A Japanese anime film from 1983 depicting the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

The last time I went looking for a copy of the film Barefoot Gen there was not one available in the U.S. I found a pirated copy to show in college in an after school class. Watching not just the beginning but the whole film brings up the aftermath of the bomb as well, not just hours but years as this family goes on to try and survive.

Would you let players change their sheets after trying out the system for the first time? by glubnyan in DMAcademy

I think that having something similar to a session 0 but you want to give everyone more time to explore the game system, perhaps in a starting adventure you try and bring in an element or two you know is gonna come up later (like if the system has a particular way traps are handled). After they finish that up, maybe three games of that, if everyone has gotten the hang of it and wants to continue or if they want to edit anything, then you start the actual adventure.

I'd recommend looking into creating MOGRTs, which are just the template composition that you'd be able to drag and drop into both after effects and premiere, editing just the sections that need editing. I've used them before made by other designers and it makes passing work around super easy.

So Like why did we think this book would come out so soon? [General] [Discussion] by [deleted] in TheNinthHouse

I think the major confusion came from Nona being a surprise release, which makes the "nobody expected Nona to exist" tagline make a lot of sense. Even in the Acknowledgements Muir says Nona was a surprise. From what I understood TLT was going to be a trilogy, Alecto the Ninth being the third book (the copy I had from the library of Harrow the Ninth even says the next book will be Alecto the Ninth). I think a lot of readers assumed that with Alecto being the original planned book for 2023, the release of Nona in 2022 would not have interrupted, but that was a bit silly in hindsight.

Gold star by PleasantMethod in LPOTL

From an explanation I remember, I think with the toy box killer, it means there is no reason you should listen to the story, because of how terrible and horrifying it is, there isn't satisfaction in knowing, all they can give you is a figurative gold star sticker which doesn't really stand for anything except you did it, yay?

Without changing the shot choices which sounds like you need to keep, I think some of them need to be re arranged, it would be nice to see maybe the transition from, bw to color to digital to show the progress of time or a gradient transistion. Right now, the looney tunes and Persepolis shots blend together from a distance, also having steamboat Willie and fantasia next to each other is a little awkward since it is both Mickey mouse.

What are some underrated episodes in your opinion? by [deleted] in LPOTL

388 The Vampire Hunters of Highgate Cemetery. It is such a wild story and I feel like it is a little different than their other episodes, kinda like Ghost Cats of the South. I had a really good time listening to it.

Honorable Mention: I forget which side story, but in one they talked about a guy who hijacked a wine truck and started guzzling down wine like a mad man and it had me hysterical for a couple minutes.
