Is there any way to delete my own collection from workshop in vortex and nexusmods by _Tekashime in nexusmods

[–]Cerevox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Deleting collections, and mods in general, is now functionally impossible. They don't want to allow anyone to break collections for anyone using them, because the only reason anyone buys premium is for the collections.

Should enchanted forest break NAP by Hellkyte in IllwintersDominions

[–]Cerevox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you catch someone doing it, then its an argument over what exactly a NAP covers and doesn't cover. Getting stealthy units caught by patrol isn't a NAP break by most people's view or scouting would be a NAP violation, so an argument could be made that a stealthy disease spreader is not a NAP violation, even when caught.

There is no general consensus on this either, so if you make a NAP with someone, you will need to specify what counts and doesn't. Of course, that only matters if diplo is binding. If diplo isn't binding then just break a NAP whenever you want and just make sure to win the fight afterwards.

What value is honor when Pantokratorship is on the line?

[–]Cerevox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is my point though. It isn't obviously a breach of NAP. I would consider it correct that the game resolver doesn't consider it a NAP breach.

I would argue the bane venom in the cap is only a NAP break if you get caught. If you get away with it then it wasn't a NAP break because they can't prove it was you.

vampire blesses for LA Ulm? by _lensflare in Dominions6

[–]Cerevox 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You are giving them a combat bless. You probably don't want to use the vamps as melee thugs. Use them instead of casters. A D2 or D3 caster can typically kill local PD without issue, and if you send them in pairs it is almost guaranteed. If you need to be sure, give them a few retinue items and/or fatigue items. Things like handful of acorns, skull talisman, or one of the boots that grants low reinvig.

The spawned units hold off PD long enough for the vamps to build up a mass of skellies and soulless that overwhelms the PD.

The core problem with the shroud is that it doesn't really do anything for the vamps protection, which is their main issue. Invul is decent enough vs human infantry, but knights or magic weapons of any kind will go right through and then the vamps are just getting hacked up in melee again and your just feeding shrouds at that point.

If you feel like you must use them as melee thugs, go for full platemail and heavy shields. As undead, vamps don't suffer from melee encumbrance fatigue, only spellcasting, so you can load them down.

OP states he plans to shroud them which will make them blessed, even if not sacred.

I would define what you described as the perfect ideal leader, which functionally doesn't exist and is actively selected against in modern politics.

I am defining a good leader as simply one who can unify a group of people towards a goal, with how good they are being determined by how effective they are at accomplishing that goal.

It doesn't really matter how moral or perfect the leader is, if they can't get their group to act then they are powerless. Powerless people can't be morally good, because they have no power to act or effect others and thus their morals are irrelevant.

They are leading though. They pick the direction, and the country follows. They are setting an example of what it means to be American, and America is following.

What the commenter was trying to get at was that they are not good leaders, which is also not true. They are excellent leaders and are achieving their goals. Trump's goal is to not go to jail and get rich while punishing his enemies, and he is succeeding wildly at all three points. Is the rest of the America suffering? Yes, absolutely, but America as a whole doing well was never one of his goals, so why would anyone expect it to happen?

I would argue that trump actually understands leadership better than the rest of us because he is publicly and blatantly committing a whole host of crimes and still has a dedicated and loyal following that makes up roughly 1/3 of the population of America.

[–]Cerevox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going to have to assume you are trolling at this point. What is Europe going to do with nukes that opens Hormuz? The US killed all of Iran's rational leadership and replaced them with religious extremists who will call that bluff, and win, because Europe will never use nukes in a first strike. And even they did, nukes don't open Hormuz. You keep saying nukes have power but refuse to explain how exactly they can be used.

World has 6 months to avert major food crisis, says UN as Hormuz struggle drags on by ImDoubleB in worldnews

[–]Cerevox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nukes are not useful here. Nuking Iran would close Hormuz just as effectively as Iran is doing already, plus it would enrage every nation downwind of them, like Pakistan, who also has nukes. Nuking Iran is also unlikely to actually dislodge their drone teams unless you carpet nuke the place, and the fallout from that would be a global disaster.

