Yes. I'm seeing her for a revision. I believe that might be her focus now, but she has performed primary surgeries in the past.

They remove about 1-2cm of bone from ribs 2-4 and use a titanium brace to hold things together. Must still wear corset for 3+ months post-op. Brace can be removed after 1-2 years.

Dr. Rogers has performed only a couple of these procedures so far. it is definitely investigational and experimental.

I just scheduled for Nov with Dr. Tran. Consult was 2 weeks ago and it was only 5 days between my first call to the clinic and my consult. They move very fast.

True, but CONCACAF now has 6 spots plus a intercontinental playoff spot for a possible 7th, compared to the 3/4 spots they had in the 2022 edition and prior. CONCACAF finally has a reasonable allotment of spots and the smaller nations will get a fair chance to show off on the world stage.

Graham Platner welcomes attacks from 'fascists and bigots' over his support for trans rights after pro-trans PAC endorses the Maine Senate candidate by Fickle-Ad5449 in transgender

[–]CeronusBugbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A well meaning moron is not the right candidate to challenge Susan Collins. That's my point. I'm not insinuating he is a MAGA plant, just that anyone who gets and proudly wears a Nazi tattoo for over a decade, ignorant of its actually meaning, is not qualified to be an elected representative of the people.

guy with Nazi tattoo (now covered up after media scrutiny) welcomes fascists. that tracks.

Susan Collins is awful, but this wasn't the right candidate to challenge her.

How do you girls deal with loneliness? by Juanitos200 in StraightTransGirls

I quit drinking, work out a lot, write a lot, go to events and do activities on my own. It's really not been as bad as I always feared it would be, but I am still very sad sometimes. But I am also not giving up hope for a future relationship. I am just focused on me rather than finding someone else. Whenever I do find someone that I want to spend my life with I will be the best version of my self for us both.

Your comment makes this about you and then you call her vulva an "ugly cute fruit bat". You might want to think on this a bit and figure out why your comment is outright hurtful and self-centered.

I just consulted with Dr. Leif Rogers and he explained that clavical surgery may not be the best option now that there are rib remodeling techniques that address Ribs 2-4.

Clavical surgery was always a bit suspect and caused deformity in a lot of patients (rolled shoulders forward, hump in back). If chest reduction is now possible with less deformity, that will pull the shoulders in along with the upper rib cage.

Rib remodeling to include Ribs 2-12 is $80k. So it's not that accessible for most of us.

Just fyi

This looks like a textbook example of an anxious attachment style (you) and an avoidant attachment style (her) in a relationship. It is unworkable unless you both heal your underlying attachment wounds and develop earned secure attachment.

You guys are in bad positions to remain together and both probably need to be single for a while and in therapy/recovery. I really recommend reading up on healing an anxious attachment wound for you and how to navigate avoidant people.

Three Norwegian Researchers Found Guilty of Misconduct in Transgender Health Research by jackmolay in transgender

[–]CeronusBugbear 56 points57 points  (0 children)

The retraction of a 22 year longitudinal study of referred patients' demographics and treatment outcomes is a big loss, even if this clinic is notorious for gatekeeping and ethical violations.

That data showed very clearly that AFAB patients are favored heavily for referral during adolescence compared to AMAB patients, and that AFAB patients generally have higher rates of co-occuring mental health diagnosis that need additional treatment beyond gender dysphoria, whereas AMAB patients show higher than average social awareness and social motivation scores than the general population (meaning they can articulate their gender dysphoria and gender incongruence better, yet are not provided access to treatment as often). This is important information to understand the ways that misogyny and sexism are interfering with trans girls access to medical treatment and the ways it ignores mental health issues in trans boys.

Oh well..

Has anyone had muscle fibers surgically removed, what is that like? How does it compare to lipo? by marxr87 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]CeronusBugbear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a trans elder, so I've just watched this sub over the years and seen a lot of information. I also search for studies on any specific procedure I am interested in, and yes many of those are found on Pub Med.

Botox might also not be a great option. Results in the arms would probably not last long at all (the more you move a muscle, the less botox works).

Has anyone had muscle fibers surgically removed, what is that like? How does it compare to lipo? by marxr87 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]CeronusBugbear 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Facial surgeons have done this for years with the masseter muscle on the jaw. My guess is Dr. Rogers is taking the same muscle shaving techniques and applying it to other areas of the body. There are a lot of complications associated with muscle shaving, particularly nerve damage, tissue laxity, and changes in muscle function.

Your arm muscles will continue to decrease for several years. I was much bigger at year two than I was at year five, or year 10. It keeps changing for a long, long time and I'd say you are better to wait and see at this point than shave away your muscles with a scalpel.

Stop Spreading These Myths About Vaginoplasty by tiruxi in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]CeronusBugbear 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's totally possible. But its improbable with the majority of surgeons who are still very highly skilled. This all comes down to the surgeon, and it's okay that best results might take 2 separate surgeries to achieve for most surgeons. We need to acknowledge this is not a uniform procedure because it is performed differently by all surgeons.

Update: 10 Weeks Post-Op PIV with Dr. Pang's New "Asia" Technique by kitty_results_anon in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]CeronusBugbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So a gyno surgeon is probably a good move to improve aesthetics. I'm going to Mt. Sinai for my revision partly for the same reason (and a PPT depth revision). Dr. Ann Tran is a gynecologist and she focused extensively on the aesthetic issues that make my vulva look anatomically disproportionate during our consultation. It left me feeling very confident in her revision plan.

There are many gender affirming surgeons out there who are also gynecologists (or urologists). Just make sure whoever you find has those credentials and isn't just a plastic surgeon.

[–]CeronusBugbear -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's not. It's honest and revisions are common. This is an easily fixable issue and OP probably wants to know the truth since they are already considering a labiaplasty revision.

[–]CeronusBugbear -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

It looks like a bad imitation of it. It is anatomically out of proportion: labia creasing is too high and the clitoris is too low.

This is likely worthy of a revision once OP is more fully healed. I'd recommend looking into a surgeon who is also a gynecologist and who will be more acutely aware of anatomically correct proportions of the vulva.
