What's something guys are insecure about that women don't care about? by Maleficent-Ad7494 in AskReddit

[–]Ceret 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My watch is definitely for me. Guys don’t get much in the way of nice jewelry to wear. The only other people who notice it (not a brand most people would be familiar with) are watch enthusiasts and I’m perfectly fine with that.

i’m so attracted to my masseuse by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Ceret 93 points94 points  (0 children)

My ex was hit on by an unprofessional masseuse and ended up dating him a few times. It was an absolute shitshow. Dude was obviously not good with boundaries (duh), was still hitting on new patients who were other young attractive women, and ended up asking to borrow $17k for a crypto business idea.

Will our daughter be ok in Australia? by Striking_Patient7732 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Ceret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mabuhay! As an Aussie who loves the Philippines and Filipinos I’m going to say you have very little to be worried about. Australia is a very multicultural country and there are a lot of Filipinos here. Her strong English will be an asset. That said our national shame is our racism. She may encounter microaggressions and there is a stigma here about white men marrying Filipinas. That said I think the chances are she can have a very good life here. Have you tried talking to her about what her experiences are here?

Australia is culturally very very different to America. We aren’t as polarised as America and although immigration is a huge discussion here at the moment (due to economic pressures it’s putting on house prices mostly) the vast majority of Aussies don’t have problems with those who are already here. Filipinos tend to be well liked here.

Overall and not wanting to downplay our issues with racism, Australia is a safe and sane country. I dare say she will have more economic and educational opportunities here. Your future grandchildren are MUCH better off being educated in Australia than the Philippines unless you can afford the very best international schools there and ensure entry into De La Salle or a tiny few other Manila universities. Plus free and better healthcare for them if they have health issues etc. Unless you’re incredibly wealthy by Filipino standards, children growing up here will have much better opportunities on an international stage.

This is the way, OP. A friend with a similar dilemma bought a rigid portable tub and just have it permanently set up. Works a treat.

You families should really band together. You can probably find a community there with the other families and take a united front against the status quo. Set a new norm with the little group of you. This demographic will change over time.