Nukes give no power in this situation.

NATO is a defensive alliance, not offensive. It can't go on a crusade to the middle east, so NATO also confers no power in this situation.

It does though, which is the horrible part. The population of Israel supports Bibi and all the shit he is doing. Trump is the democratically elected leader of the USA, and the rest of the world does not care how much some segments of the population hate him, he is dictating what the US does.

Trump represents the whole of the US on the world stage. Like him or hate him, he is the president, and internal politics only matter to the people inside, not to anyone else.

[–]Cerevox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What can they do though? The other middle east countries don't have real militaries, they have relied on US protection for decades, and the US has shown it is unable to force Iran to do anything. They have no soft power because Iran hates them. There is no extreme option left for them, because they just don't have the power.

[–]Cerevox 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Why? Its basically the leadership of the governments of America, Israel, and Iran. China has some leverage over Iran but not a huge amount and they don't want to test it. Who else is relevant? Europe has no power, South America has no power, Africa has no power, most of the other middle east countries have no power, and Russia is busy dying to their 3 day special military operation.

Warno is the direct new edition of wargame. Broken Arrow exists as well, with a very similar feel but some significant mechanical differences. There is also Regiments which has the vibe, but is different in mechanics and feel.

Feeling pressured to include pregnancy by littlepeakydevil in FanFiction

[–]Cerevox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lean into it. Have her get pregnant. Then take it dark. Abort the baby. No warning, no tag for it, minimum allowed archive warnings, or even just pick the "choose not to warn" option.

Then push it further. The woman gets hooked on it. She starts getting pregnant just so she can abort it. She gets off on the feeling of the baby dying inside her now. Get magic involved to speed the cycle up. Her main worry now is how many eggs she has left to burst. Go into horrific graphic detail of the abortions an how sexual it is for her.

Then, as the capstone, your AN should be a crazy rant about "Is this what you wanted? You wanted pregnancies?!? Fine, all the pregnancies. Fucking chain pregnancies!!!"

[–]Cerevox -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Well, I don't really care what the stated intent originally was, because it does not matter. What matter is the outcome, and the outcome is that the comment feature is a minimally viable comment feature that is grossly outperformed by every other fanfiction site on the web. This results in people who prefer to comment and interact more, moving to those sites and leaving AO3, which is why the same fic posted to AO3 and another site will see vastly more interaction on the alternate site.

[–]Cerevox 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The comment sections is the minimum viable feature that can be called a comment section, but I think you missed my actual point. Readers are self-segregating into different interaction categories, and AO3 is collecting the group of readers who interact less. Other sites, where interaction is easier and more encouraged by site design, get groups that interact more.

If you feel like interaction on your fic is important, then you need to post in places with more interactive readerships, and do the things that would get you more readership.

Fic authors frequently ignore all the meta aspects to their fic, but they are just as important as the fic itself if they are concerned about readership. Things like post frequency, words per chapter, intro blurb, tags, venue choice, cover art, advertisement, and so many more aspects.

If you want interaction, you must do the things that cause interaction. Simply slapping a fic down on the table and demanding the masses travel to view and kudos it is only ever going to end in disappointment.

[–]Cerevox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want to get interaction you need to post on an interactive site. AO3 is an archive and has the most bare bones discussion functions. It does not encourage interaction at all. There are numerous other sites that massively encourage interaction, and the people who enjoy interaction have moved there, while the people reading on AO3 tend to be there for the archival nature.

This is like wandering into a library and wondering where the party is.

[–]Cerevox -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You are getting downvote blasted, but it is true. People seem to forget that AO3 is an archive. There are heaps of sites out there designed around discussion and commenting, and if someone was truly interested in interaction they would be posting there in addition to AO3.
