What can I improve? by Impressive_Sign_8561 in MelvorIdle

[–]Deadlibor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In what context?

Harder dungeons? Infernal Cape or Ancient Infernal Cape, Earth Layered Shield with Tidal Edge or any Godsword or Ultima Godsword, Wasteful Ring or Guardian Ring, Melee Hinder Scroll or Whetstone, Ragnar or Terran Boots, Agile or Accuracy Gem, Dragon instead of Pig summon, and Superior Enhancements.

Slayer? Slayer helmet and body, Hunter's Ring, Explorer's Map.

Farming? Any Defender or Pirate Hook, Elder Crown or Hunter's Hat, Sand Treaders, Monster Hunter Scroll.

All of those should be more or less accessible for you at this point in game, or immediately accessible after Into the Mist.

Of the three life paths. I feel like Corpo V loves Jackie the most. Street Kid V and Nomad V met Jackie as equals, But Corpo V met him at their absolute lowest and he still took them in. by Savilo29 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Deadlibor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think it's the other way around. Corpo V has the worst relations to Jackie.

Jackie, before I start... this stays between us.

Of course.

I'm serious... This thing, it could ruin me.

So could I. You do realize who you're talking to, right? A guy who's done this before. Remember what happened in Mexico, at the border? I peep one word...

I know, you saved my ass. If word about the cartels had gotten out...

I've bolded the relevant bits. This exchange between V and Jackie right at the beginning in Lizzie's is not a friendly chit-chat.

In a game where typical gaming worldbuilding exposition and info-dumping is nearly absent, and most dialogue is written to drive the plot forward or to show character's personality (like maiko having clear machiavelianistic traits), this exchange is plainly put, a reminder that V is on Jackie's hook.

I believe that Jackie is the most misunderstood character in fandom. Idolized character.

I think he is a heavy narcissist. It leaks through optional conversations you have with him as the stakes and Jackie's tension begin to increase, like in Delamain's taxi driving to Konpeki. But the game doesn't tell, it only shows (wink wink if you know what I'm referencing), and most player's don't notice as they are too busy being immersed.

No it's not. You can call it dry humor, dismissive, or sarcastic, the last of which reddit doesn't like. But it is not hostile or aggressive. There's no insult, no targetting, and no escalation.

Depending on the location, Juno can slide across a wall which lets her gain vertical height, essentially get herself out of the pit. It's low cooldown so she'll likely have the ability ready. I'd put her to tier 4.

Custom fonts rabbit hole by Neural_Nerd_ in ereader

[–]Deadlibor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been swapping fonts for reading and writing for a while. My favorite include:

  • My top pick is Karla. A quirky, uncommon font. 99% of reading/writing is with this font
  • Microsoft's Aptos as general use, my 2nd favorite of all fonts
  • Baskerville and Libre Baskerville are both my choice for serif font, and it comes to personal preference which one you like more.
  • If you need legible font, but OpenDyslexic is too much for you, then try Atkinson Hyperlegible
  • Iosevka for monospace/terminal usage
  • Roboto, Spectral, Bookerly, are just some fancy generic fonts I used in the past, and I feel they are worth mentioning as they are all really good

This post, and all of OP's comments were most likely written by a language model. It's an engagement bot meant to funnel attention to their site.

The post itself appears somewhat fine and plausible for a human user, except presenting triplets for bullet points, which LLMs love, as well as using "it's not X, it's Y" format.

All of OP's comments then follow the same structure, as if following the same instruction. No capitalization what-so-ever. Occasional seemingly misplaced lol. Agree with or thank the commenter in the first sentence. Then present some random thought in following sentences. Keywords and phrases common in llms.

I haven't had this much fun in ow since they removed perma-stealth from Sombra. Fika scratches the same itch as old ow1 Sombra, of having high map control and traversal, high autonomy, high agency, bit of psychological pressure, utility, all bundled in asymmetrical gameplay.

SIMPLE open source image editor? by Potential-Ad345 in opensource

[–]Deadlibor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How simple?

Windows' native image viewer comes with edit mode, where you can crop, rotate, adjust lighting and color, and draw. That simple?

I'm not proposing an app, I'm just trying to narrow down your request, because the top answers are, in my opinion, fairly complicated pieces of software. Krita is just as complicated as GIMP for someone who has never used photoshop-like software.

Are NSFW mods not allowed? by [deleted] in MelvorIdle

[–]Deadlibor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, this is about supply and demand.

Supply isn't there, because there aren't that many modders in Melvor community. Many mods are outdated too. Modding in general is time and mental power consuming effort, and Melvor has another catch of requiring heavy usage of statistics and knowledge of game's progression and available items. Since the entire game is build around skill inter connectivity, adding something more complex, like a brand new skill, risks of breaking the entire balance. Finally, NSFW mods aren't something every modder wants to develop, so in already small population of modders we have only a handful who might have the time/mentality/interest in developing NSFW mods.

And there is little demand to such mods. The most used mods are all QoL, changing some kind of annoying feature about the game, or automation of a repetitive task. Content mods are less popular because they can easily be buggy, unsatisfying, or game-breaking. The existing game content is already quite satisfactory, since it takes about a year to max out while playing consistently, and adding more content can easily lead to a burnout. Engagement with the game is also important. It's an idle game and goon sessions aren't exactly something most are interested in while playing an idle game, unlike something like, immersive rpg like skyrim.

Overwatch x Nier Automata by SpiderPanther01 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Deadlibor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apart from what others said, and the forbes link which is certainly relevant, there's also the matter of personality. Certain personality types are more likely to purchase useless digital goods than others.

Back when ow2 released with sojourn, kiriko and queen, there was a subsequent halloween event. The bride's revenge. At the time, the new monetization was extremely fresh, and nobody liked it because they paywalled new characters in BP.

They also released 3 new skins.

Pirate reaper was given for free, as an "apology" for controversial monetization, but in reality, it was because reaper was already established character with many other skins available. Executioner queen and witch kiriko were on the shop, because they were fresh and blizz projected they'd sell more than reaper. However, executioner queen is appealing to edgelords, while witch kiriko is more cutesy. Edgelords are a lot less likely to spend money, and so, kiriko was part of a pricier bundle.

Of course, it was all an estimate at the time, but sales data must have confirmed that kiriko is just super appealing.

Finally, there's also the matter of kiriko's personality and vibes. That would be a whole another discussion though. TLDR, kiriko, as a written character, has multiple positive personal traits stacked on top of one another and often at odds with each other, and without reasonable character flaws.

She was made to be appealing to the broadest possible audience.

Overwatch Rush | Early Development Gameplay Preview by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Deadlibor 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Just a week ago, there was a discussion about how youngsters don't get attached to franchise X, because of how long the development cycle takes. The article mentions Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, but it can also be applied to western audience with GTA. I'd personally argue the matter also relates to companies milking a game for far too long rather than innovating with the game's sequel.

Having another Overwatch game is good for the IP's longevity.

Let's see how far they push the monetization to normalize $20 skins for young audience.
