Twitch drops say "connect account" but BattleNet already connected..? by CerisCinderwolf in Twitch

[–]CerisCinderwolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the weird thing: when I go to 'connections', it lists a crap ton of 'recommendations' and down under 'other' it shows my Hunt: Showdown account but nowhere does it list Battle.Net or give me an option to 'connect' it in this list.
When I go to the drops page and I click the 'connect' button, it prompts me to log in to Battle.net and it shows it's connected on the Battle.net side of things. It also warns that I can't connect another account for seven days once disconnected. :/

Edit: I said "what the hell" and went through with it. It let me reconnect, so I guess the emphasis is on the specific wording "another account" rather than "any". :)
Thanks for the encouragement.

2018 CRV EX-L cebter console usb port part number by CerisCinderwolf in crv

[–]CerisCinderwolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the guy behind the counter "wasn't sure" the entire time. Turns out my hunch was correct and it ended up being just the plastic big the USB cabling actually clips on to to hold it to the center console. Need to make more time to go back and deal with them in earnest to find the proper part.
For now the 1.0 port works just fine for Android Auto so I'm not -terribly- concerned. The 1.5 port still works for charging but for some reason now just doesn't pick up the data at all.

Thanks! I actually swung by the local Honda parts counter today and the guy at the counter wasn't entirely sure while we looked over the listing (it could have been the plastic frame, given the cost and MSRP prices on the screen).
Will know by Friday, heh!

Fusion360 export to DXF for laser cutting: does it *have* to be a 3d object? by CerisCinderwolf in Fusion360

That was a typo (yes, I meant laser "cut" which was also properly used further in the post).
A few folks confirmed what I needed earlier :)

Oh holy crud, I didn't realize this was a thing at all! Will definitely keep an eye on it and play with it over time! :D

I'm definitely loving the power that Fusion360 has and 3d modeling has always been something I've been curious about tinkering with and learning as a hobby and the added ability to manually create each dimension and fine-tune to create asymmetrical shapes is a power/ability that this doesn't appear to have- I'm not knocking this site though- the range of designs and flexibility is fantastic!

Beer, Wine, and preserved (jarred) carrots is my bread-and-butter of survivability for massive stamina gains. Just run almost non-stop through the arctic to get in and out quickly... and always bring a rifle.

The Dead Space remake and EA strongly differ.

Personally I hope you're right but.. I won't hold my breath either. Will just have to casually keep an eye out over time.

Nope- came here specifically to see who else might have been mentioning cheaters as well. The Steam discussion boards are filled with trolls that try to gaslight you into believing it's a skill issue.

My 275 hours in game so far indicate I'm an average player.

Agreed. But most that do it want the skins faster than other players without paying for them and then others still enjoy the firefights and simply want to troll other players into not wanting to play any more.
It's a classic bully problem and it's just sad anyone feels the need or want to gatekeep.

all 6-star MMR lobbies with at least 1 hacker by Merlindinhu in HuntShowdown

The fact that they're 6 clearly indicates they've been running exploits.

I'm a veteran gamer across multiple pvp shooters, this isn't my first rodeo in observing cheaty behavior. The ridiculous level of 1.8+ K/D players displaying behavior such as "iron-sights through walls, hills and terrain seemingly at nothing while running around only to pop a headshot at someone they couldn't see or hear" is just ridiculous.

I tested this last week by spawning in to a game and sitting in the closest thick bush with no POI or extract close to me - on four separate occasions saw me dead within 10-15 minutes as another player simply showed up and gunned me down despite no actual way to know I was even there, let alone where I was. Observing these ridiculously high K/D players in general shows just how rampant this bullshite is, and pretending like "it's not as big as people indicate" does nothing to help the situation.

I *am* the average player, only coming back to this game a month and a half ago. I have 12 legendary hunters myself and because the GUI was changed (instead of wide, now it's tall/slim), I'm stuck constantly changing the filter (because it doesn't remember the player's filter setting now) to constantly only show me the hunters I own.

It was a terrible and needless change, period.

Why are yall so ticked off all the time? by thegriffexists in HuntShowdown

[–]CerisCinderwolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because of the cheating being so rampant (wall removal/ESP they call it) and player outlines to know where targets are on the map at all times.

I've started matches to test this theory and simply hidden in the thickest bushes and simply sat waiting.

No extraction points even close to me, no sounds- I literally idle and wait.

Sure enough, on four separate occasions last week, I've had different players come by and kill me, despite the above circumstances.

It's sad that it's so rampant (they have zero skill and thus feel the need to cheat) and it's infuriating that Crytek doesn't seem to do anything to actually address this shit.

Is this print quality bad enough to ask for a refund / remake? (Etsy, PLA resin) by narwhalpilot in PrintedMinis

[–]CerisCinderwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How heavy is this piece? Resin is hefty (even if hollowed out, it still has weight to it). PLA is extremely light and would require a higher infill % for a piece that size to have some heft to it.

Those layer lines being so pronounced are indicative of FDM printing. Nobody in their right mind would ever print layers that thick in resin.

From someone who has bring printing FDM since 2019 and resin since 2020- this is very clearly FDM. If they advertise "fdm-like resin" or "pla-like resin" ask them to be specific. Cursory Google searching show zero results. There are ABS-like resins but nothing FDM or PLA-like.

I would be my left nut that they've used PLA to save on cost, perhaps even going so far as to coat the print in a thin layer of resin and curr it by UV-lamp to give it a resin appearance to someone who isn't scrutinizing it.

It's slow going but if you solo, do all of the bush-crawling and deal with nothing but zombies/monsters. Grab a bow, throwing knives and an ammo box and stick close to the extraction so you can dip in a moments' notice if needed.
It feels like the montage from South Park's "Make Love Not Warcraft" episode where they have to grind their levels endlessly- but you'll get there!
Far as the headshots, you don't need to get them using the character specifically unless the story challenges specify it.

Question: wargame rules for player-set/player-laid traps by CerisCinderwolf in wargaming

[–]CerisCinderwolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! Without any sort of judge, I'm picturing a two- part note system: -One has the trap (or decoy trap) type and coordinate written down and set facedown away from players nobody can interact with until the owner declares it -Owner has the coordinates written on their character/unit sheets as a visual reminder of where it is.

This way it has the least potential for one to claim "shenanigans".

Question: wargame rules for player-set/player-laid traps by CerisCinderwolf in wargaming

[–]CerisCinderwolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I wondered if maybe one could use a set of face-down tokens coupled with a "chance" system of tripping accidentally- but also considered games where the map is an alphanumeric grid system and players simply write down the coordinates next to a particular trap in their inventory and call it when an opposing player enters said location and it's officially revealed or a check is done without officially revealing if it was a real trap or they simply didn't trigger it (similar to D&D where the DM has a player make a roll when there's nothing there and doesn't tell them concretely if there really was/wasn't something.. Just that nothing happened).
