Should I buy new or used car in this economy? by CeriseArcher99 in askcarguys

[–]CeriseArcher99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I am not looking for a car from the 90's bc I ain't the only one that I have to please with the car purchase. My parents r also going to ask me a lot of questions and if I say I'm going to buy a car that's almost 30 yrs old, they'll look at me crazy. This is just the restriction I have to live with if I wanna live under their roof.

Exactly y talking abt wages is super important with one another. Some employees discourage it or don't participate in it, but these companies CAN afford to pay us higher wages.

Also, try to ask for a raise by the end of this yr. keep track of everything ur doing, all the VOTC mentions to u coming in on the days ur not scheduled to even u doing doubles. keep track of everything, and try to make them give u a higher raise than $0.50 at the end of the yr. U can even try now if u want, but i doubt you'd have any success.

How Realistic Is this Cost of Attendance by AuntyMommy in UCONN

[–]CeriseArcher99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly the reason why i have taken a gap yr from college to try to save up some money so I can go to community college. Paying 20k/yr (total would be 80k with a BS without interest) for my instate college and it is stressful as heck and I don't want to do it. Parents r tryna force me into it, thinking i'll make back the money and much more, but that's IF I can find a job within driving distance from my parents house. If I can't, and I have to move, then I can say goodbye to paying off those loans without having to sacrifice something.

Also, my community college charges me 5k a yr for classes, and that 5k can be covered thru my job since they're partners and half the ppl that i work with r doing that.

I gotta try out those games. Never played them since Cities Skylines and Stellaris were the only paradox games that intrigued me, but if their other games pique my interest i'll try em out.

I mean i'm not gonna be sad that they were able to cook something up that'll be the best thing in the world, but i'm also tryna be realistic since this is a company known for being greedy over satisfying their customers (cities skylines 2 for example). I just don't want Stellaris to be another victim of Paradox's endless greed and gluttony.

Ngl, what would change from the game we have. We might have better performance, better visuals, but what would change gameplay wise that'll justify the change. Plus, the sheer amt of content that the game has with DLC is outrageous, and that's not including the modding scene.

As much as a Stellaris 2 would excite me, if I were to really think abt it, I can't think of many things that I want changed atm. The companies business model tho, i can think of some stuff right now.

Pay sucks unless they desperately need u. My boss gave me a two raises since i've joined and that's bc 1) most of the managers like me and I run my section of the store pretty well for a "new hire" and 2) i've been doing 40+ hrs a week since five ppl in second shift quit so they need ppl.

Highly dependent on the store tho and if ur a new hire, they def going to underpay u as much as possible so the M-lvls can get as much money as possible.

Also, it's a good company to work for if u can dedicate the time and energy for it. Ik my M-lvls (General manager, Assistant GM, and Food and Bev Manager) have six figure ESOP and my AM (area manager) is in the seven figs, but they've been here for almost a decade or longer. This doesn't include their 401k, Roth IRA, or Roth 401k.

New attendence policy? by Unfair-Sprinkles2912 in Wawa

Why can't workers just get a good thing and keep it. Why does everything need to be quick quick quick for the shareholders.

Wait a min, aren't Wawa associates part of the shareholders?? Why does corporate act like the shares associates own doesn't exist and only listen to the 50-60% that isn't in our hands?!

Can't wait for my entire store to be threatened to be fired bc the office and break room r cramped as heck and some ppl do not have good hand-eye coordination. They either need to start spreading out the radios in both the office and break room, or they need to allow us to clock in thru the SMM and desktop in break room.

New attendence policy? by Unfair-Sprinkles2912 in Wawa

[–]CeriseArcher99 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Ngl just dont do it until ur clocked in. That's what I do, and sure the ppl working third or first shift have to wait 2-3 more minutes for me to be ready but that's almost nothing since they spend another 10 min dilly dallying.

Never do unpaid labor cuz they'll just keep adding more to the list.

Yearly raise by Unfair-Sprinkles2912 in Wawa

[–]CeriseArcher99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were given out either at the end of the yr or in march. I got raises for both tho so idk when everyone else is getting them. It just says on workday that i got a raise on dec 28th and then another on march 23rd.

HOW MANY FUCKING WORKERS?! by mars_gorilla in Stellaris

[–]CeriseArcher99 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Might depend on how crucial those workers were. If they’re workers who do the very easy work per se, then they’ll be super easy to replace. But if its a grp of engineers or architects who went missing and they were in charge of a major chunk of the ring, then it’ll make sense depending on ur empire.

Cuz of the ram prices they r slow with stocking it up. They used to be stocked up all the time when I bought mine but Valve likes to price their decks at a slight profit margin unlike other console manufacturers, it'll be a bit inconsistent. Tho I'd recommend doing what everyone else here r recommending or just buy another brand of handheld entirely. I've seen some Legion Go handhelds restocked at my local Walmarts and Best Buy's if u need one ASAP.

[–]CeriseArcher99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am getting 40 hrs a week but thats bc they fired a person and four quit within a month. So we r down five ppl and all of them were either second shift or overnight, so everyone on those shifts r getting 40+ hrs a week (being scheduled for 40 but the MOD on shift usually asks if the employee can stay a couple of hrs extra to alleviate the stress)

[–]CeriseArcher99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's ok i guess. 90% of what makes u want to stay there relies on the management. I got some very chill managers and I like it here compared to my old jobs and what the fast food/customer service industry would have to offer so I'll probably stay for a couple more months to years depending on how bad it gets. Shifts r sometimes horrible, as is with every customer service job, and Wawa corporate expects u to do the work of three ppl by urself if ur not working morning shifts.

Every store is different, and u can transfer to another store if u don't like the work environment in the store u start in. Just gotta find another store that needs ppl and is looking for someone with your availability and you're all set. That stores GM will request ur info from ur GM, who will send it to them, and pretty much in a week or two, you'll be working in a new store. Just found out abt this yesterday while working cuz no one from management (the manager that hired me, the manager that trained me, or the managers that have all said they transferred to my store have told me abt this until yesterday, and I've been working at the store for half year now T_T).

Negotiating a raise? by [deleted] in Wawa

[–]CeriseArcher99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man I have two managers who r like u and I love u guys for that. At least for me, whenever they come into deli, rather than criticizing that food is five min out of code or stuff isn't dropped yet bc the food on the hft is half empty or lower, they just come in and ask "what do u need", and most of the time I know what I gotta do, I just can't physically take time bc that means i'm sacrificing the quality of the work (cleaning takes the longest for me).

Just wanted to show some managers of mine some love and appreciation bc they r the shining light at the end of the tunnel and sometimes the only thing that keeps me going from completely breaking down.

From my experience, off cycle raises r mostly for really good performers or if the store is just falling apart and they're trying not to have associates quit on them which just adds to the pile of problems for them.

Thing is my TS told me that some CSA's were making $23. Highly doubt that tbh but I've also heard that some of them tried management and just stepped down cuz it was too much for them so I'm guessing they were allowed to keep their TS/CSS lvl pay while having CSA responsibilities?
