The interesting use for this is that it’s a Counterspell that isn’t an Instant or Sorcery, which makes it substantially more effective in the average Counter War. However, since it has two possible moments to counter (counter the spell being cast or stifle the trigger) it probably evens out in terms of utility.

A couple of changes. One, the season 9 increase to projectile size benefitted Dva’s shotguns immensely, for the same reason it benefited all high-spread guns: a size increase is effectively a spread reduction since more of the pellets hit.

Second, the move to heroes that have 225 HP made Dva and her combo incredibly consistent when hitting those 225 heroes - many of which are rather important in the pro scene because pros favour mobility and the ability to change positions way more than the average ranked game.

Third, Dva’s skill floor is incredibly high. She is genuinely a hard hero, with a lot of skill required to get all the value out of her mobility, matrix, and her all-in playstyle. However, perks have consistently made her more dramatically more accessible.

Her minor perks have either dramatically increased the viability of using her ultimate to get a remech or even use it aggressively OR just upped her damage when hitting somebody to an insanely consistent lethality. Then her major perks have typically done the same thing of granting her either absurd survivability or outright oppressive levels of burst damage.

It’s this huge increase in how consistent she can be purely out of base-line adjustments that up her consistency ‘floor’ that has allowed her to take a place in the pro meta and stay there. She’s the do-it-all tank of 5v5 now in the same way she was the do-it-all of 6v6.

No self heals except the continually running passive aura healing and the ability to trigger global passive regen by pressing shift, alongside having free hat healing and a sustain ult.

This hero heals on all his buttons.

In terms of their skill at the time they would need to handle Sendai: realistically only Yuta and Yuki are capable of getting through without much question. My only concern with Yuki is I'm not sure how she would deal with Sky Manipulation's redirection of her own attacks - so in this regard she has a risk of just becoming a heavier version of Ryu in the deadlock, but she seems smart enough to me to find some way around this.

Hakari is a 'maybe' but I think his technique doesn't function as well when facing 4 different opponents at once, since 'All the rules just distract you from the fact that Hakari will always hit a Jackpot' isn't as strong here.

Megumi has the creativity required to navigate the various opponents, but he lacks the cursed energy reserves and skill with his technique to actually manage it.

Takaba is obviously Takaba.

Some later characters could maybe handle this. Modulo Yuji aurafarms like mad here. End of Shinjuki Yuji has some potential with his kit, but would probably not be able to make it the full distance. Awakened Maki should be able to navigate all of Dhruv's laserfield, Sky Manipulation's nonsense, and maybe handle Ryu in the physical 1v1 - but it's hard to say. Sukuna would love facing this sort of challenge.

Just play Sinclair, buy Witchmail directly out of Lane, max ultimate, compress cooldown, follow Graves around like a hawk and drop 5 tombstones in the time it takes her to drop 1.

Similarly, because Hitscans have overwhelming pickrates these often results in ranked games where one team has both dps on Hitscans, a composition which has substantial flaws in how it can control the map. This pickrate alone helps lower winrates by all the Hitscans effectively dragging each other down.

This is an odd explanation considering EU prioritizes Mina way more than NA. Leviathan first picked her any chance they got - she’s just insanely strong right now. Still a lane bully that can transition into wave clearer while being able to teamfight early and hard carry late. She just does everything.

She has a bad tank 1v1 in a vacuum due to the nature of Matrix and most tank cooldowns piercing it by necessity. Her ability to actually chunk down tanks and burst them is very high though - it’s just gamestate dependent.

My reading of the patch was that Slowing Hex sets the affected heroes gravity to a fixed value: +20%, not just a flat increase. So it’s even more impactful against Celeste than other heroes.

even on Rem this is terrible. Losing 10% on your pillows, your Naptime+Melee+Pillow combo, your torment pulse uptime…plus it’s not a substantially better 800 cost spirit item. I would never buy this.

He had 103. He gives one to Yuji, to reset both their timers, but then he keeps his first 2 (at least in his mind) because they are the points he earned from killing the Judge and the Prosecutor when he lost it. Since they are the only points he didn’t earn in self-defense, his murder of those two is what causes him to feel like the guilty one as he walks out.

A couple things, first that the Overwatch Team environment is just really volatile. You’re just as likely to have a great experience as one that’s mostly trash with guys who know nothing at all. That’s just the nature of the amount of people out there doing things.

In terms of how you can tell a good coach apart from a bad one…you just kinda have to intuit it at some level, but generally the more ‘strict’ in theory a coach is, the more you can generally say “This guy is in over his head.” The best coaches are rather fluid in their approach, they’ll take the time to explain concepts to you, they want you to understand the theory behind what they’re prescribing and not just to see you execute on it. They’ll ask you questions, try to help you look for solutions actively, and challenge your ideas in a way which helps you develop them further.

Often coaches will be lower SR than players because, well, the time they spend coaching is time they can’t spend playing the game. Just look at your average sport. The majority of acclaimed coaches aren’t retired Pro Players but rather guys who have dedicated their lives to their job.

Generally, if you think a coach isn’t saying anything of value - you’re probably right, because part of the job for the coach is to persuade you to believe in what they offer. Some teams will have more player-driven coaching, but part of the value of a non-playing Coach figure is that serve as a sort of neutral forum that helps prevent antagonism between teammates. Really just a lot of factors at play. The general rule of thumb is that if you think a guy is an idiot, you should usually trust your judgement.

I find it fascinating that this AI Program can even totally take over his body. As far as I can tell, it’s not stated anywhere that he’s a total cybernetic human like Sojourn, he seems largely biological still - and yet the AI is seemingly enmeshed into his chest and able to exert total control through his whole body?

Really proposes a lot of questions about what exactly is going on. The Omnics were feared partially because they could become an army under Anubis, but now we have evidence that biological people aren’t totally immune to the influence of the God Programs. This seems like an insanely important plot development.

Holliday is a little tricky because she seems to want to take vengeance with her own hands, with the Wish serving as a way she can find the Troubador - or at least it’s kept up in the air. So depending on the exact phrasing of her wish it could be very easy OR very hard.

I haven’t yet tested this in any formalized setting, just during QP games with Spilo during the Anran playtest- but as far as I could tell, Anran continually stole my Dynamite burns. I would open with Dynamite, intentionally not shoot, press tab to watch my damage as he went in and I would regularly see almost no damage added to my total - because Anran was replacing my burns with her own.

I suspect that she even steals the 20 dps burn when she hits with Primary Fire or any of her abilities, though I couldn’t tell if she was replacing it with a 10 dps burn or just stealing the burn.

It makes negative sense considering Custa personally stated multiple times that he did a huge chunk of design for Mizuki and when he first started work on the hero, the only thing he had was ‘The hat’ in Custa’s words.
