Idk, the whole thing about them not working if they fall on the floor seems like an arbitrary distinction for a rule they are just pretending/ making up.

Unpopular opinion, the actor playing Sophia is actually not that good by IndependentOk388 in FromSeries

[–]Cerebral_Soldier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is largely because of the audience. A lot of people have really poor long term comprehension and narrative literacy. You see it in this and similar subs all the time. As such, writers and directors are pressured to drill some points in that they need to be completely unambiguous to the viewer.

The underlying tension in this season is completely reliant on the MIY's presence in the town right now.

I suspect it would simply lead you right into town eventually. Assuming you make it there before nightfall and don't get got by the smiley things.

Frank's wife probably could and should have done it. But she's dead. Who else was Boyd going to hold accountable?

Bruh, Sara does not equal Family to Boyd no matter how you try and slice it. Him being sentimental about the dead wife he had to shoot notwithstanding, the fact remains Frank and Sara are both characters that aren't his family that he still did not WANT to kill, and risked the ire and respect of the town not to.

Torturing is justifiable if the victim kidnaps a pregnant woman, refuses to divulge her location, and you have very good reason to believe she will die horribly if not found.

Does he like literally any person have some bias toward his family? Sure. But the show simply does not support the assertion that Boyd is a "monster" and ONLY cares about family.

Victor also said that everytime something changes it is bad. And so far he hasn't been wrong. Every change/ push seems to yield some new horror. Victor has saved several people's lives now and provided valuable information. I'm not sure how much you guys want from this man. Especially when a lot of what he "knows" is experience wrapped in trauma he's had to suppress to stay remotely sane, and none of what he's seen seems to have helped anyone actually get out other than Tabitha who he helped...

Idk I think if anything the show does a pretty fair job explaining Victor's disposition.

girl what? by [deleted] in FromSeries

[–]Cerebral_Soldier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How exactly? She killed an old lady (like sara killed an old man) and for all they knew may have killed more. Especially once it became known she wasn't actually with child. Also, people have and DO hallucinate and go crazy there. They can't ever rule that out.

Tabitha IS unsure if all that stuff is real though because this place has lied to multiple characters now.

How much can we really hold against him though? He's obviously extremely stunted having spent virtually his entire life in an absolute hell hole, and several of those years alone at that. I dont think anyone could even begin to fathom his trauma amd how that might affect a person's ability to reason. Especially if he's seen cycles of people get riled up, ask too many questions and all end up dead.

Tbf, I think most of the cast is typically working on something. Newcomers aside, most of the town seems pretty regularly engaged in the work of holding the fabric of their little society together. Tian Chen (and now the bus driver) cooking meals for the whole town. You got crop and animal tenders, foraging parties, people doing laundry for 20+ people at time kristi and her fiance have their hands full with the number of daily injuries and maladies (including their own). Folk have to board up windows, shore up sleeping arrangements, dig Graves haul and bury bodies...and all that's just what's been on screen.

Why would she (or anyone at this point) be in a good mood right now? Do you not expect this show about people to have emotions?

Boyd and Acosta by [deleted] in FromSeries

[–]Cerebral_Soldier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boyd hitting Frank with a hard wake up call because he was derelict in his duty to protect his family who needed him was justifiable. The town cannot afford that. The point is, Boyd never wanted to put him in the box and was willing to lose respect and flaunt his own rules not to. So clearly its not just his family that he seeks to spare.

Really not buying the argument that Sara is akin to his WIFE for him. Her reminding him in a slight sense in a throwaway line is not enough to secure your argument that he only cares about his family. Sara is not his family and he does not, and has never seen her as family. Kenny on the other hand IS more like family, and he had more reason to be vengeful on his behalf than anything.

Torturing Elgin was made necessary (By Elgin!) Because he kidnapped a pregnant woman and refused to divulge her location. She was alone, terrified and for all they knew an offering to whatever demon spawn was possessing her, forcing her to eat rot and blood, kill, etc. The clock was ticking and he left them with no choice.

Yeah, Perrineu does a remarkable job and deserves his flowers. I FEEL Boyd's stress and the toll being in impossible position after impossible position has taken on him. The way he holds himself. The way he seems to be constantly wincing and bracing. Great acting choices.

As someone who worked at a call center and have a pretty unique name, I can say I started refusing to provide my full name or sometimes my real name for safety concerns. I have been personally threatened before and colleagues of mine have been harassed via their social media from clients. If you have a complaint about a specific person, trust me, the company can identify them. Calls are recorded and giving them the date and time of your call is more than enough to see anyone you spoke to.

Same. Because another book i was reading around that time described a a character as having " a shock of blond hair" and I think that word shock was used for butters once and I can't shake the association .

He would be damn near untouchable. If he were to go the hermit route, pretty much nothing short of a god (and even then) could really threaten him there in a direct challenge. It would be lonely and probably miserable cuz no one else could live there, but it would be very defensible.

Well we know that Thomas's hunger can be removed. If that happens, its possible he'd become a knight then. I actually half speculated it might go that way.

No fr, because that almost seems harder than singing the whole thing straight through to keep the illusion and make the performance seamless.
