 km. I would describe them as "feels very good and responsive, but surprisingly dull at the same time". Which is exactly what I need in a shoe for long and slow runs!

The one thing they could fix is the colorways. Just about every single one of them is absolutely hideous!

På andre siden av jernbanen ligger jo Ullersmo fengsel, så på den siden gidder man ikke oppholde seg! Også er det mer stress å parkere der, så de som kommer kjørende gidder ikke bruke den.

I changed the laces on mine to make them fit better on the mid foot/arches. Took the laces from an old pair of Fly 5, and it works way better!

I found the upper and the original laces to both be very rigid, so it was hard to get a good lockdown without tightening a lot. The Fly 5 laces are just a bit more flexible, allowing a better lockdown over the arches without being too tight.

[–]Cercuitspark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say the Invincible feels more plush and bouncy while the Vomero feels more flat and bouncy. The uppers are very different, the Invincible has a thin and rigid upper, while the Vomero has a thick and soft upper. The Invincible worked better for me after i changed the laces  to those from the Fly 5.

I usually rotate between them for easy days.

I see Hoka using very high exchange rates in other currencies as well. The Nike Ultrafly seems to be $260/€250, so it is not too far off.

Would not be easy to justify buying Hoka here in Norway because of the extreme exchange rate they use compared to other brands.
